Turns out I'm tone deaf. I can't tell the difference in the one key lower songs.
Yea, a lot of stems are found in Guitar Hero and Rock Band games, like 50% of multitracks that exist in public are probably from one of the two games. The older the game the less tracks it likely has, for example GH1 has only guitar and then everything else as different tracks. Then when you get to a game like Guitar Hero: World Tour you pretty much have tracks for everything. Also here's one I made.
I'm not even talking about those games at all. Some of their existence has nothing to do with guitar hero.
A lot of people use the multi-tracks from Rockband and Guitar Hero. Someone dumped a huge collection of zips with all the different songs, which have all the different tracks from the original mixes. So you can download any song and just bring in all the instruments, then alter the vocals. Re-tuning some vocals up a step can take you like a minute in audacity.
You can find some of these at /r/SongStems
Speaking of messing around with songs, I still love Alvin and the Chipmunks slowed down.
