Definitely, but that's probably because I hated LOTR.
For me, LOTR was the best thing about the decade, I really don't think any film since has surpassed it.
You have to watch the extended editions, however.

Did that 2 Christmases ago when we got the boxset for my dad, best 10 hours ever :v:
Hivemind, add to the list "Right-wing patriots who hate having America be the bad guy". The humans definitely represented US in there.

Uhh pretty sure Rush Hour 2 is the best movie of the decade.
Hell no, LOTR is the gold standard of movies.
It's by far the greatest book-movie adaptation I've ever seen, with the Harry Potter series coming a close second (closer to the material, but not as awesome.)
[editline]01:27PM[/editline]
The visuals of LoTR suited it perfectly, it didn't need Avatar graphics.
Well der. But since we're "comparing" here, the graphics in Avatar WERE more advanced simply because of the improved technology. LOTR had perfect CGI for its purpose and time.
Uhh pretty sure Rush Hour 2 is the best movie of the decade.
Well, critically it was the best received film of the decade, but it flopped at the box office.
People just aren't ready for these "buddy" films.
avatar should have been called
"a tale of blue titties"
More like a TAIL AND blue titties.

No it really is the best film ever made.

Brett Ratner really is the best film maker of this, and dare I say it, ANY century.
I'd say Avatar because I've never really been fond of Fantastic movies with elves and magical stuff. I still think LOTR was a good movie, but just not my type of my movie.

We have to go back! D:
I literally laughed out loud at this.

I sprayed milk over my screen.
[editline]08:39PM[/editline]
It came out my nose :saddowns:
One word, beautiful.
avatar should have been called

Are there any screen caps of Pandoran nipslips online?
I couldn't stop staring at the blue titties the entire film.
It was distracting as fuck.
Gotta love when 3D is employed responsibly, not that "jump stuff into your face" shit.
I liked avatar , it was all pretty and such :fuckyou:
What ads did you guys get at the start?
We had Toy Story 3 :3:, Tim Burton's Tim Burton the Movie, which looks like another shit Tim Burton fest and something else which I can't remember.
The story advanced way too fast at points, should have been a 2-parter IMO
But it was fucking awesome anyway.
That deer thing freaked me out when it looked up and flared that super colorful head feather deal right before they killed it.
I did not expect that at all.
Also the helicopter lizards were my favorite.
I, for no specific reason, burst out laughing at that thing
EDIT: Avatar avatar (dohoho)
I thought most of the animals were rather uninspired anyway. "Here's an alien horse... it's like a normal horse but we put an extra pair of legs on it".
Agreed completely.
Virtually all of them were just remixes of Earth animals.
Pretty gay.
Watching it in 3D tomorrow, going to be sweet!

Two forgettable previews (Lightning Thief and How to tame a dragon), then Piranha 3D (oh God that looks amazing.)

I had an Alice in Wonderland ad, it's just a black screen with the cats face just staring at you for a few seconds at the end smiling, it looks like it's about a foot in front of your face. I found it pretty funny at the time for some reason.
10. Watched it in 3d, just got done 10 mins ago.

Yeah I got the first two and Alice in Wonderland, and read online that piranha 3 was attached. I was looking forward to it, but didn't get to see it :(
Was the preview in 3D?
piranha looks really bad, i'd almost rather watch twilight
What? It looks like it'll win an oscar.

Yes it was, they proved it by having a big black man gimmickly "wielding" a rudder thing in your face.
Did anyone else think "Hey Obama what are you doing on that shuttle" During the arrival shuttle scene
Is there any info released on what the Avatar DVD is going to be like?
avatar should have been called
