I literally have too much to say so i'll keep this rather brief: Continental just really applies to a small window of philsophy, not anything that isn't technically analytical. That whole section. How do you not at all stop and think "hm, maybe i'm being a pompous intellectual". You may not like the philosophy and it's basis may not be incredibly sound but you're literally just writing them all off as moronic and imbecilic thinking at best and that only pseudo intellectuals would take interest and these pseudo intellectuals just read the books to look smart and parrot terms. The creators of these philosophies were idiots as well and their terms they created to explain aspects are completely invalid and dumb as well. The whole post is just tailored as such to say "you are stupid if don't read analytical and you just want to look smart among your peers if you read anything but". Its literally just arrogant and pompous. Furthermore, i've personally read Nietzsche and i didn't have the slightest of issues of reading and understanding his concepts from what i have read. Most of the posts i see you make strike me with an odd sense of familiarity and i've finally placed that familiarity: You remind me heavily of an acquaintance of mine in highschool. A self described "intellectual", the kid was smart i'll give him that, but he knew he was smart and held himself in such high regard above others are wouldn't stop reminding you about how smart he is. Made a mistake? "THAT'S BECAUSE YOU'RE A FUCKING IDIOT I WOULD NEVER HAVE DONE SUCH A THING". He used to make me laugh quite often because he loathed me. One day he explained my "situation", that i apparently beat the system and abuse it to my advantage so the school thought i was "smart" and placed me in these higher courses. I beat the system because i would never do the reading material, never studied, and retained an overall higher GPA than him despite a failing math grade. The kid was hilarious in all honesty. I'm not saying you're him, i'm just saying with that last post especially you have a tendency to remind me of him. Also, was listening to a Black Keys track and ONE OF THESE THINGS DON'T BELONG HERE: Its not even a recommended video, it's literally in the related.
I get that video in the related way too much.
The 'related' videos are often targeted to the user. It's why toy ads often show up for me, even in videos where it'd be otherwise unrelated.
No no it's not based at all on my browsing patterns. There isn't one furry thing in my browsing patterns not only on youtube, but on this whole browser. I use two browsers. Only one has visits to furry sites and it's not this browser. Also i do not have anything even remotely furry related on my history. Additionally if its recommended by youtube, it's in the first 4 or so videos and has "recommended" by the viewcount on the thumb. Additionally this video only and consistently appears on that video. It's not recommended.
Additionally if its recommended by youtube, it's in the first 4 or so videos and has "recommended" by the viewcount on the thumb.
I didn't mean recommended videos, and am quite aware they show up as it keeps reminding me to check subscriptions. The related, though, are targeted, but in a different (primarily more broad) way.
Just went kayaking this evening for 3 hours straight, playing memory games and singing stupid-ass songs (99 bottles of beer on the wall...) with my friend. I had a hell of a time, I hope everyone else's day was as good or better than mine!
Kayaking in a calm ocean/slow river sounds so relaxing...
Kayaking in a calm ocean/slow river sounds so relaxing...
It is! I slept on that kayak for 30-ish minutes before returning home.
...didn't you worry about drifting off or something? I imagine it'd be pretty easy to kayak back but I'd freak the fuck out.
The idea of thinking you are the wrong species from the one you are originally is utterly laughable and makes absolutely no sense. It's nothing more than a person with poor mental health who needs help.
Things are generally only considered mental disorders when they negatively affect the person's life, it's why homosexuality isn't in the DSM anymore If the extent of someone's "otherkin"-ness involves posting on furaffinity and drawing things for deviantart who cares If they start chasing rabbits down the street and eating the neighbour's cat it's time for some intervention In many cases it seems to be a self-made delusion anyway, someone wants to be an animal so they believe they are for long enough and it just kind of sticks
Google knows a lot about you.
How then? I don't browse furry sites or google furry stuff on this browser. I keep all of that to chrome. On chrome i do not log into any google service nor do i google "gay furry porn" or anything of that like at all on that browser. [editline]2nd April 2013[/editline] Edit: I went on with my roommates laptop, same video pops up. It's not me.

Either you should have a serious chat with your roommate then, or, I shouldn't log into google when searching that stuff.
I don't really care honestly, i was just trying to assure you guys that for some reason, that video is in related for some realllllllly fucking weird reason and it's not me.
Can you link the black keys video?
Alright I'm otherkin and I'm kinda annoyed by what people are saying so I'm just gonna hop in and say my piece and hop back out of the thread for a bit.
The idea behind otherkin is a sign of deeper running psychological problems Not saying it makes them a bad person but they are obviously disconnected from reality.
Do you have any ideas what it would be? Because I sure as hell don't, what on earth would cause such a thing, considering it's such a variety of "symptoms" (I say this on quotes not because I'm offended by the notion of it being a mental thing, but I'm saying it because it's a thing that happens in multiple ways to people who are). Not taking offense, but I'm wondering what you think it would be because I don't know enough about psychology or symptoms at the moment to figure it out myself.
It's one thing to identify as something other than your assigned biological sex but it's another thing entirely to think you're a fucking cat. [editline]2nd April 2013[/editline] I mean I'm sure they're nice people but come on you got to agree that's a little screwy.
I appreciate the thought of people hoping I'm nice because that's all I really want to be, even if the world isn't exactly peachy 100% of the time (not saying HYOOMANITY SUCKS because I don't believe that shit)
How do you figure out you're an otherkin
Uhh it's kinda a weird thing when I'm trying to put it into words. Some people have it from phantom limbs, some people it's from dreams, some people just kinda feel like "yeah that's right" furry or not. In fact I have a 'kin friend who's wholly disgusted by furry porn when he was finding out if that's what he was. It's not a consistent thing at all. In my case I was having phantom limbs I didn't even want and was actually upset at the notion of it happening, figuring something was wrong with me (not ruling that out though, that's kinda a good sign of someone who's otherkin is thinking twice about their experiences and feelings). Myself, I started feeling phantom limbs that I didn't even want and it kinda went from there to dreams. Not trying to call anyone out but it just kinda bugs me this is what people think of others' beliefs or feelings and just calling it wrong and dumb. Aight I'm done talking about it carry on.
If it wasn't half past midnight I'd SO be doing some vocal recordings right now :c
Can you link the black keys video?
Yeah sure, tell me if it pops up for you too, because it seems to pop up on both my roommate's laptop, my desktop, my laptop, and my phone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGjeJRl3pFw Edit: Well fuck, now it's not popping up anymore. This must make me look so good. Ugh My ass hurts now
Literally the very basis of otherkin is believing you were born into the wrong species. This is a delusion. However the very basis of otherkin incorporates spirituality and a monolithic perception of consciousness believing that the mental state is the "true" form of life and takes priority over physicality. So you believe your soul is in the wrong form. This more or less just makes the existence of otherkin as a legitimate thing impossible to argue against or for as those who claim they are otherkin are approaching it on a completely subjective manner, not objective. Additionally people can argue that its the very fact that it's a mental spirituality thing based on subjectivity that confirms that "otherkin", i used quotes because i find the notion scientifically baseless, is a medical mental disorder.
"Wow! I just had sex... better tell Facepunch!!!"
Hey rajiin, instead of rating me dumb how about you offer an actual counter argument? EDIT: So you effectively concede then. Pathetic.
"Wow! I just had sex... better tell Facepunch!!!"
You're one to talk, hun.
"Wow! I just had sex... better tell Facepunch!!!"
I don't see any problem with this
You're one to talk, hun.
and you're not ;)
and you're not ;)
Now now kitties, let's not argue over who is or isn't having sex.
Ugh My ass hurts now
Is that really how it works? :v
Why do people use hun, dear etc condescendingly like that?
Why do people use hun, dear etc condescendingly like that?
well if you don't know, dear hun, then maybe you're not ready to know run along now and play kiddo, adults are talking oh god that was rude
I go with the whole "do whatever you want as long as it doesn't fuck up other people's lives" route.
