well, today was something. Went to work at 4, when i got there i saw a few police boats, think nothing of it and weed wack a bit. Coworker goes on his break so i sit in the Gator and watch as the boat goes up and down river. Then a fire dept boat comes up and talks to the police one. A short while later a state helicopter comes by and goes up and down river. Now I know something is up but the people on the boats arent saying anything. Later on i call my boss, tells me there is probably someone in the river. So i get the binoculars and do what i can to help. Then as the heli passes for the last time and stops over a spot. The boats converge and one of the small ones goes to the bank. I look with my binoculars to see a 11 year old kid being dragged out of the water near the bank by the fire dept. The pulled the body to the bank to check for life, but unsurprisingly he was dead. As much as i wanted to look away, i couldnt, it was surreal watching this unfold. They put the body into the boat and took it to the main fire boat, put the white cover over it and went off. There were a bunch of people at the docks to see what was going on, and they kept asking me and whatnot. It got to a point where i didnt want to talk to people, something about watching the kids body completely limp as they dragged him out of the water and hopelessly checked for vital signs that just, idk. The kid i saw was definitely the second kid that went missing yesterday.
