Hahaha oh god that neckbeard on the very first guy...
He talkchs like thisch Oh my god, I was a bit ignorant on how far this would go. Its SORT of ok if it made them happier but... HAHHAHAHA some guy asked for baby oil for a doll or something
This makes me feel bad for watching the show. Literally the only thing I do is watch the show and that's it, maybe had a pony name on steam for a while to piss people off. The fact that I could be even remotely associated with these oddballs just turns me off even bothering tuning in for the third season.
This is tantamount to saying saying you feel bad for liking girls because you don't want to be associated with the oddballs that rape girls. Just because there are dumb people in a certain group, doesn't mean they are the epitome of said group. Most bronies are normal people, the spergs are the ones who were filmed. I refuse acknowledge the existence of dumb people as a reason to be ashamed of liking My Little Pony. A brony, by definition, is someone who likes the show. Nowhere does it say that you have to be autistic or dumb, nor does it say that you must have at least an x amount of pony toys/shirts/whatever. I don't have any pony merchandise myself and I'm not planning on buying any.
A brony is not someone who likes the show. If you are identifying as a brony you're identifying as a brony, which has a p. defined subculture. If you are someone who likes the show, you're someone who fucking likes the show.
Hey look its Fuzzy Lumpkins!

Depending on your views, this could be something unfortunate that we'll never be able to get rid of.
I like the show and I watch it, but I guess you can take anything too far.

Even if it just means "someone who watches the show", appending a term like that to yourself is undeniable proof that you are elevating the fact that you watch the show to a higher importance than just as a show that you watch. That's what I mean. There's a vast segregation between anybody who calls themselves a brony and anybody who doesn't call themselves a brony, and that's it. The action of doing so.
If I type a wrong password it says Sorry, that password was incorrect. Please try again. But if I type the right password that message goes away but the page doesn't move What the fuck is wrong with the link
I'm personally annoyed by bronies because a big part of a gaming community I used to be part of started turning the place into a brony community, using pony references in unrelated forum topics, admin reposting PMV's from EQ Daily on the front page, using ponies on the community's official t-shirts. And it's really hard to let go of a place you've grown to like. I witnessed the transformation of not one but a whole group of my friends into bronies.
the whole thing with the word brony, I agree with cheeseman here they defined it originally as an older male who likes the show. Arguably that's about anyone who's looked at it and not hated it. However, there's this side of it. People who go out of their way to say "YES, I am a brony". those guys are the ones who are much more into it than just "liking" the show. Despite the rather broad definition that everyone seems to adhere to, I think it really does comes down to the equivalent of liking anime compared to being an 'otaku', or collecting stuff as a hobby and being a pack-rat.

The definition states that a brony is someone who likes the show. I like the show, therefore I am a brony. Me saying that I am a brony does not prove at all that I watch the show to a higher importance than just a show. I don't. I watch the show, I like the music and fan music and I read a comic about it every now and then. The real difference is not between a "brony" and "someone who likes the show", but rather a "brony" and "a(n obnoxious) member of the brony community".
I don't really see why people even talk about bronies these days, anyone who actually identifies as a brony is probably autistic enough not to listen when you try and tell them how dumb they are so why even bother basically, the fandom is a very pointless, convoluted thing that's only really there so there's something to talk about, and in the case of that super-angry "omfg edgy cynical~" guy, something to make people look more deep and flawed and interesting than they actually are. it's trying to equate a friend steadily getting more and more autistic and annoying to some kind of Shakesperean tragedy, and that in itself is making the show out to be just as big as the bronies like to imagine it is. it is tragic in a way, but it's almost entirely because people want it to be tragic simply so there's something to talk about. it's silly.
do you run around and announce you are a brony
I don't.
What the fuck some guy in the comments is saying that the video is showcasing "the good side" of the fandom. What video did he watch? [editline]10th June 2012[/editline] Christ, the last guy they interview genuinely needs help badly.
I really don't think it makes sense to argue about some hard line between the 'good' people who just watch the show and the 'bad' bronies. It is much more fluid than that. It's a fandom alright, and many bronies do indeed see the fandom as something important, so they came up with calling themselves bronies. But really this doesn't by itself make them 'bad' like those we see in the video. I'm really confused on this matter, because I feel like the odd one out. I feel like I'm a reasonable, not very vexing nor annoying person, yet when it comes to ponies, I am, or at least was, completely off the deep end. So if you ask me, it is possible to be a batshit crazy pony fag, without being obnoxious about it. I don't bring it up unless I'm in a thread/forum relating to it, or if someone else brings it up. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of people like that, so there's really no way to just make a fine line between "bronies" and "people who just watch the show". It's a line between annoying people and non-annoying people. And ultimately it is a line between people you like and people you don't like. You may percieve "brony" as being a denominator for whether or not you will like someone, but I don't think it is. What really determines is is how they act about it, which is shown in the video. I don't know where I was going with this, but I just feel strange about seeing you classify the whole fandom, when I feel like I'm part of the group you're trying to color as annoying, obnoxious and loud. ("taking it too far", not just a person who watches the show.)
Please someone bash my head with a rock
"You can't force someone to be a brony" "You can't force someone to pledge celibacy for the rest of their life" same sentences
That was pretty interesting. I have a friend whom is a psych major and would be really interested in this. Thanks! EDIT: No seriously, I wasn't being all jokey. Some of these people do look really depressed and probably need professional help.

-ohsnip-
Am I the only person who just doesn't care about bronies and doesn't care what they do? Some people have hate or pity on them but I just strictly don't care, let them do what they want.
Even after making a account on this shitty website it still won't accept my password. Well.. it kinda accepts it, then stays on the same page. [edit] Switched to firefox and it worked HOLY SHIT LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT NECKBEARD
That Max dude plays some pretty sweet banjo. That's all I have to say.
I watch MLP, but what a sad bunch of dudes.
He looks like those disturbed serial killers on movies
I watch the show and occasionally talk about it with other friends that watch it too, but that's about it. Some people just go too far, like in the video.
I was worried for a second this was the documentary being produced by John de Lancie. Glad it wasn't.
It's on youtube now Notice the dislike bar.
I can't wait for the YouTube comments to go insane Its going to be like a console flame war x5 Brony vs Anti-Brony all out shit flinging contest
