The Worst Thing You Have Heard Someone Say About Music Mk. III -Rohemian Bhapsody

So Djent is like a sub-style of a sub-genre? :unsmith:
''Djent'' is part of a style but it isn't a style on it's own, it is more of a technique.
[editline]dude[/editline]
I just realized that I said the same thing as you.
Yes. There is a very thin line between style and technique, especially when compared with the difference of genre. Referring to a guitarists playing style and playing technique both would be the same idea
Avenged Sevenfold are a brilliant band and that their lead singer totally doesn't sound like a clogged hoover.
Dumbs from angsty br00tul metal \m/ children.
Plus indy is kind of like punk in the term is it both a lifestyle and musical style. It's basically used to term the music a member of the said culture would be accustomed to.
I'd hardly say there's an indie lifestyle, most indie kids are middle class kids who've too much money.
Old (rap in this case) music is bad because it isn't new.

Yes, they are an awful following. Regardless it's still a lifestyle to own too much shit and follow certain criteria to fit in
Old (rap in this case) music is bad because it isn't new.
It is, I only listen to music that is so obscure that you can't even comprehend it.
Djent used to be just to describe a sound but the way it tends to be used very commonly in this recent wave of 8 string progressive metal results in people using it to describe those bands.
I make music and make sure it has zero listeners so it becomes the most hipster thing ever created. :smug:
Djent is a meme with music attached

Franke is cool but 90% of djentlings I encounter are welcome to suck an enormous chode

True on both parts. I like this guy.
When people say stuff like Fleet Foxes isn't folk just because it's not centuries old and passed down generation to generation
When people say stuff like Fleet Foxes isn't folk just because it's not centuries old and passed down generation to generation
I don't feel the straight-forward "folk" in Fleet Foxes, I know that might make people sad but I see them more "indie folk". Just like Bon Iver.
I hate it when people say that Justin Bieber makes bad music. And I'm totally serious here. He may not make the music you like and he may have millions of fans that are 12 year old girls but there is an audience for his music. His songs aren't lyrically worse than for example Coldplay's(which is considered "good music" by most people) lyrics.
For comparison, Coldplay - The Scientist:
Come up to meet you, tell you I'm sorry
You don't know how lovely you are
I had to find you, tell you I need you
Tell you I set you apart
Justin Bieber - Overboard:
It feels like we’ve been out at sea
So back and forth that’s how its seems
Whoa and when I want to talk
You say to me
That if its meant to be, it will be
So crazy in this thing we call love
The love that we got that we just cant give up.
When comparing the two, Justin Bieber's lyrics seems superior. Coldplay's lyrics are straightforward, don't have a deeper meaning, are emo as FUCK when on the other hand Justin Bieber's lyrics are much better; they have a deeper meaning: He describes deep feelings with metaphores that are fitting. Mister Martin can learn from that.
[sp]In case you didn't notice, this is a Coldplay bash.[/sp]

Okay, so that's the lyrics
I rarely care about the lyrics at al

Coldplay have personality, whether you like it or not, some people like the vibe and texture like most bands with personality.
Justin Bieber is manufactured, however he can sing. His voice and expression isn't very good but I personally don't relate too much with teen pop.
I can put aside straightforward lyrics if they sound like the singer's putting their upmost amount of emotion into it.

Emotion is something coldplay lacks.

Why the Coldplay hate all of a sudden?
They ask for no trouble.
I don't like Coldplay

Chris Martin's a colossal douche who steals music. They ask for it a lot more than many bands

Yeah, now it's clear. :psyduck:
Coldplay bring nothing new to the table. Just like Snow Patrol
I don't think Snow Patrol are all bad neither.
They're notbad, just boring. Kings of Leon fall under that category at the moment.

True, Kings of Leon have really dropped their game.
[editline]19th June 2011[/editline]
Nonetheless, I don't think the music from these bands are supposed to be particularly "interesting".
Neither, it's just something I look for.
Coldplay's first album is nice though. :3:
I'll listen to that.
Snow Patrol are monumentally middle class.
