So I actually did work and learnt something in school today, I wasn't very high by that point
I find that doing work while a bit baked makes it feel more rewarding as you're doing it, but I have this thing where if I only feel a bit baked I don't feel satisfactorily baked, and want to smoke more (at which point forget the learning...)

Yes. So FPGA sellers will tell you the megahashes/second rate of their hardware, which tells you the exact mining speed. My 5850, at about 300 MH/s, will submit about 3.6 shares per minute, at 0.0000217 BTC per share (depends on the mining pool you choose), which equates to about 1 coin per week.
