The Worst Thing You Have Heard Someone Say About Music Mk. III -Rohemian Bhapsody

X&Y is a good album. I don't think much of Viva La Vida although one or two are nice.
I think they're starting to go out of form these days anyway.
You listen to the shitty kind of music.
I dunno about you guys but I enjoyed Viva La Vida the most out of all Coldplay's albums

It's definitely enjoyable, no denying that for me.
I don't feel the straight-forward "folk" in Fleet Foxes, I know that might make people sad but I see them more "indie folk". Just like Bon Iver.
Well they're not indie because they're signed to a major label, and I'd say that they are folk because of the ideals they put forth lyrically and the sound of their music

I enjoyed the Scary Movie films better than the Godfather films. That doesn't mean that they're better.
I think there is a difference between enjoyable and good.

Yeah I wasn't talking about the literal meaning, I'm talking about the style it has become. That kind of "lackadasical, monotonous" vocal which isn't really monotonous but hits those points continuously which makes you feel nice.
You see how vague I'm being, that's indie. :smugdog:

I like The Godfather a lot, but enjoy Goodfellas more.

Hahahah you're not making any sense at all now :P
Hahahah you're not making any sense at all now :P
There's this floppy sense of "urgency" in the music, that is mixed with that sense of "trying to get the emotion out" but not seeming too dramatic for its own good.
Make no sense all day, erry day. :frogbon:

I don't give a shit about what's "good", it's good if I enjoy it.

Yeah, I was just stating that there's a difference between the fact that something is good and the opinion that something is good.
the fact that something is good
Woah there.

Also who's the guy in your avatar, he has a cool beard
William Fitzsimmons, an in my opinion very good singer-songwriter. He writes kind of emo folk rock. You may have heard his songs on Greys Anatomy if you watch that show.

I had this discussion last week and it was settled on that Fllet Foxes are Neo-Folk as it were. They're not Post folk because they stick to conventional chords etc. but they have a modern twang to them.

:geno:
I'll stick with Indie Folk.

I'd agree with Neo-Folk, even though it's a pretty lame-sounding term (Makes me imagine weird folk with synthesizers or some shit)
BUT, they're NOT indie no matter what you say, they're signed to Sub Pop. Which is a major label. Which means they're not independent.

Again, I didn't mean the literal meaning of indie. :v:
How about if I said "New Folk" rather than Neo-Folk?
But are indy cars independent?
(rhetorical question)
No, they are from India. :eng101:
[editline]20th June 2011[/editline]
Or was it "made by indians" (as in native americans)? I forget.
I'm afraid you are all wrong.
