Okay I watched it and hoo boy it just devolved into sweet little lies, how compelling. Hope I don't get banned for missing that 1 minute of memeshit the first time around. In the IGN interviews (over an hour long btw) he talked about that specifically and said that it's not multiplayer in the classic sense because the world is so big that finding people is rare, and that it shouldn't be treated as a multiplayer experience because of that. Now what is vague or confusing?
YES, IT IS. Because regardless of that claim two people found each other, and didn't see each other in-game. It was notable enough that a developer tweeted about it but still didn't say anything about the issues when people have a lot of questions. He could have eliminated the entire controversy by saying "they didn't appear to see each other in game due to network troubles" or "there currently isn't a system in place to see other player's avatars". There is literally no reason to defend this other than being an overly defensive fan, it doesn't mean the game is bad they're just being far too vague, and I cannot imagine a reason for doing that other than to intentionally mislead people
If it wasn't for the fact this game is an indie darling, people wouldn't be defending this lack of clarity.
I'm pretty pleased that I didn't pre-order this now for full price. I might still pick it up when it goes on sale though.
I talked to a few of my friends and about 5 changed their minds and refunded rip 300 dollars for hellogames
At least Todd Howard technically told the truth. Skyrim technically had infinite quests since certain ones repeated, and Fallout 4 "just worked".
Had Sony not been involved with this game it probably wouldn't of caused such a massive shitstorm from all sides, just another throwaway niche indie title for funsies.
there's such a shit hate bandwagon surrounding this game and I'm over here naming squid and having a tiiime.
there's such a shit hate bandwagon surrounding this game and I'm over here naming squid and having a tiiime.
That's cool, it's a shame you can't experience it with anyone else though.
That's cool, it's a shame you can't experience it with anyone else though.
That's why Hybrid's sharing it with us I bet.
Keep in mind that there has only been two players making one attempt at finding each other in the game, and Sean Murray acknowledged it on Twitter, still talking like it's supposed to be possible. A frustratingly mysterious tweet, but regardless, we don't know enough to be posting this many threads and videos about no multiplayer and lying Sean just yet, in my opinion.
