It's not just FEAR he's complaining about, he's talking generally and using FEAR as an example.
And 30 dollars is 30 dollars, just because he has other games doesn't soften the blow of buying a new game only to find out it doesn't work.
Ironic how companies rely on DRM to suppress piracy and yet it not only does nothing, but it also makes them lose customers.

Well you only need the Internet connection to log in and activate games. After that you can cut the connection and you'd still be able to play most games offline.
