Guys, I'm 125 words over. I'm not gonna send it in just yet, but do you think that's acceptable? (I know in the OP it says about being words over, but I want to know if 125 words is ridiculous or not.) Also I think it's reasonably compelling. :>

Take advantage of that time to edit it and make sure there isn't any extraneous writing. But fear not! We won't be turning down submissions for going over. If you can truly say that you wrote something that is worth the extra words then submit it, and we'll still give it a fair reading. However, if we're having a hard time deciding between your story and another, and the other is within our respective guidelines, the extra words will serve as a minor disadvantage.

Submitted mine, a slightly edited version of my Creative writing coursework. Just under 1,000 words so a nice easy read for you guys. May add more though.
