He should have gotten the big banshee first, it would have made more sense. (Why would you make a bond then throw it away?)
Also who else thought of Navi when they first hear Na'vi

He had to throw the old bond away because there wasn't any other substantial thing he could do to prove to the tribe that he was on their side and not working for the corporation.
The movie was great.
Except for the ducted fan aircraft sounded like helicopters.
Helicopters sound like helicopters because the air coming off the tail rotor intersects with the air coming off the main rotor at a perpendicular angle. "Choppers" are called such because the tail rotor air is literally being chopped by the main rotor's air making that distinct chopping sound. It is more pronounced with fewer blades.
As such with helicopters that do not use tail rotors, like NOTAR systems or coaxial rotors, the sound they produce is notably different than you would hear from a conventional helicopter design.
And those aircraft still use rotors. Ducted fans produce even less noise and a significantly different sound.
It just bugged me the amount of work that went into those beautiful aircraft to have some sound guy be a retard.
Yeah and their windows are stupid and don't make any sense either. >:(
I liked this movie. A lot. Yes, I agree that you knew what was going to happen next throughout the entire movie, but that's part of the reason I liked it. Now, don't get me wrong, I like my stories complex and intricate, but Avatar was a nice change of pace, something that you could just watch and enjoy without having to think to terribly much about it. I could enjoy the beauty of the film without worrying about what plot twist came next.
tl;dr: Avatar was nice and simple, for when you don't want to think much while watching a movie.

In the end it seems it doesn't matter what kind of story James Cameron tells, because he is a master when it comes to pacing and presentation.
If James Cameron were to make a Romantic Comedy based on Of Mice and Men it would be the third highest grossing film of all time. And I would pay to see it eight times. In 3-D

Because that huge red one was the badass sky predator you don't fuck with. He wanted the big one to prove he was a worthy tribesman they'd listen to, and probably to give him the edge in that [sp]big fuckoff climactic battle[/sp]
Loved it. I didn't see it in IMAX 3D but regular 3D (no IMAX here) but it was great anyway.

He let the big banshee go after all the events so he probably went back to his old one and it wasn't forgotten.

Wouldn't it be pissed at him though
I would
I'd be like fuck you Sully
You don't think it'll beat Titanic? It's only been out for a month and it already made 1.34 BILLION dollars, only 500 million away from Titanic. Plus Titanic was in theaters for like an entire year.
The sequel should take place on Earth like the third Planet of the Apes.
What, like the Na'vi somehow learn to use modern technology, and they make a retaliatory attack against Earth?
about how far in was the part when jake watches the girl na'vi sync with that flying thing? just to get an idea of where i left off.
Plus Titanic was in theaters for like an entire year.
It was #1 for like 16 weeks

No, Escape from the Planet of the Apes had just two main ape characters go back to the human Earth and then a bunch of shit happened.
I saw this depiction of a black hole, it looks like a na'vi eye.

I find this quite ridiculous.
The thing that irritates me most about the people hating on this movie is that it didn't copy Pocahontas, it copied Dances With Wolves. Cameron started writing Avatar in '94 Pocahontas came out in '95. While there are some traits taken from Pocahontas they are more predominantly from Dances With Wolves.
I find it awesome that video games within the next 20 years will have the same real-time CGI graphics as it is in Avatar.

Could come in earlier than 20 years, maybe even 5-10 years, we're advancing pretty fast.

The ORIGINAL script was written in 94 but has since then been revised.

I read it, I'm just stating that your "but it was written before Pocahontas" statement doesn't hold water.
