Technically, that's not a BBoy move. And you need better form.
Haha when you finish your flares then we'll talk. [editline]6th March 2011[/editline] :hfive:
Been learning tango, but I find it very hard without a partner. Going classic, trying waltz too, but I want something modern and classy - something schnazzy that matches my clothes if that makes any sense at all?

Want to tango still.
Haha when you finish your flares then we'll talk. [editline]6th March 2011[/editline] :hfive:
What. How do you know what I'm working on?
I know where you live man.
I know where you live man.
Me too.
Me too.
Where? :ninja:
Could you please? I seem to twist my ankle a lot withing relatively short times.
Oh, in that case, it sounds like you need to build some ankle strength. You should do that through the feet. I'll give you a few ideas. To warm up, do very small ankle circles both ways. Then point, flex, point, flex. As you come back to flex, don't just move your foot upward- articulate through the toes, big toe first, leading to the little toe. You'll have to start little if your foot still hurts, of course, but ultimately what will help you the most is strength. So once you're all warmed up, you'll want to stand and go into releve (to rise). Stand on the ball of your feet and place your weight either between the first and second or second and third toes (whichever comes naturally). If your ankles are shaking, you're standing too high. Your ankles also shouldn't stick out one way or another. Your feet should be straight with your legs. Once you're comfortable with that, work it as isometrics. Against a wall, raise one leg and balance that foot (flexed). Raise into releve on the other foot for 10 to 30 seconds, and then alternate. I'd do this 1 to 3 times, or you could go for less seconds more sets. Get a hand towel and sit on the ground with your legs extended. Point one foot. Use the towel to push over the front of the foot, on the toes, to lengthen out farther. You should feel a stretch. Then flex, pull the towel around the arch of the foot (bottom of the foot) and point again. That's a helpful one. Another good one is to flex the foot and put the towel around the arch of the foot again. Experiment with the towel. The extra help is nice. Another good towel exercise~ stand up and stand on the beginning of the towel, then crunch your toes until you scrunch up the entire towel. If you make your entire foot stronger, you may depend less on your ankles. The best thing you can do though, really, is the pointing and flexing and making *absolutely sure* that your feet are properly aligned. If your ankles move out or in, be aware of that and start over. You can do it while you're microwaving something or watching TV, really. Make sure to buy good shoes.
Where? :ninja:
In front of your monitor. [editline]8th March 2011[/editline]
Series of paragraphs
Thank you!
Hahahahahaaa series of pararaphs. :3: You're welcome. My jazz teacher (more like exercise health teacher) goes on and on all the time about it because she had an ankle injury. It was no problem.
Does getting drunk and high and doing the cooking dance count?

What kind of style dance is this? I like this, wish I could dance this way.
Basic jazz is easy to learn, I think, because you've probably done jazz-esque moves before. Various styles have taken from jazz. [editline]10th March 2011[/editline] Oh, and the video wouldn't load.
There are many types of dancing- swing, modern, jazz, tap, ballet, ballroom, salsa, and on and on and on.
you forgot the category that timeless classics like the lawnmower and the shopping cart go into
Hahahahaaa. Actually there have been some amazing dances with props. I don't remember who the group was but I remember a bunch of "housewives" danced with household objects and it was hilarious.
There's a bboy that has an amputated leg and uses his crutches as props
There's a bboy that has an amputated leg and uses his crutches as props
There's a bboy that can't see without glasses and he battles without them (or contacts). I don't see how he knows how to top the other person's moves.
There's me.
Yay modern starts tomorrow! :D Done with jazz for a while!
I just joined a dance ensemble (my people/culture take great pride in their dances) a few months ago. It was tough as hell to get used to the "classics", but I'm still bad at the dancing itself. If anyone is interested, I'll post some videos of the dancing in my culture which is really amazing stuff.
Do post! No one will flame you here, well maybe in General Discussion or Fast Threads.
I'm debating on doing a video collaboration with a few guys. But all they do is K-POP...
Well that means you'll be the best one, and they will make you look better
Yay for me then. I kinda taught one of them tecktonik so we might do some of that later. I'm also considering making a video of my friend who shuffles and myself. Make it an international collab video.
Post it. I'm thinking of making a short trailer too, like a 60 second one.
lol time to stea- buy a camera then dance then edit for 9 hours then give up.
What do you use? I use iMovie, easy to use but not so great. Also, Newegg.com used to have Flip cameras for $90 USD with free shipping (I'm a regular PC Builder in the Hardware & Software section).
I use sony vegas. And i have a digital camera with a pretty good video setting
