Shit Postal I remember you from way back!
Does anybody know where i can get a wallpaper of the scenery in this film ? it really is beautiful. Sorry if im late, and i have used google.
Have any of you seen Fern Gully?
Dear god, The original script would have been so much better. WHY DID THEY CHANGE IT! D:
The film was amazing and i am a very picky person, it was gripping from start to finish and the music and art work were just pure art , this man has a wonderful imagination , shame the next one is coming out in like 5 years plus. I am going to the Cinema to go watch it again , and also, if you go watch it , make sure you watch it in 3D, it really boosts the quality of the film. [editline]11:04PM[/editline] the film was amazing from start to finish , the music and graphics was great , and the 3D really boosted the film, people in the cinema were screeming when somthing jumped out of the screen , it was wonderful
I found Avatar to be mediocre and follow the same old "Guy joins society, guy shunned by society and some random douchebag who wants to rival him in everything for some reason, guy steals douchebag's chick, shit hits the fan, guy and douchebag make up, huge battle scene, all is well" style. Though I really loved the battle scene for some reason, even though I've definitely seen better. And when Ney'tiri cries she sounds like a donkey. HOOOOOOOOOONK

"I didn't sign up for this shit" Way overused.
Because people who don't need to die get killed. also
I'm not the only one? Pandora was so gorgeous and I realized how ugly our world is. ...No wonder Crysis was so popular! *ba dum, pish!* P.S: I watched this movie last weekend and I ended up waiting 3 hours because it sold out. The lineup was longer than Twilight on the first day... and this was the lineup to get ticket 5 minutes before the movie started. Geez. And before you ask, I wasn't seeing Twilight, I was seeing another movie out at the same time. I don't quite remember which one though.
For the record, when I went to see AVATAR, the theater was empty aside from me, my friends, and the shady guy that stands in the corner whom smells of smoke. So yeah, I got in for R40.00, $3.00 basically.
i didn't like it :S
Genius , watch only in 3d
I like how the AVATAR wording at the end looked 3D without being 3D.
It was a decent movie. Who cares if the story was ripped from Pocahontas or Dances with Wolves or whatever - the concept has been done a million times before. What I liked:

Giovanni Ribisi - he made this movie worth seeing alone. Brilliant acting!
Very good-looking effects and good music/sound.
Great action scenes.
What I didn't like:

Superficial/Shallow. I didn't even catch the girl's (Neytiri) name until the last part of the film.
The symbolism was way too obvious and I didn't like the message. I definitely rooted for the humans.
I'm not a big fan of CGI. It looked good in this movie, like for the environment and the machines, but it makes the aliens look a bit stiff. This made dialogue scenes uninteresting.
Bad length. It would have been better either shorter or longer. A shorter version and it would have been a good action flick. And a longer version would've allowed more depth of the characters.
Conclusion: I think it's too shallow. It's basically just about looks. I saw it in 2D and everyone says that it must be seen in 3D, which proves my point - that this isn't more than a cool movie experience. If you're gonna watch this movie, then go to the cinema (3D preferably) and have a good time. I wouldn't recommend watching it on the computer or tv. I think I can best describe "Avatar" as family friendly porn. 6.5/10

It takes a whole new level of low to review a movie after watching it, but listening not to the dialogue, or the information portrayed in it. You say they did not mention in detail Neytiri's name, more so that you could not comprehend that it had been mentioned very early in the movie. And you saw it in 2D? Hah. The characters are not shallow, they are only shallow if that is the way you portray them. You need to listen before you try to enforce unfair judgment on a great movie. I hope you know you've sparked a revolution of sorts, and now all the facepunchers will wholey agree with you, seen it or not, because apparently good CGI immediately means 'Lolactionflick, bad'.
I liked the movie.

Of course I listened to the dialogue. It just didn't get my attention since much of the dialogue is not what you say, but how you say it. And I think this was executed very poorly most of the movie (the Na'vi parts specifically). What I meant by Neytiri's name was that I'm sure they mentioned it several times. But in the abscence of character depth, a name loses all meaning. Her name didn't stick with me. She was just eye candy for most parts.
The characters are not shallow, they are only shallow if that is the way you portray them. I didn't feel anything for them. They could've died and I wouldn't care whatsoever. But that's just me. Maybe I have higher standards. :3: Oh, and so what if I saw it in 2D?
I hope you know you've sparked a revolution of sorts, and now all the facepunchers will wholey agree with you, seen it or not, because apparently good CGI immediately means 'Lolactionflick, bad'.
Pardon?
I loved this film, it was incredible.
Meh, it was okay. We've seen the story before, but whatever.
...No wonder Crysis was so popular! *ba dum, pish!*
You are aware that Crysis is meant to take place in a real life location right?
You are aware that Crysis is meant to take place in a real life location right?
Crysis was all about looks. Story and characters were pretty shallow too. The movie wasn't bad, it just was one big 3d candy. It's good in a way it revolutionized 3d, but that's about it. There are other 2d movies that are much deeper and worth watching more.

My opinion is that Pandora looked okay, until I saw floating rocks with vines attaching them together. How the fuck did those rocks stay upright. And the Aliens should be cooler, either some crazy-ass sexy legion of females or some crazy ugly motherfuckers. Like predator.

Saw it today one of my favourite films.

Does anyone have a side pic of one of the RSA(i think) transports/gunships? God damn blue tree hugging hippies ruined a lot of good Vtols.
