The art director is a VERY hard worker. They went through so many phases during the concept stage of HR and even then, they knew how to improve on it almost immediately after hence why MD is looking even more of a realized world than HR.
Guy doesn't restrict himself in terms of inspiration either hence why we get these wonderful world building elements on the visual front. He's said in the past developers need to get ideas from everywhere not just what you think fits into a genre.
If Adam Jensen doesn't end up founding UNATCO I'll be very disappointed.

Granted, we haven't seen much of the actual game, but I'm not liking how a lot of the assets are looking, they look like they are just tossed into DDO at 1K and done with, and then there's a really heavy sharpen filter over everything. Maybe it's just the compression, I'm still hopeful this game is gonna be great, HR inspired a lot of faith in the team.
I wonder if we'll have to go through the process of reunlocking every single one of our augments all over again. It'd feel obnoxious to have to unlock things that we've already pretty much unlocked.
They'd probably give it some shitty excuse too, like "oh adam's injury made him lose his augment abilities" or something like that.

Why are you against the idea of unlocks in an RPG?

Because we all already unlocked them in the last game. It feels like a meaningless grind to reunlock something that we've already unlocked originally.
If they want to make us work for new augments and such-- I'm absolutely down for that. But at least let us keep the things we've already worked for.

You could only unlock like 1/2 or 3/4 of your total equipment in HR without NG+ or cheats, so I understand why some stuff would be locked away. There's also a ton of more stuff shown, so I'm sure a lot of stuff is unlocked by default (double takedowns) onto of all the new gadgets.

Because you were so fucking barebones in HR, I started playing it again and it is so awful how restricted you are before you have some options.
Also I am getting some Crysis vibes while watching this, not just the close-up and shit.

I'd imagine the task force he's part of will be connected to UNATCO in some way though I doubt Jensen himself will found it considering it's ties to MJ12.
McCann's score delivers as usual.
Also holy shit, the first half of the trailer looks like they ran the footage through a sharpening filter. Not saying it looks bad, but damn it's noticeable.
Everything else though looks incredible. Can't wait for this.

HR still holds up relatively well but the small and cramped level designs are a reminder of the subpar engine they used for the game.
Some of the assets are distractingly bad. Jensen has these dishes in his apartment and their textures are literally just their own UV layout.
