fuark yes. im back from my stint in the looney bin :) got suspended for 3 weeks by school for being "a risk to myself" and got sent back home to recover mentally. it made it worse and worse, decided i would just go back to boarding school and hope that i dont do something stupid. no bowls for 4 weeks or so :(

Ultra low tolerance high over, decided to run, really brings back the high. awesome.

I've been to japan and learnt japanese for like 6 years haha I just tripped hard as and it was awesome

what a great night, got high again with by 3 best friends, played mario party and super smash brothers on the N64. My den looks like a fucking dorm room, there are empty pizza boxes, candy bags and wrappers everywhere, a few empty beers and ice tea cans lying around, and an N64 connected to the tv. And i feel asleep on the couch until 12pm. ugh time for cleanup though.

Quick question to everyone. Did anyone else as a kid sat in a car on a long journey ever look out the window, and imagine a guy running and jumping over the telephone wires/hedges etc? Since it's impossible to get a job at the minute, I've been thinking about making a game in an attempt to keep creative. What do you think about a game based around that thought? It'll probably be a 3d thing made in either UDK or Unity I'm asking in this thread because 1, I'm pretty baked right now; and 2, because I trust you guys more with your criticisms than the rest of the forum.

Obviously not a big or serious game, as it'll be my first time actually making any sort of application. Just a small android game or something like that. The way I'm envisioning it at the moment is like, dynamic cables, enemy birds you have to avoid/jump on or something, speed limit signs going past warning the player about dynamic speed changes. Maybe speed cameras blinding the player for a little bit or something. All in 3d, sort of like a side scrolling temple runner but much faster paced like super meat boy. Broke automerge! :(

I used to do that all the time! I still do occasionally after a spliff with my headphones in on a long greyhound journey.

it would be pretty hard making it different than a temple running game, it sounds like you would just be adding features to a clone. Maybe finding a new game mechanic to build around will produce the unique game that you want.

With it being side scrolling, the dynamic speed changes, rope physics on the phone cables, squishy hedges etc. It would be from the point of view of the passenger of the car, so the camera would move within a certain boundary. Like, not locked to the character, but gently moves depending on how high/low they are. Sorry if that doesn't make much sense. What do you think about different levels based on different roads? Like countryside levels, city levels, motorway levels (jumping from moving cars etc) and the like?

Like countryside levels, city levels, motorway levels (jumping from moving cars etc) and the like?[/QUOTE] Definitely country-side, I used to do the same thing you were talking about always on country roads, because there are always those little poles with the reflecting lights on them and I'd have the imagined man jump over each one. but you could always do the other ones too, maybe make them optional, to clearify, make all 3 areas, and then have the player choose which one they want.
