that app seemed a bit more normal today I got my REM during 4-5, but I don't remember any dreams.
If I'm asleep with a partner will that app get fucked up
I've noticed something... When I had my false awakenings (I know when they were as they were after I woke up and I only went into rem once then.) I saw that the graph would spike up ever so slightly, as if my body would think it was awake for like a min then realise it's not.
Speaking of false awakenings, interesting story. I told K I wasnt really in this for the LD's but the awesome dreams. Last night I had a dream about a superhero called "dream god" and a supervillian. It was pretty damn vivid too. My mom woke me up during this REM phase, before my alarm went off. I instinctively turned my alarm off, but I thought I was still dreaming. I ended up going back to sleep. I woke up again at 8:30, and at first glance I thought it was 7:30. I remembered the dream and the part where I woke up, and I thought they were the same dream. I got out my journal and looked at the clock again, when I realized I was a half hour late for school. I instantly forgot the dream and now I missed an important quiz that would have brought my US History grade up to above D. TL;DR: mom woke me up and I thought I was dreaming. Overslept and missed a quiz.
I've gone lucid a few times, but I'm not usually in control. I can summon things, like a cheeseburger or a Nagant, but I can't make things go away or change my environment. Any ideas on how I might be able to do that?
If I'm asleep with a partner will that app get fucked up
Probably, but not as much as your partner will. AYYOOOOOO
Like THAT would ever happen. :budumtiss:
Probably, but not as much as your partner will. AYYOOOOOO
Well that's understandable. I suppose it gives me a chance to shoot for waking up at 4-5 but I don't want her to wake up. Is there a way to make the iPod's alarm only emit through the headphones?
Zin, i belive this was a nightmare that me and my sub turned into a battle. I have a feeling that if i was alone in that dream, i would have been scared shitless. I think the girl behind me was either my sub or put their by my sub. That dream, ive had it before, set on in a dark house on a dark hill with zombies and entities rising from their graves. alone. Explanation please.
I doubt that's what happened, but if ANYONE in that dream is your sub, it's the girl at the table. Quite frankly if you were in Ravenholm, you shouldn't be surprised that it turned ugly quickly.
Found out why I've been having weird dreams and thoughts, turns out Flexeril, a muscle relaxant I'm taking for bruxism can cause those. I'd stop taking it at night for fear of dependency, but it gives such vivid dreams it's quite fascinating. e.g. I dreamt I was sitting in a highschool class of mine (when I still went to highschool,) and I looked down and I was wearing the exact clothes I was wearing in real life at that moment, but I didn't realize it until I woke up. The dream continued and there was a kid from my lunch table in the class, and we talked and whatnot, and the teacher was a pricky woman, a specific teacher of mine actually. It was all very normal, but at the same time so vivid, it was literally like it was real. The dream segwayed somehow into the next day of class and I was still wearing the same clothes for some reason, and my friend asked if I wore those yesterday, and I said yeah and made up a bullshit reason why. It was so real feeling, it's mind blowing. I asked if i smelled but he said no, and that's about all I can recall from the dream. It was just all too real, and it was pretty weird that I saw my body with my clothes on and everything in a dream. I didn't think you could see yourself in a dream.
Man, looking up at the sky in a dream is trippy. The moon was so detailed, and the milky way was like, 1000 times brighter and full of stars. I could also see the andromeda galaxy, which looked similar.
So I've been trying the Smart Alarm Clock for Android and I can't seem to get it to record my sleep patterns. I look at the overview and it shows like two tiny lines, then I click on it and it's completely blank. Going to mess with the settings again tonight and see what I get...
Well, my journal entries are getting more frequent, and my recall seems to be improving, so now all I need to focus on is getting more sleep.
I've been listening to music last night, mainly orchestrated and piano. How strong must it be affect a dream, in terms of emotional depth?
I got around 8 hours of sleep last night, I guess that's a major improvement.
8th lucid last night longest ld yet about 5 minutes I ended up entertaining people with my dream magic and reading a book because I couldnt decide what to do. It was fun because I didnt go lucid through any means of my own. It was just like BAM INSTANT LUCIDITY.
Two lucids, or maybe one split into two parts in one night, this is a first. First, I was aware I was dreaming, and I was in the Heroes universe apparently, and i saw Sylar, and I said; "Hey Sylar." He took me by the throat and yelled "How do you know my name?!" and I kept saying; "I just do, look behind you sylar, look behind you" "Just look behind you!" Behind him was a nuclear bomb, which exploded and then the dream ended. Second one, I was instantly aware, but i'm haven't trained being concious in dreams that much so it was a bit hazy. I tried to shoot some energy or something from my hands, nothing happened, but the people around me were saying; "Dude, that's fucking awesome." Then I woke up. [editline]8th January 2011[/editline] Guys, also, is there a Symbian v9.4 version of that App?
nope a symbian version wouldn't be possible because symbian phones don't tend to have gyros iirc
Huh. I believe I had my first or second lucid dream ever last night, and it was simply the fucking best thing ever. I always get scared about dropping to sleep when I realise for I fear I won't awaken, but it's fucking awesome.
Hey I found something to put in the new OP, whoever is making it.
YES!! First lucid dream in a while last night. I was lucid, but I didn't really change anything, I just played along with it. The dream was kind of in two sections. The first was non lucid. The first thing I remember was being on some type of futuristic version of Google Earth, which was completely real-time and had 3-D buildings. It was basically no-clip in real life. I checked out this boardwalk at a beach and watched people walking around and stuff. My dad called me, so I got off the computer. I walked up to him and he gave me this thermal imaging camera thing that sensed heat. I walked around for a little and looked at people. I then aimed it at my dick, which was bright red (). Then I realized something was up. Everything started going pale, and I realized I was dreaming, so I rubbed my hands together. It didn't work. I woke up, but fell asleep a few minutes later. This time I realized I was dreaming. The dream had rewinded. I closed my computer and turned around. There was a middle aged man standing there with his mom, wife, and child. He told me he needed to go to some giant mall. My mom and I got into one car with his mom, wife, and kid, while my dad got in a car with him. Before we started driving, the guy handed me a small revolver, that looked like my tiny cap gun, and told me to use it if anything went wrong. We arrived at this mall and started walking around. The strange family seperated from us and my mom sat down on a bench. Suddenly, I saw his old mom walked towards my mom from behind with a tire iron. As she was about to swing it at her head, I pulled out the gun and shot her multiple times. Right after that, the man walked out of a store with a shot gun. I took out my gun again and shot him in the chest. I turned around, and his kid was about to shoot my friend, Zach, with another gun! I picked up the kid and threw him off the balcony. As soon as he hit the ground below, he disappeared. Suddenly, the dream rewinded to the beginning of the mall scene. This time, my family and the man's family were gone. It was me, Zach, and 3 of my other friends. There seemed to be very low gravity, because when I jumped, I nearly hit the ceiling. My friends and I had fun jumping for a while, then the dream went back to the mall entrance again. We were on motorcycles, and we drove through the entire mall. Again, the dream rewinded. I saw my friend, Cameron, who said he saw people having sex in a dressing room. We walked into an elevator and waited inside. Everytime someone called it, we would close the door and go to a different floor. Suddenly, my dream rewinded again. Everything started turning blue. I heard people talking. My vision turned white and the talking stopped. I woke up. I have to say, my sub has creative ways to get me out of dreams. (Getting shot, jumping into oceans, getting hit by a tornado)

I had never tried inducing a lucid dream before, so I attempted MILD 2 nights ago. Nothing really happened, but I definitely had a strange feeling. I felt like I had got in bed, then got out a second later to get ready for school. I felt rested, but didn't feel like I had slept at all.
Don't do the Mirror test! Just... Don't. Now I can't sleep.
I've done it before, it's just funky is all. Nothing scary or distorted.
I haven't seen Orkel in a while. He was the one who introduced me to all of this :gbsmith: A few things. First of all I subconsciously did a WILD last night, which is an awesome advancement in my lucid dreaming. If I can do a WILD without even thinking about it I am in good shape. Also, I spent the whole day watching Freddie vs Jason, Halloween and The Exorcist. Let's hope I survive my dreams :ohdear: Lastly, I found what's really fun is to become lucid and just stand in the middle of a dream and watch it play out. For some reason if I'm lucid the dream seems at least 10 times more interesting.
Don't do the Mirror test! Just... Don't. Now I can't sleep. :byodood:
From my understanding, mirrors aren't always scary. It was most likely a frightening image you saw because you expected to see something scary.
Its nice and all, but im reluctant to take anything from DV. Im sure FP could make a much better one.
agreed. [editline]9th January 2011[/editline] are you the one writing the new OP kenji? [editline]9th January 2011[/editline] who is.
I vaguely recall mirrors just showing the room in a darker tone in my dreams.
Mirrors work however you expect them you, and I guess depending on the mood of your dreams. The whole scary-image thing I guess is a partway placebo - because some people have had bad experiences with mirrors in dreams, others will read it and expect to experience the same. This will more likely occur in nightmares/darker dreams because your mind will be running along those routes. In most dreams, reflections will either be funky or just a bit off, or just not throw a reflection at all (even though in your dream, you still react as if you've seen one, even if you can't). In most of my dreams, I look like a different person in mirrors. My latest experience of mirrors was being in a huge hall, and finding people surrounding me and cutting/styling my hair. I went over to the mirror and I now had a completely different face, eyes and had bizarrely bright blonde hair.
