Isn't the idea of a non-lethal playthrough that it's way harder? I don't know, but it seems to me like these weapons could make it way too easy.
It's still harder, you just get more than one way to non-lethally take someone out.
Being limited to two weapons and the same repetitive takedown animations over and over again made Human Revolution quite tiresome after a while. Thankfully the level design kept it interesting, but it wouldn't have hurt to get a few more options if only for variety's sake.
I'd love to just to get a simple melee weapon so that you can just bonk people over the head and stun them instead of having to get the same takedown animation hundreds of times over.
sure you don't just have a thing for low-poly game protags?

nah
What's up with half of all the assets being obviously run through DDO without any modifications, the hilariously overdone sharpen filter?? Serious step down in terms of artistic style and talent from HR's amazing futuristic interiors.
Also, all of the gameplay footage has looked seriously choppy, I won't be surprised if when the game comes out, it runs terribly.
[editline]2015-10-22[/editline]
Though I love the overdone french yelling the soldiers do, that has to be an internal joke since it's a bilingual studio.

looks like someone didn't spent his praxis points on inventory capacity

The thing about non-lethal playthroughs is that really often, they're not rewarding at all. Sometimes, they're flat out boring; Metro Last Light and Bioshock Infinite's DLC being really terrible examples of that.
Human Revolution is one of the few games that decided hey, maybe we should give non-lethal players their own brand of toys so they can still enjoy the game for what it is instead of spending their entire game walking up behind people and pressing "hit"
I don't like the new beard, it looks like he frequently goes to a salon to get it styled properly
The facial animations look pretty shit, but at the same the hair and so on looks amazing, probably better hair than in any other game out there right now.

The face looks alright but the hair is what really bugs me. Glad more and more games are using something like TressFX

HR ran on the same engine that powered the tomb raider reboot, so if this engine is just a branch of it, then it probably is TressFX.
I never understood the PEPS gun, anyway. If I'm trying to be nonlethal I'm being silent. I don't need a loud gun that emits bright balls of light alerting everyone in the building.
Yeah, the PEPS was only really good as an "Oh shit" option for when you already fucked up. Would've been better implemented as some kinda grenade IMO, but it does look cool as fuck.

the PEPS is for room clearing, you fire one orb inside and bam everyone is fucking unconscious
it's also great when you're dealing with [sp]the swathes of zombie-like augmented workers towards the end of the game[/sp]
looks like someone didn't spent his praxis points on inventory capacity
That's not what I mean ? you only have like two main non-lethal weapons in Human Revolution.
The gas grenade is pretty niche and almost nobody used the PEPS gun since it's loud as fuck.

Human Revolution is on the same engine as tomb raider underworld, Mankind Divided is using a modified version of the engine Hitman Absolution used.
I haven't been following this game, the only thing I know is the preorder fiasco that happened and how it was pulled. Is it going to be good? I loved playing HR, but I haven't really heard much about this game other than the awful preorder thing.
Music sounds incredible, I cannot wait for this game.

We don't know much about it yet other than the story.
They said they wanted to make the lethal aspect more fun without compromising non-lethal runs and that's pretty much it.
Only problem I have is the beard looks unnaturally well-groomed
his beard is augmented
Imagine a triple lethal takeout where both his arm blades are busy, so he just leans his head back and extends his beard into a massive third blade that impales the third guy.
So uh...
How do we get from this to the original's augments?
So uh...

This looks like it's leading up to some sort of economical collapse. You already see people with augs being removed from society, which would explain why we don't see many civilians with augs in DX.

objective journalism
I can't take this game seriously when its subtitle is abbreviated. I expect the trailers to go something like,
[in raspy voice] "My name is Dr. Adam Jensen, MD. I studied for eight years under the greatest minds in medicine. Now I'm the world's foremost trauma surgeon. These are my stories." [Deus Ex: MD theme plays].

Maybe we'll find out in Mankind Divided?
In the original, which is set after both of these games, the world is in a much worse state, but nano augmentations are pretty much the end all be all in terms of power while also being almost undetectable by the naked eye. You and a handful of people are the only ones in the entire planet to be nano augmented. If you played the original, you'll remember that Gunther and Navarre are both jealous and cynical of your nanoaugmentations, both of them being heavily mechanically augmented. You can really see just from the trailers, in Mankind Divided augmented people are persecuted and murdered. Most likely from the events of Human Revolution. You can see how this is starting to tie in.
If the graphics of the original weren't so...dated...the huge leap in style might not be so noticeable. Anyway, Human Revolution and Mankind Divided are set in a Cyber-Renaissance, Deus Ex is set in a Dark Age (quite literally with one of the ending choices).
i liked that sentry bot
the huge legs carrying a tiny body reminded me of the bots in the original

It's not augmented lupus.
Its weird seeing a Deus Ex game that doesnt look comparatively like ass next to the games being released around the same time.
Say what you will about them, DE1 and HR are fucking great, and hell, i've heard Invisible War is pretty fine even with its faults, but they're not lookers.
This ones a looker though.
I though HR looked pretty nice when it came out.
I though HR looked pretty nice when it came out.
I think HR still compares to modern games, just as Mirror's Edge does. HR (especially in the Missing Link) has some of the best faux volumetrics ever. They also extensively use uncompressed low-resolution textures with point sampling in VERY intelligent ways, giving a lot of the lab environments very clean and sharp colors and edges.

Yeah, there's like a grand total of 11 mechanically augmented NPCs in the original. I'd say it ties in perfectly.
