The Thing
Fight Club
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (I wouldn't call this a cinematic masterpiece, but I liked it)
Watchmen
I think Burn After Reading is a comedy classic. A lot of people seem to say it's the worst movie they've ever seen but I don't know why. I think it's because the plot takes so many unexpected turns or maybe because the humor is dark as hell, but have these guys ever seen a Coen Brothers film? The casting is perfect and watching all the wacky characters interact is very fun and I like how the plot is very unpredictable.
So many of my friends watched this and they said it was the worst movie. I asked them why and they said it's because they didn't understand it. And I told them, so because you don't understand it that makes it a bad movie or are you just too dumb to understand the funny things they mock in our society. All of them like the simple funny things like Dude, where's my car. Bunch of idiot stoners, my friends were.

Probably not that good if you have epilepsy or even get a strong case of motion sickness.
Pretty sure everyone agrees that Tron was awesome as fuck
Indeed it was so awesome when they were fighting with the mega light boomerangs. And the bike death races, and everything!
I was so glad I went to see it. It was mind-blowing! Or maybe it was the weed.. Either way, fucking awesome.
Also the part where the guy drives his actual motorcycle in the city before entering the Tron Legacy place, and sneaking around the corporate building and shit.

I dunno man, Dude, where's my car was fucking awesome for some reason when I last watched it. It's a good movie to just tune out and stop giving a fuck to.
I did try watching Burn After Reading once, missed like half of it, so I didn't have a fucking clue what was happening.

i recommend it to everyone.

Say what you will, I still love this movie.
Cloverfield.
sue me.
The Howling.
American Werewolf in London gets all the acclaim but I think The Howling poops all over it. Better werewolf effects, better humor, and it's scarier.
How To Train Your Dragon. A lot of people said it was 'good' but I think it goes faaaaaaaaar beyond that. My favorite movie ever.
Cloverfield wasn't very well received too, and I thought it was a great movie.
I thought the Godzilla(1998) movie was pretty good
The Rock.
The film is incredible. The actors, the music, the action.. the SPLOSIONS..
Yeah makes me wet.
Lord of war!

Actually, I'd say it's one of my favorite movies.
The Tourist
I enjoyed suckerpunch. I know the story etc was lacking but liked the visuals and the sexy Asian chick.
District 9. It gets a lot of flack from people I know but for the budget it had (pretty low budget) it was pretty fucking amazing.
That was nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Visual Effects, and Best Editing.
It was also a considered a sleeper hit.
Never heard of someone who gives the movie any flack.
Doesn't belong in this thread.
Stranger Than Fiction

i saw that on an airplane.
i would have enjoyed it more if i wasn't so burnt out, and would have rather been sleeping.
i love will ferrell, the way he freaks out will never get old for me
I'll throw in another plug for Children of Men. There's a lot of interesting stuff going on and a lot of important themes at work. It doesn't deserve to be ignored like it has.

Burn After Reading is great
I have this suspicion that people who don't appreciate that movie are huge fans of the hangover
KUNG POW: ENTER THE FIST
AAAAAW YEEEEEEEAAAH
I know it's been repeated like fuck on here, but Children of Men deserves way fucking more attention than it got. None of my friends ever say it, and it wad only nominated for best cinematography iirc. Characters as real as life, themes that drill down to the core, an unbelievable musical score (Eternity's Sunrise), and a story so strong willed and masterfully executed, I was in too serious of a mood to watch The Daily Show afterward.
I should've given a reason for liking Transformers ROTF: Its simply so mindlessly entertaining yet awesome that I can watch it over and over without it getting old.
