This is why I'm saying he should try to put an end to it. If you're religious it's just going to wind backfiring as you'll get really confused
Im not too confused
all da ladies
you know it jk, all the chicks think Im a blazing idiot, while all the guys think Im a total badass.
the second time I ever tried becoming lucid (around 5 months ago) I saw myself in something like gm_construct and then woke up like "lol wut"
yeah I have this problem too. Its kind of hard to tell who is talking to you- god or sub Didnt want to bring that in here because I would get shot down by all the facepunch atheists.
Oney doesn't talk to me. Before camp, I was given beer, a bit enthusiastic, but then I lost all mean to drink the beer after a few sips. Just to note, this was my second religious church camp. After the church camp however, nothing yet.
I occasionally have a beer with my dad and neither of us have any problem with it. I grew up like that, and I dont see why other people my age would chop off their arm to get a 6-pack of bud. Ive gone to a church camp once a year for about nine years running. Not really so muck a church camp as a hurrdurr we can do whatever we want camp.
am I doing wild right: Get tired Set alarm for 8:30 if I fall asleep around 2 in the morning Wake up to alarm after forgetting that you set it, shit your pants awake (this puts me in to fully alert, I don't see how anybody can be tired after that kind of thing) Wait 10 minutes Close eyes for 10 minutes, try to see color blobs I failed at the color blobs I didn't see them
^ not the way I do it, but Ive never really had a fully succesful one. RC's dont work for me either. So pretty much I only go lucid from logic, or K (sub) wants me to. He texted me in a dream once and said "dude, your dreaming bro." ...and there was an all-you-can-eat buffet......mmmm that was a good dream.
Not really so muck a church camp as a hurrdurr we can do whatever we want camp.
This sums up my second church camp. The only christianity involved was praying before going and after. It was a get off your ass camp. It was a camp in the forest in the middle of no where and no one knew what was coming to them. Heck, there was this retarded 12 year old (actually 14 now) dressed as a "gangster".

Theres quite a few hipsters and wanna be gangbabies. All the normal people enjoy making their time miserable. Oh the pranks. hehehhehehheheheeeeee. So, reality checks or a dream sign (a red ball or some shit)

Birdman, give me a tip on instant lucid ;)
um. Confidence. You WILL recognize the dream. [editline]20th December 2010[/editline]
Sort of like a dild? So, reality checks or a dream sign (a red ball or some shit)
Nah, more like "Wait a second Im driving a spaceship down the freeway. I must be dreaming."
um. Confidence. You WILL recognize the dream.
Thanks for the placebo.
Worked for me.
this is too hard to do
It's not some hippy thing you see them preaching about, energy exists everywhere, whether that be spiritual or not. Most lucid dreamers know this and try to become spirtually at balanced, trying to satisfy their subconscious needs. It's kind of the same situation here. First, I'll make an example. Scientists have done experiments where they have taken two beakers of ice, exactly the same, and put them in the same temperatured place. The only difference is one has a sticker of a heart on it, and the other with crossbones. When the ice melted, the one with the heart on it was frozen longer. This is a keen example of the energy I speak of. You have it all around you, whether that be you don't feel right in the place you're in, or that you really have a desire for someone or something else. Energy can come in both a positive and a negative form and that is the energy I am describing here. When you are asleep you are more prone to these energys and are sensative to them. Kind of like a radar detector. When you are conscious you need to focus more of your power on doing common things, but when you are asleep, you are able to train your absorbtion skills. I've had a first hand example of this, but due to me not wanting to drag my personal life into this, I'll leave that out. The energy you have before you go to sleep can effect whether the dream you'll have is a nightmare, or a normal dream. During your sleep the energy around you can also alter the dream you are having. You could be having such a great dream and then suddenly everything screws up, and visa versa. You could be in a nightmare and then suddenly rainbows everywhere. That's why earlier I talked about how hugging or turning your nightmare into positive energy can change your dream. It will basically amplify what you have done and counter the negative energy your nightmare created. Meditation is perfect when you have a bad day and negative energy is crawling up your bum. It clears your mind and usually expells the negative energy. Again, as much as this sounds like hippy stuff, it really is the truth.
I don't know if this has been answered before, but I really want to see the peer-reviewed paper which presents compelling evidence for this "spiritual energy" thing, especially the part I bolded. because it sounds like pseudoscience to me
I dont really think there is anything to the whole "energy" mumbo jumbo, Its all perception.
I dont really think there is anything to the whole "energy" mumbo jumbo, Its all perception.
well if the part about the ice melting is bullshit then why should I believe anything else in the OP surrogate?
... My sub just changed gender.
... My sub just changed gender.
get a sex change
well if the part about the ice melting is bullshit then why should I believe anything else in the OP surrogate?
Because the stuff in the OP makes sense. Its perception. [editline]20th December 2010[/editline]
... My sub just changed gender.
So? My sub did that once. Changed from the form of a chick I like to my form. [editline]20th December 2010[/editline]
get a sex change
Im going to slap you.
Because the stuff in the OP makes sense. Its perception.
well I perceive the stuff in the OP as arbitrary and based on placebos and self-deception (sorry if I'm coming across as argumentative)
I had a lucid dream I died once when I was little and I felt it. And just now I had a dream I was getting tired and trying to fall asleep and when I finally fell asleep I woke up in the real world for a few minutes and when I fell asleep in the real world I woke back up in the dream world.
[img_thumb]http://d.imagehost.org/0963/Humor_fp_smart.png[/img_thumb] I went to bed at 5 and got waked up at 9 :(
well I perceive the stuff in the OP as arbitrary and based on placebos and self-deception (sorry if I'm coming across as argumentative)
Except it's not. It's been scientifically proven multiple times that lucid dreams are real and happen, there are thousands of communities devoted to studying it, and quite frankly, it's awesome. You're welcome to think what you want, but being bitter and argumentative about it doesn't really help anyone. You've clearly made your decisions about how you feel about it, we can't sway you. All I can say is you're missing out, and if you open your mind and give it a shot I think you'll be surprised.
unconscious mind being personified is also very supported [editline]20th December 2010[/editline] although yes the energy thing is blatantly wrong. I researched (read: google) it a while back and posted what I found. The guy who did that experiment was attacked by the scientific community as not being a real scientist and it was proven to be an inaccurate experiment that doesn't follow the standard methodology.
So? My sub did that once. Changed from the form of a chick I like to my form.
It actually happned in real-time aswell, was very odd but i guess it reflects whats been going on in my personal life.
I was at the end of an F1 race, their are many people gathered around a podium, cheering at the drivers when three girls walk out onto the catwalk, in bikini's with their respected team's logo's on them, I wolf whistle and then look right, a girl with longer-than-shoulder length red hair is sat in the corner smoking, i approach her and she says "it's good to see you again, wanna go somewhere?" i paused for a moment then we walk to a pub thats close by. Inside the pub i talk to the barkeep as shit finds a table and sits with friends talking to them, she tells me to order a 'onion and apple juice', Turns out, their out of apples, meaning i can't get any cider either. So i sit next to her and we begin talking, just asking things like "so what have you been up too?" the juke box comes on, and it plays F-Zero X music, i comment on it the exact same time she does, naming the track. "lets get out of here then" and we move to the buss station, by this point her hair is shorter, same colour if a little darker, she's more flat chested, we take a ride on the buss (out of my town) and get off at the outskirts, at this point she looks mostly male, deeper voice, much more brash.
I'm naturally suspicious of dream study because dreams are subjective and cannot be verified or measured externally
I remember when i once went to bed, i was extremely tired, and i closed my eyes, and i opened them again in 1 sec, well, it was morning, and i closed my eyes last time at night. It was wierd
Had my 2nd ever lucid dream last night, here's a recap: The first part of my dream was me in my Contemporary Lit. class, I had just taken the final, and my teacher took off 60 points for no apparent reason. I forgot most of what happened, but I remember it was mostly dialogue. (non-lucid) The second part: I was dreaming I was in a taxi, and the driver was driving to some unknown place. We talked for about an hour about random things, mostly about the colleges I want to go to (The USNA), and other random stuff. At some point, I did a reality check, and found I could breathe through my nose with me pinching it. I was so surprised, I started to stabilize the dream. I did this by rubbing my hands over the taxi driver's jacket, which was a light brown leather one, and rubbing my hands together. The dream stabilized, the taxi stopped, and I jumped out. We were in the middle of a traffic jam, and it was raining extremely hard. I started running down the road, and suddenly, I saw this obese kid, maybe 10 or 11, just sitting there with a baseball cap on. I then tried to fly away, I jumped up but my legs felt like they were made of wax. The dream melted and suddenly... Part three: My previous dream melted into this one, I was lying down in my room, on my bed. The only thing unusual was that all the lights were turned on. I did a reality check, found I was still dreaming, and woke up from shock. tl;dr, My dream was semi-epic, but not quite there yet.
