I don't think it should turn black are you holding the flame directly below/on the weed in the vape? If so you're probably toasting it or giving it too much heat it should only turn a dark brown when it's done vaping... i think.

It's cool! As long as it did the job eh! Just means you can't use the vaped weed in edibles or re-smoke it if you like doing that.. try not to toast it so much next time save up all your vaped weed and make some brownies ;)
