"Ooh if I see it people will thing I'm furry" "Too childish looking" "This CGI film looks cartoony". In This Thread.
It's definitely going to be a Sci-Fi epic among critics and movie goers, you can see it now. I hope it's a great birthday present. (Comes out on my birthday. :buddy:)
I though she died in Resident Evil :O
No! She got shot in LOST! :O CONSPIRACY
I though she died in Resident Evil :O
I thought she died in Lost :O
The more I think about how the aliens look too cartoony/fairy like, I realize that actually, the features that they have that make them look that way are more or less realistically what would have occurred on a world like theirs. For example, it seems the world is stuck in a constant overcast of mist, this lack of sunlight would obviously cause the Na'vi's eyes to be larger then normal, to allow more sunlight to be processed. The lesser gravity of the world would also mean they would be tall and lanky, just like they are shown in the trailer and concept art. The prehensile tail would also make sense, since they would require it for balance if they are in their worlds many tree's.
:mmmhmm:
I think it will be a sci-fi epic. ALOT of people have been waiting for this movie, as it's been a long time since he made his last movie(Titanic).

It better end of off with the humans committing genocide on those blue shitfaces.
I do feel the aliens were kind of cartoonish, but still going to watch it regardless.
Whoever designed the logo really fucked up, the fonts look almost the same. It's going to make kids in the theater who see the trailer get all pissed because they think they ruined avatar (the anime)
This looks fi fied FUCKED
yeah let me know if it looks any better. but otherwise I'd say i've lost most of the interest I had in this movie. i was expecting something much more realisitc looking, in terms of the aliens that is.
yea, it was hyped up that it would be the most realistic incarnation of an alien. i really don't like they way they look... i mean, what's the point of spending $400,000,000 on CGI then?
i mean, what's the point of spending $400,000,000 on CGI then?
Take a look at the environment. Most of it is probably made in CGI, it's not just the aliens.
:mmmhmm:
What's that supposed to mean?
Looks like a furry's dream come true. Can't say I'm too excited after seeing that trailer now.
Yeah, me neither. That was a total letdown.
Only thing I would nick-pick at is I wished they designed the military hardware better.
Looks like a generic movie that comes out these days :sigh:
Im just hoping that somehow it being 3D will make it better in some way. Maybe in 3D the graphics will look more 'real'... Oh who am I kidding...ergh
Am I the only one who loved the trailer? Honestly? I wasn't to interested until I saw the trailer and now I REALLY want to see it.
I don't know, the second time watching the movie trailer, it oddly seemed A LOT better then the first time I watched it. Also, anyone notice the pistol the guy uses at 1:44 looks extremely similar to the M6D Pistol from Halo (aka, The Pistol that could've won the war if UNSC supplied every soldier with it.)
The trailer looks like a computer game. I hope the 3d part adds something extra to the impact. It's just that after the gritty realism of District 9, Avatar looks like a trifle, a kid's movie.
The trailer looks like a computer game.
That was exactly what I thought when I saw it, it's about time someone did something like this with CGI on this scale. I can't imagine the hell the animators have been through though.
Ehhh, looks like it could be interesting I guess. I don't really like the look of the alien things but they're not bad I guess.
James Cameron's Avatar is the epic story of some dudes putting their brains in blue elves and running away from giant monsters as chunks of land inexplicably float in the sky and people in big, scary ships blow things up while Wagnerian overtures explode your eardrums

It's strange, the first time I watched it I was totally disappointed, the second time I watched it, I came to terms with the style, the third time I watched the trailer, I now want to watch the movie as badly as pre-trailer.
I had never heard anything about this movie before today, i watched the trailer and yeah the aliens look cartoony but that's just because they're bright colored. I'll get used to it, and it looks amazing
The alien looks like robert pattinson
