Cop Sucker Punches Former U.S Army Soldier for 45 Minute Response Time

If you were a plumber and you punched a customer you'd be fired instantly. Because the company would lose business, it's all very straightforward.
A cop should be worse, like facing criminal charges or something. But because it's not a business and there's no money on the line, it's not as clear cut.
I bet that cop was a Marine for about a week before he got kicked out.
Either way, strangling someone because you aren't doing your job is retarded and they should definitely be fired
"We are a professional hardworking agency".
OH?
oh....
Wow that man just got robbed and beaten up!
Lets punch him and choke him lol!!
Abuse of power much
I'm kind of horrified by the posts suggesting that the cop's actions, though wrong, were even the slightest bit justified by the victim's attitude. But, you see, that's why we have a trained police force. To DEFUSE situations like that in a professional manner. What, if not dealing with upset, angry, eccentric and hysterical that is the reason we have trained cops in the first place?
If it wasn't about that we could just hire a bunch of goons to beat the everloving shit out of everyone involved, and that's what I'm seeing right there. I'm not saying that the american law enforcement is made of fascist pricks, but we get that way too often. Someone should not be hiring assholes with a shit attitude and the body of a wrestler and let them stomp citizens into submission without proper investigation.
fuck cops
They could have just said "Sorry sir. Let's go speak with these burglars" and that would be it. But instead, they had to put on the tough guy facade and make asses of themselves on camera.
Oh look...a marine acting tough
Lol!! Dude gets knocked out bro! Straight up choked and made a bitch dude!
u wot m8
US cops are getting so much bad publicity recently, I feel bad for the good cops that are probably getting shit over what others have done but not these guys.
What the fuck America, seriously.
Wow dude, if you think this is 'showing' anyone, it isn't. A video surfaces of two police officers going over the line and you write a paragraph degrading the entire police department of the city?
Who are you? Who is going to read this and take you seriously?
How can you write things like "our goals: Deliver police services that satisfy citizen’s needs, Promote awareness and understanding between the Police Department and the people it serves, Foster a high quality culture throughout the organization.", then have officers punch a victim in the face for complaining about the officers taking 45 minutes to respond to an emergency and be taken seriously?

I feel that there can't be that many good cops since nothing happens to police officers who do something like this.

What's the freaking point of all that jibber-jabber anyway? Absolutely meaningless.

The creed of the police department was written and in place before this one man who acted on his own, was even born.
You are making connections that are not there. Your thought process is really spotty.
"Let's shut down the hospital because one doctor couldn't save a patient."

Except this is more akin to the doctor stabbing his patient with a scalpel in hope of removing whatever ill or disease the patient had.
There's a difference between doing your job and failing due to stuff you couldn't control and just outright sucking ass at your job and doing the exact opposite of it.
You try to save a life, you fail, shit happens VS You just stab the guy because he'll die anyway or something.

Not even in hope of curing the patient, it's basically like saying "well you're complaining about the pain too much so I'm going to stab you."

What do you mean the connections aren't there? That's the creed of VPD and the officers from the vid were from VPD. Are you saying that there is no connection between these two?
Either the creed should be upheld or not. Why would you even write things like that if you don't give a shit about them?
im sorry i just cant get over that the dude went full punk as soon as the officer took a fucking step

Why is he blaming the police department? Nothing happened except for a bad arrest.
The only reason this is such an uproar is because it was caught on video.
Bad seeds will always exist. Writing a letter will certainly not lead to him to change his future actions, and being so upfront and disrespectful to the entire police department, and everything it stands for just puts the PD on the defence.
It was the act of one man, it is not like the dispatch told them "wait 45 minutes, if the victim gets antsy, knock his ass out".
I'm typing this and I honestly can not understand how you can think this was the actions of the entire police department, and the fact not much happened to the officer (because of shotty video recording) makes the entire PD a cesspool of hatred and unprofessional-ism?
If there's bad seeds, there's a good chance the apple's going to suck also.
He works for and represents the police department, of course they'll also get caught in all this shit.

Yes. The whole PD is shit, fuck them, what assholes they are.
I fucking hate VPD, did you see what that one guy did yesterday?
You're way on the defensive there guy.
I'm not saying the whole PD is shit but the single fact that they let bad seeds such as this one represent them directly goes to show that the PD isn't really what it should be, its also really scary that they let him represent the PD.
I'd be shit scared to ever call the VPD if anything bad happened because it would be like a gamble on if I was getting a good cop or an asshole that will just choke me the fuck out because I'm pissed they arrived after 45 god damned minutes.
I like to gamble when I'm at the casino, not when I call the police department for what could be my life in extreme cases.

Because the department is responsible for it's officers. Same way an employer is responsible for his employees.
When an employee/officer doesn't do his job right, and the employer/department doesn't take action against said employee/officer and they don't distance themselves from the employee/officer and apologize and say that this is not what the employer/department stand for that means they are okay with it. And when an employer/department is okay with it's employees/officers not doing their job right they can take the blame.
It's the department's job to make it's officers uphold the creed, and if they don't the employer/department should take disciplinary action. I'd be fully supportive of VPD and say things like "it's not the entire department, just some bad apples" if they'd take action against the assholes. If they support them, that means they support their actions and that means they are the target of criticism of this situation.
It makes me greatly distressed to see someone like this in any remote position of power. Then again, the same could be said for countless others.
Video's right there. Get a lawyer and destroy him in court?
US cops are getting so much bad publicity recently, I feel bad for the good cops that are probably getting shit over what others have done but not these guys.
Yeah, a few videos here and there showing bad ones. What people don't realize is large departments have thousands of officers each. LAPD has something like 13,000 alone, and that's officers. Doesn't include the dispatchers, detectives, pencil pusher's, and so on

HAHAHAHAHAH, Laywers.... HAHAHAHAH "Justice" HAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAH

Do you? It's not like every government agency is corrupt down to the core.
By the way, that little outburst of yours makes you look silly.
What the cop should have done is to calm down and just told him to bring them to the crime scene. Instead, he pin down the victim like he was the criminal.
ackh i cant help but read the title like
