They do this by trying to pass laws about which language other people can do business in, because if no one wants to speak french, too bad!, we will preserve the spirit of the quebecois volk by force. They want to separate because they share a common ethnic heritage, because ethnicity is what countries should be founded upon. So thats the ethnocentricism part, As far as I know both the parti and the bloc are planted firmly to the left of the political spectrum, yet not so far as to be "true" anarcho-socialists which would make them something along the lines of national socialists, or state socialists. Also how the hell is it bigotry towards french people to mock this stupid sense of ethnic entitlement that quebec nationalists carry around. You do not deserve special rights just because you speak a certain language, you do not have the right to use the government to impose that language upon people by force, and you do not deserve special attention and funding from the federal government just because of your special language.

Going away from Language and back to the OP a bit more... You call that Civil Disobedience? When the conservative party here in the UK pushed through a tuition fee raise, 52,000 pissed off students marched through London. It ended in a few thousand storming into their party HQ building and totally trashing the place. This was followed up by at LEAST one protest every other week in pretty much every major town and city in the country, most of which ended violently. On the day that MP's went to vote on it, a few thousand more students went and occupied Parliament Square, burning shit, getting in fights with the police, generally going mental.
