I held a sign that said "Tsunami Relief," the only donations I received were three signatures, a business card, some Spanish music ads and a religious thing. I think my next approach will to just say something funny on the sign.

I was thinking that once I get an idea and stuff and a basic plan, I could get some local bands to endorse the charity in return for me getting their name out there. Or something like that. Intertwine music with it.

Yeah I can't think of anything else other than that.

Do you have the resources?

There wouldn't be much resources involved. Get donations from people I know/local people by going out on the streets and asking for their help and whatever they can give. Get enough to maybe buy a kid a basic acoustic guitar or violin or what have you, and that's it really. Then go along and raise more to give another kid something. Local bands can maybe set up donation things at gigs or I can just get some musicians I know to hang out downtown or in a park somewhere and set up a donation box there while they just jam.

Eh not really. Benefit concerts have all proceeds go towards that specific charity, and I doubt any local bands will be willing to give up all their profits.
