Friendship Is Magic, Unreleased Doc - General

I would like to start off saying I do have a negative disposition of the fandom. (read: I fucking hate it) I just want to point out that the bronies that everyone complains about are the [I]vocal minority.[/I] There are plenty of perfectly normal people who participate in what would be considered less that normal activities. You don't think that a lot of furries are perfectly normal people outside of that fandom? Why is it so hard to grasp that there's only a small amount of bronies who actually fit into the category of "hurr durr autistic sperglord nerdking" and those are the vocal minority that soil the reputation of the entire fandom. With that said, I think a children's show is a stupid thing to obsess over in such detail (but again there's a difference between obsession and merely enjoying it.) To be honest, what's different between watching Adventure Time or Spongebob or Regular Show compared to MLP? Some false guise of manliness? Shit, I don't know, but it's ridiculous. Let people enjoy what they want to enjoy. As long as it isn't destructive (and bronies generally aren't, and if you think they affect you negatively it's usually your fault for letting them) then what's the problem?

I understand that this show's fandom isn't totally made of neckbeards and fucking creeps. But I still fucking hate everything related to MLP with a fiery passion, fans included if they start to shove shit about the show down my throat. Also videos like this totally aren't helping the normal fan's case. The video is filled with neckbeards, creeps, social rejects and depressed people, it's fucking sad.

And everybody's solution to that problem is they don't click the thumbnails and then they move on. Why is ponies different for you? Sure there's a lot of them, but there's a lot of anime videos as well, and kitten videos, and idiotic bad quality videos, and whatever the hell.

It may be a reach but I feel fandoms have a parallel with religion, in that a lot of people are reinforced in religion by this group mentality, and they construct their own society within a delusional bubble, it makes it very easy for them to bolster their ideas no matter crazy or delusional they become, or how weird or stupid they look to the general public.

Honestly what does this show have over other fucking HUNDREDS of shows of similar tone, similar writing styles, similar distribution and similar time slots that warrants people to obsess over it? I don't get it. Why this one? It's okay to like it but why go all the way into obsession? Why ponies?

I'm still arguing about the unoriginality of it all and how much everything relating to it gets disproportionately liked just because it's part of a fandom. I also stated that the fandom itself is so big that no matter how shitty something is, it's gonna be voted up/loved. MLP is one of the biggest instant-win cards out there at the moment and that's why I dislike it. This is so damn sad. I wish i wasn't such a cynical bastard so i could at-least have a few giggles at this show, it looks so damn cute and enjoyable. It harkens back to my childhood full of cartoons and having a good time. But I see that show and think [i]The fuck?[/i] I see the people in the documentary and go [i]the fuck?[/i] I was pitying these people, then i saw the segment on the band.
