Is it possible to have an alternate life inside a dream. Like if you create a separate world and live in it whilst you are sleeping.
Sort of, yeah. Eventually you can build up continuity and characters and storylines, etc. It's just like daydreaming. You've thought about something or a story or something, then thought about it again later? Or remembered a dream and tried to imagine it from where it stopped before? Same thing.
As for ways to make it easier to sleep, there's always just not going to bed until you're really tired (not recommended, but it's how I do it because I'm in college and involved in a lot of stuff). And for stuff that's good for you to eat, bananas are excellent, followed by wheat and anything with Vitamin B6. Get Vitamin B complexes and start taking them daily, not only is it good for you, it does amazing things for recall.

When would you say is the best time to take one, right before bed or what?
Is it bad for lucid dreaming if I go to bed at 9, then wake up at 12:22am for no reason?
I swear it happens every night.
Every couple of months I have dreams that involve me losing massive amounts of teeth at once. In the start of these dreams I somehow feel that my front tooth is loose and eventually something happens in which I'm hit in the mouth. In my most recent teeth dream, my brother hit my face with his arm and it caused 8 of my teeth to spill all over the floor. I remember that in the dream that I thought my mom would so pissed, more pissed then I was at the time.

You lucky duck. That would probably be an excellent time to try a WILD.
[editline]1st February 2011[/editline]
Also I've just noticed that even if you are an experienced lucid dreamer and can control dreams with power, it still doesn't hurt to brush up on your recall skills every few days. Bye all, going to write in my journal.
Fuck, something fell down while I was drifting off to sleep and I of course started imagining monsters. (I can come up with some fucked up shit when I do this unintentionally.) So now I'm afraid I'll have a nightmare. Great. :geno:
Is MILD hard for most of you guys?
Is MILD hard for most of you guys?
I've never been good at it, to be honest. I'm super ADD and my mind has a tendency to wander, so I've naturally just grown to be better at WILD. I really shine at WBTB, though. My brain's trained me to wake up after 4.5 hours of sleep and then immediately go back to sleep. I've been recording it, I've had WBTB LD's for 26 days in a row.
Every dream I have, usually is lucid.
You guys are all so lucky. You can enter a real-feeling, alternate universe and almost totally control it!
What I would give to have that kind of power...SOMEONE HERE, GIVE ME YOUR BRAIN.

I just got back from a dental surgeon. Awkward.
Is MILD hard for most of you guys?
Well, easiest for me. Sort of. I mean, I haven't gotten many results from anything else, is what I'm saying.
I need to start writing down my dreams. It seems like when I have a lucid dream I make a storyline for myself, and I remember it. Then, when I sleep, my mind remembers the dream stories and I realize, "Hey, that's from that one lucid dream." And then I become lucid again. And then I continue that story.
It's pretty awesome.
[editline]2nd February 2011[/editline]
Also, what's MILD? I've only done WILDs and DILDs, as far as I know.
I'm close to having a lucid dream. I can remember my dreams pretty well now that i'm writing them down.
Last night I dreamed that massive insects/alien facehuggers spewed out everywhere in a museum and I had a flamethrower.
Even my subconscious knows i dislike them. Awesome.
Finally got my sub to talk to me. We talked for a good 20-30 mins. Can't remember it all.
She made me a house :buddy:
I had a dream about riding in the back seat of a stereotypical black guy's tuner car on a racetrack that was a giant conveyor belt.
Also had a dream about a russian porno I watched before bed. Didnt write that one down :ninja:
That being said, I think dream recall is back on track. Time to begin work on LDing again.
Oh... Kay... didn't realise i'd still get lucids if i didn't try to induce them. good to know.

So, i wake up in my bed, go downstairs into the backyard, I do my usual poke-finger-through-hand technique and go lucid, i spin around, rub my hands "i wish to remain in this dream" then i remember trying to summon something, didn't work, tried jumping to defy gravity, didn't work
So i take a deep breath, concentrate as hard as i hand, say outloud "my sub is behind me" i turn around and im greeted by a little girl. "You're not my sub are you?"
She shakes her head
"Because its too early for that" i turn around and see this say, mid 20's blonde in my kitchen, naked.
I'm sure you can guess what happned, yep got halfway there and then woke up into another false awakening, i wonder around my house do a check but it half-fails, my finger didnt go all the way through my hand.
Then i woke up for real
man that'd be cool, what's meeting your sub like
human mind is amazing. how can i imagine so many people, cities and all details so when im asleep?
When im awake, i cant imagine a damn cube.
Ok so if dream continuity is possible how would I make a interesting scenario to go through in my mind?

You'd probably have to do it in your next LD, but you might be able to do it if you have it be the last thing you think about before you fall asleep.

Ok. It'll probably be influenced by Victoria I am playing that atm so I guess a dream in the 1800s.

Pretty much yeah, I like playing around as a galactic overlord sometimes in my lucids. Commanding giant space battles and shit. I think my most recent space battle was in the orbit of a brownish planet.
Depends on not only your general creativity but how well your brain's paying attention. If you basically just say "hey, i'm going to sit here and watch this", then your brain will be like OH OKAY and then make the sky fucking amazing. Orkel will agree with me on this (or would if he still posted :<), I've had dreams where I just watch the sky. You can see galaxies form and destroy and everything. It's awesome.
yep
I still read though.
I'm so close to giving up on this. I can remember my dreams perfectly and all I can think of is why the hell I couldn't go lucid. :arghfist::saddowns:
Keep trying man.
Soon enough you will have one and it will be worth all the effort you have put into it.
Had a dream last night that I used a fleshlight. It felt like an actual vagina instead of a fleshlight though. And I mean it was warm and got wet and shit like that.
In another dream snippet I was in an RE lesson.
Last night I saw the same dream again. It was summer, warm. Everything was good and I was driving to my home town. To meet friends and chill on top of this supermarket.
Kind of felt sad when I woke up.
I remember I had a dream but I forgot it because I woke up 5 minutes before the school bus arrived and did not have time to write it down.
Hey guys, remember me? I used to post about 20 times a day here.
I went to sleep and had many fun events. (A nightmare included)
Firstly I went to Paris and wandered around some canal basin in the city. I talked with various people in this basin, I think some people who looked like they were from Harry potter or something. I then went to a local cafe and here was possibly where I made my mistake of not going lucid, as it was a cafe that was nowhere near posh and I wondered how the hell did such a non-pretentious thing exist in France? I went inside and the people with me ordered their food. When it came to me I noted on the menu everything was priced in pound sterling and did not go above £9. I noted that for £3 I could order some fucked up French dish which was essentially just a list of uncommon metals. (Gold and lead being the two main ingredients) After eating I woke up at 6:20 and checked the watch to be 6:20:24.
I went back to sleep and had another dream. In this one I remember going to a forum and into that was a thread about Empire earth 5 discussion, It then cut to a garden with 2 slides in it and a hot air balloon just above the slides. When I got to the slides I noted it had turned into a room similar to a gym. Me and some other kids then took turns sliding on the slides and my history teacher was at the top going on about some bullshit like "Teambuilding". I slid down the wrong way because this slide was really fucked up. It had 2 parallel slides and one was slightly shorter than the other, as one slide was for you and the second you rolled a snowball alongside down with you. After this I remember seeing a long vertical water tank and out came a crazed girl who proceeded to brutally fuck up some kid and slash him and shit and violently attack him. Turned out she had been locked there for 16 years and came out to seek revenge or something. So next everything calmed down for a while and I went to bed in that dream. The bed was next to the slides but then when I got in from my point of view it suddenly turned to resemble my own bedroom. I then heard some sounds or something and remembered the crazed girl. I also remember that she was Russian and also French, the two kinds of people I don't like and this made me worry further. I then went to the bathroom in the dream and I remembered the look in a mirror lucid dream thing. So I looked in the mirror and became so fucking scared I suddenly awoke in my bed fully dressed in school uniform in a state of panic. I then wrote this story.
I puzzled.
Can anybody figure out what the hell it possibly means? My friend is trying to find out what the hell it means.

Whoa, what? That means something? Like, you're sure?
So I've had this week off, and I was going to LD for it. But my stupid dental surgery is making things really annoying... I had trouble sleeping because I couldn't find a pain-free position for my face.
Also, the swelling makes me look like Richard Nixon.
