A lot of the time when people look up at the night sky in dreams they see an incredible arrangement of planets and stars unlike anything seen in real life. I know one time I looked up and saw what I believed to be the andromeda galaxy along with a beautiful backdrop of stars. was awesome.
This, it's been stated in the thread countless of times. If you deliberately look to the dream sky in a lucid dream then your brain will fill it up with incredible stuff.
Iv got to say, im so glad i wandered away from the TF2 section and found this thread. The day before i had been reading up on hallucinations due to sleep deprivation and how you mind can create all kinds of weird stuff that'll freak you because of it. I only read about this because i had been up for sooo many hours and was wondering how long it would take before i hallucinated. I went to bed.
The next day i wander over here and im fucking amazed at what im reading. I'd heard in the past that some people were able to control their dreams naturally but i had no idea that pretty much anyone could train themselves to do so. I'm going to try this as soon as possible, and i cant believe that i'll look forward to sleeping rather than staying up playing games ;)
I have a few questions.. Whats it like waking up from a Lucid Dream? Is it like you die in the dream or what? I dont really get it. I mean, what brings you out of consciousness into the real world after you've been concious in a dream. Also, how real does it actually feel? I guessing pretty epically real since you need to check if you're in reality or not. Do you guys actually need to check if you're in a dream or not when you are in reality? Also another question, could you simply put yourself into a scene, like could you put yourself into a zombie apocalypse and play through a day of life as a lone survivor with weapons and running away from zombies and stuff? How long can LD's apear to last for? Is it anything like being in limbo, from Inception?
Thanks :)
EDIT: Ffs at beiber avatar =[

Waking up from a lucid is usually like, your dream starts fading and fading and you suddenly find yourself in your bed.
A bad lucid can feel blurry and uncontrollable, a good lucid feels real and you can do stuff, the best lucids feel absolutely picture perfect real, some say realer than reality.
Checks are a way to get lucids, see the MILD technique with reality checks.
Yes, you could put yourself in a scene, by for example creating a portal to said apocalypse, jumping in and there you go.
Usually a minute or two, some last longer. My longest lucid was such that I ran out of stuff to do and couldn't come up with new ones so I woke myself up. No limbo obviously, that's just a movie.

Thanks insane, cheers for the info.
I didnt mean, "can you get stuck in limbo", i meant can a dream feel like the limbo in Inception. Like, being able to build whatever you want etc.
Technically everything you see in a dream was built by you.
I figure i might as well ask for help on this matter here, before i go completely insane. Recently i have been having dreams where a somewhat negative version of me appears. Recently its been doing simplethings like playing jokes on me and misplacing objects without me noticing. Over time though it appears to have gotten violent, In recent dreams its challenged me to fist fights, sword duels and various other things. I wake up exhausted from fighting with this...Whatever it is... Its even started affecting my grades in school, I cant concentrate because of the reoccurring thoughts of the fights. Every time i encounter him i realize that i am dreaming but im unable to act upon my own free will, I dont chose to fight him, I'll even say Im not going to fight you but a force will drag me to his face and begin by throwing the first punch. I dont know what i should do, Im starting to become afraid to sleep, My negative has been appearing beginning to allow me to dream normally, and then appear later on, sticking with the theme of the dream, yet still scaring the living shit out of me. What should i do to fight it?

Yeh but what i was asking is whether you can build what you want, or not.. ;)
I.e. Sometimes you wont have concious control over what you build or not
Not really sure about that, it's probably best left to someone whos had more experience in lucid dreaming.
I update my journal for every day but I kinda stopped caring
e: holy shit, I just realized a character from a dream last night was chasing after my sub and me. I didn't even realize until now. I think the chasing character is part of my bad side, which I met briefly before.

Welcome to the bandwagon.
Anyways, recalled a fake lucid from friday, which became lucid 'cause i was like, this is a dream. Problem happened: I didn't know what to do.
Last night my dream had me going to a graveyard which lush green and hilly, with roads. The thing about this graveyard is that it's not the first time I've been in that graveyard. It seems I've been there about 4 times in dreams about many days ago, and every time I'm there, my mind is at peace and I usually think clearly over there. Last night, I was sitting on the hill next to a tree talking with someone, no idea who it was, I wasn't even looking at him/her. He/she asked where my dad would go after I dunno what, I said Canberra, 'cause thats where my family and half-sisters are. Then suddenly, hyperactive active monitor lizard out of no where, and I felt a bit of nostalgia.
Explanation on graveyard portion please.
Wah. Remembered no dreams and I just woke up.

it seems that u have a nice night.
it seems that u have a nice night.
I don't remember nightmares anymore, so that's good. But I barely seem to remember dreams either.
I read the most concise MILD tutorial ever
1. Get in the state where you're trying to sleep and have been for about 10-20 minutes
2. Say "I'm dreaming" to yourself in your head
3. Try to have your last thought to be about lucid dreaming
Got some pyridoxine from the pharmacy
taking 100mg tonight and 15mg zinc to fight a cold (apparently zinc helps a little) to recall dreams, downing it with some cheese so that it goes through the body without screwing me in the ass
[editline]21st February 2011[/editline]
i need to stick a post-it note to my screen saying "automerge cancels out after 2 hours"
Holy Jesus of fucking Christ. I just finished watching Inception HOLY SHIT. I'm afraid to go to sleep. Whatever, see you, I'll be up in about 90 years dream time. FUCK.

god damn it
ugh i have no memory of last night and i took 100mg b6 jegus fuck
probably because I woke up in the middle of the night and forgot the dream right there on the spot. seeing as b6 is a co-enzyme i'll take some magnesium with it next time.
[editline]faggots[/editline]
that's 3 failed WILD attempts now
only one of them even amounted to the beggining of SP
Okay, so I felt pretty relaxed and the thought of a WILD crosses my mind. I lay down in bed with the curtain closed at about 3:15. The only sounds were the occasional slight thumps from another room and some birds chirping in the distance at one point. I was completely still for 40 minutes and I counted my breaths up to about 40 and then decided to just visualize a red door but I didn't get further than that. I was in that state for about 30 minutes and it's 4:12 at the time of writing.
Before, I've done the exact same thing and I began to feel a presence above me and my heart rate shoot up. That was the furthest I've got, so what went wrong?
Yeh but what i was asking is whether you can build what you want, or not.. ;)

Since it's a dream, you should be able to will anything you want into existence once you go lucid. For example, you could wish up a giant field and then create a skyscraper, and then go inside it if you wanted to. It all comes down to believing you are in control and not getting too excited. I don't understand what you mean by not having conscious control over what you build. Do you mean when you're not lucid? Because that's basically a normal dream.
Had a dream last night that involved my friend, Anne Frank, J.F.K, and some beast song that my subconscious made up. That is all I remember. Well, I better dream tonight. I WILL. Goodnight ladies.
Looks as if the thread is going to V3 in a few pages.
This should be good
Do any of you guys also travel with Astral Projections?

Dang, crapshoot for LDs. Tried WBTB at 8 AM yesterday, then woke up every hour till noon. Dreamt each time, but never lucid. Last night, no lucids either. I'm getting kinda sick of just generic nonsensical dreams, because they don't really mean anything other than 'Minecraft should add more items' and 'Batman is a cool dude'. Sure, I agree with those statements, but meaningful interpretation becomes kinda moot.
So tonight I'm gonna see if I can at least have nightmares or something; at least that way I know I still have some control over what I dream, and if I can have dreams more relevant to my life.
G'night, y'all

In the new world order they don't, for people like you.
For the last 3 days i have dreams about waking up, which is getting annoying.
In the new world order they don't, for people like you.
No, they just don't exist. Someone may have had one in a dream, but not in real life.
Anyway, I woke up earlier straight after a dream (which I'll post after this sentence) and forgot what method I should have used. I couldn't really breathe so I stayed awake.
From my dream journal, this was today morning, estimating around 5AM-6:50AM
This dream was odd because even when I was awake I didn't realize that I remembered it as a dream. But then I did that thing where you think how you got there and realized it was all a dream.
I was sat with a group of friends in the school canteen (for any americans that read this, 'cafeteria'), with a row of chairs dividing us. My friend was on a table with a girl she hates (she has reason to) looking all stranded, and my other friend (her boyfriend) was sat on the table with her. On the other side of the wall of chairs was me, my friend's welsh half-brother (or some shit like that) and another friend of mine. There were various other people scattered around as well. I remember having a conversation with my friend's brother (I'm not typing half-brother all the time) about something or other and then I encouraged my friends to move to our side of the chair, away from the people that they hated. Skip forward a few minutes.
I dropped my food all over the floor and I think I burst out laughing and then some angry lunchlady came over and told me to of the canteen (cafeteria).
I stayed though, and got a second chance. Some more conversation went on (I forgot what was being said) between everybody, and then I dropped my iPod on the floor. I burst out laughing again (I think) and the lunchlady grew muscles or something (I vaguely recall) and dragged me out.
The sky turned dark, to nighttime. I walked in to a house which seemed to just pop up in the middle of the school and began suiting up or something and then walked back in to the canteen and sat down (it went to day again at this point).
I remember another dreamlet as well, which was bought on by my non-stop Scrubs marathon over the past few days. JD and elliot were in a banana farm with some rows of neatly cut bushes, and they walked down the banana farm with baskets full of bananas. I was watching it on my PC like I've been watching scrubs recently, which leads me to believe that if I keep trying, reality checks will flood through much like Scrubs has and I'll finally have a second lucid dream.
Sorry that this post looks so badly set out but I just wrote up the whole thing in my dream journal and I'm not writing it all out again.
I've also added a dream goal in my dream journal to recreate the lunchlady and brutally murder her the next time I become lucid.
Yay good dream memory.
Except I only remember parts that have a certain person in them.
Must improve before trying to LDing again.
are you my clone
