Did anybody else see a bit of awkwardness with the voice actors for the show?
They just looked really uncomfortable to me.

i dont know about you guys but i laughed most of the movie. especially the part where the guy was about to kill his friend and was saying all different kinds of curse words that made literally no sense.

max is already pissed because MLP has like consumed his old best friend, the guy with the blonde hair. He said that MLP has changed him completely and he cant stand the fandom. But his friend, being a fuckhead, bombards max with MLP shit which pissed him off. Like the only person i feel sorry for is max in the whole movie.
I've personally seen two friends descend into bronyism and encountered four neckbeards that were bronies before I met them.
One of them became addicted to the show completely and started collecting toys, half of his basement is covered in them and mlp colouring books. Pinkie pie seems to be his favourite pony as it's his desktop background, his computer desktop, his firefox theme and his button pins on his b.r.o.n.y. jacket.
The other became depressed, celestia is his favourite (horse?) He broke up with his girlfriend, underwent depression then left the province to live with his dad.
I won't go in-depth with the four others but they seem to be following the 'buy everything' example.

It is also specifically made to be easy for children to draw which means that with very little effort you can have a drawing that'll be loved, worshipped and swallowed by the entire community.

I don't really need to cherrypick when I see a bad fanart beating some genuinely good art, this is a comparison on a single list.
Talented or not, it's still going to make the top just because of the fans.
A trace from the show could beat this [very good] image which is what makes me sad.
I've seen it happen, I've seen it first-hand too. Detail and effort doesn't seem to make much of a difference. The same rewards for very different levels of effort.

draw a completely original piece after hours of work->loved just as much as a trace, no more.

I'm saying that the brony movement is so powerful that you can bring a 0 effort drawing of rarity to the top of the art pile just because of the number of people who'll instantly like it for ponies.
You can of course bring an extremely well-drawn image of rarity that's been in the 'shop for weeks being worked on and it will only do just as well as a trace because there's no real appreciation for the effort, time spent or quality of the work.

Then again that's the problem with anything popular. Look at all the anime characters people draw or the "base" culture on deviantart. They all get the same or more attention than deserving works. It's a popularity contest, and if you want to top it, you gotta pander to the fans.

Welcome to the art world, things that a lot of people like for shit reasons are more noticed than things that few people like for great reason. Pictures of kittens and marshmallows with faces drawn on them are just as much of a plague right now

There are too many of them, the fandom has reached the critical mass of constant annoyance.
I don't see marshmallows or kittens like, ever but I do see a trace of mlp a day (if I'm lucky and don't see more).
