I haven't listened to that many soundtracks, but you should really start to listen to more... well... "actual" music.
True story.
wow hakita, you're an a+ hypocrite.
True story.
I love myself. And I admit, that is a dumb post and it is the only one I have ever made because I'm perfect otherwise [editline]13th March 2012[/editline]
wow hakita, you're an a+ hypocrite.
And loving it, baby
Time signatures other than 4/4 are just pretentious The worst thing to happen to music was electronic instruments Why would you go to a concert so loud you need ear protection? They should be illegal Frankly there's no need to explore rock or pop beyond the Beatles, the rest of it is trash Avant-garde jazz isn't jazz at all although I suppose you could call it music at a stretch, unlike free jazz My mum is a gold-mine

Actually, the first one is a bit of a fib because she's ok with 3/4, but otherwise she's pretty harsh on anything experimental, mostly because for some reason she thinks it's wrong to intentionally make music which is inaccessible.
but I don't think they make it like that for the sole purpose of being inaccessible lol they just have a more niched target audience than lots of other music
At Soundwave Festival I told my mate he should have come to see Gojira in favour of Steel Panther, and he backs up his reasoning for not listening to Gojira - a band very common to those he listens to - because apparently all of their songs sound the same. It felt really cheap seeing as he listens to Metallica religiously, among many other generic heavy metal bands.
My Music Theory Teacher said "Pink Floyd, and Jimi Hendrix we're not innovative!"

People labeling certain key signatures or time signatures pretentious drive me insane. 4/4 C-major errday.
23/16 erryday all days
on the other hand I find myself feeling really cynical whenever I hear a band praised for time signatures. I guess I've endured too many boring conversations about Rush and Tool. of course I appreciate hearing them used well, but when a big portion of a group's reputation is time signatures it does nothing to stir my interest.
irregular rhythms are popular because most people can't count or understand beyond the basic 4/4 beat.
23/16 erryday all days
59/48 all tha way
'Deadmau5 is dubstep'
anyone ever who called any music "not real music"
My Music Theory Teacher said "Pink Floyd, and Jimi Hendrix we're not innovative!"
The worst thing I've ever heard anyone say about music had something to do with how blues music was useless and boring. Said person listened to Lil' Wayne on a regular basis, of course.
