OK, what the fuck. I set my alarm for 3 am and it goes off an 8:43. What.
All I remember is something about me being a headless zombine and getting in my car and getting in a cop chase.
also something about time travel. Goodbye, automerge
i've got a headache today and the dream i remembered is longer than usual i had to strain myself to remember it all which really didn't help
I just can't remember any dreams :smithicide:
My dream predicted the next 6 hours accurately minus one difference.
My alarm woke me up in the middle of a dream. HNGHGNNRNGHNRGHNNRGHNR WHY CANT I SLEEP ALL DAY?
Then why don't you astral travel?
I had a crapload of LDs last night, but none of them particularly memorable. I know I hung out with my sub, and at one point I had a boombox?... Not like the Lonely Island song, fortunately. There was this one point around 9 (AM) where I woke up, checked the clock, and went straight back to sleep. It felt like the dream after that was about half-an-hour real time, but when I woke up and checked again, it had only been 7 or 8 minutes. Then this happened again. Kinda weird... But the weird thing is that I didn't really do anything special. About the most unusual thing is that I went without food 7 hours prior... and I'm not convinced that would do anything. But I've been thinking (in the shower, because shut up), and I'm considering applying operant conditioning to lucid dreaming (I'm taking Psych 101, can you tell?). I mean, something as simple as having some snack next to my bed and having some when I LD. Devaluing the intrinsic motivation would be a concern, except it should be fine as long as I'm motivating myself. Besides, by LDing, I might find more motivation for LDing, so it's not a problem. Any thoughts?
Then why don't you astral travel?
are you retarded [editline]23rd February 2011[/editline] or do you have astral downs syndrome

I've fallen asleep unconsciously or snapped out of it every time. On the other hand, I've started keeping a sketchbook next to my bed to doodle what the dreams look like after writing them in text. [editline]23rd February 2011[/editline] buh i want a vietnam dream with fortunate son or the letter as 'inspiration' but I know if I play them I won't hear my alarm
I hate my sleeping pattern, i'm supposed to have it so i go to bed at 0AM and wake up at 8 AM but it's fucked and i fall asleep at 2-3am and wake up at 8AM and then fall asleep and wake up at 1pm, anybody have any remedy's for it?
FACELESS A castle’s tower, reaching up from the ground, its head poking out above the clouds. You’re inside, lying upon a silken white mattress. Your wife lies beside you, naked, her back turned to you. Emotions well up within you, a longing to reconnect. The distance between the two of you stretches out to the infinites. You reach out, turning her to face you. Instead, you’re greeted by a blank canvas of skin, her facial features replaced by smooth flesh. You hold her head, kissing its smooth surface, before holding it close against your chest. A rumble reverberates through the tower, as it begins to disintegrate from beneath you. A castle’s tower, once higher than the clouds, crumbling to the ground beneath. PROXIMITY A humanoid figure made of rope falls from impossible heights, landing in a body of water beside you. The thin ragdoll entity crawls out, and begins ascending a mountain path beside the river, as it had a thousand times prior. It mumbles to itself, communicating its yearning for you to follow, but to keep your distance. It denies your existence, and continues up the path. You follow from a distance, concerned for its safety along the steep incline. The distance between you allows the figure to act naturally, as if it were alone. The river below is frozen over, and the figure informs you that eventually, it would aim to land on the frozen ice instead of the surrounding river. It seeks to destroy itself, but procrastinates upon even this. You keep your distance, as if your care for the being was tied to a chain. Up ahead, it disappears out of sight as you struggle to maintain the necessary distance.
I just had a mad dream, it was about moonwalking pieces of pie that came from a 160 million dollar commercial that weren't afraid of singularities. Before that I got a blowjob in a safe. And orgasmed, :v: The dream continued.
I only remember one part of the dream I had yesterday, and a very good friend of mine asked me if I would go out with her. shit was weird yo I panicked a little
Do any of you guys also travel with Astral Projections?
It's a matter of perception. If you perceive a dream character as an astral projection, then no. But if you perceive a subconscious as a astral projection, than yes I do. I blame stuff on Oney most of the time for stuff like slow reflexes and feeling sad about something ridiculous.
In the new world order they don't, for people like you.
Hey did you hear Steve Jobs has cancer? Bill Gates is donating to charity in person? No one giving a shit about Trump? Beyonce sucks? That fluorine and Tar... whatever they put in diet sodas is dangerous only in large amounts? [sp]That Justin Bieber will be the next sacrifice to Satan?[/sp] :downs:
okay here's how I think astral projection came to be in a dream = astral projection exists awake = astral projection doesn't exist that simple
okay here's how i think astral projection came to be in a dream = astral projection exists awake = astral projection doesn't exist that simple
perception
perception
huh
It is possible to get your subconscious to take control of your conscious mind for a period of time?
huh
Gonna hafta agree; I have NO idea what these people are saying. Also, I think it's funny how that 'astral projection is rael' person is the only one in pages to get a response to his posts. Can we get some more constructive interaction, people, like commenting on people's posts? I would right now, but I have a 300-page book to read in the next two hours kthxbye

I would right now, but I have a 300-page book to read in the next two hours kthxbye
i'm dealing with a pregnant girl at the moment whoopee but I still have time to post [editline]24th February 2011[/editline] anybody tried reverse blinking to fall asleep? also http://www.dreamviews.com/f12/inducing-trance-wild-part-1-a-24607/ seems kind of promising but I've learned that the main thing to do for WILD isn't to follow tutorials it's to do it yourself and see what happens for instance I personally can't realize I'm seeing hypnagogic imagery until I snap out of it so what I have to do for WILD is use an anchor and forget about wild and then when I'm nearly asleep on the very verge of entering a dream (without being aware) my anchor bursts out and reminds me what I'm doing and then I enter a dream thing is, I haven't been able to wake up at the right time for it, let alone find a decent anchor apparently pain is a good one (putting yourself in a kind of uncomfy position but still comfy enough to fall asleep on and then the pain gets a bit worse when you get closer to sleep and you become aware in the close to dream state) it's a shame I seem to have an REM period at 7-7:30am because I wake up at 7 to go learn me some edumacation
It's annoying now with dream recalling that as I feel myself exit a dream I immediately try to claw back the memories but all I've been getting recently is a garbled feeling of the final moments of my dream and a general impression of what it was about. It's irritating considering that to be able to be consciously aware of a dream ending could be so damned useful for both dream recall and DEILD...
It is possible to get your subconscious to take control of your conscious mind for a period of time?
Your subconscious IS you. In fact, it's probably MORE you that the conscious you, which in everyone is restrained by conscious thought, moral constraint, fears etc. I guess the closest you would get to control would be to observe how your sub acts - it appears to me that people project onto subs their aspirations for how they should be or what they want from people. Once you understand that, perhaps it will be easier to them emulate that for yourself, thus making your conscious and subconscious selves closer to being 'one' entity.
Technically everything you see in a dream was built by you.
If you were born in a white room and were fed food and water from a tube for your life, there would be no experiences of anything else outside of your own imagination and what you see in the room, right?
If you were born in a white room and were fed food and water from a tube for your life, there would be no experiences of anything else outside of your own imagination and what you see in the room, right?
In that situation, you'd be likely to just die. I read that a baby/young child that is given no mental stimulation or emotional engagement or any sort of stimulation, no matter how well its food and cleanliness needs are met, will die. I can't provide a source to really disprove bullshit, but I know this was an experiment either late Victorian or early 1900s. If there's nothing to kick-start an imagination, what is there to dream?
can't remember shit anymore. I even have had it going. I've been successful but I don't have the spark for it right now. Kind of disappointing.
Im back. I aint even mad, Orkel. In other news, I had a dream where my little sister plugged all the toilets so I couldnt piss and she took all the electronics out of my room (Xbox, Tv, computer, alarm clock, ect.) and plugged them in all over the house. I woke up pissed, My mom burnt my breakfast, I just about crashed my car (read: normal drive to school), I got slapped in the face by a surprise worksheet packet I didnt do, I got denied from skipping school tomorrow, I came to a sad realization about myself, and on the way home my CB antenna on my car broke off going down the highway. And lunch was old crispitoes. Great day. I love life.
OKAY I'M GOING ANSWER-CRAZY STUFF FROM 3 PAGES AGO OH MY GOD
theres a side effect to quit smoking patches thats widely know and its that they cause vivid dreams. anybody know what causes this
Well, stimulants and depressants have effects on sleep. It makes sense that your mind would be more active on stimulants, and thus could result in better dreams. It might keep you up, though, which sorta defeats the purpose. Likewise, depressants can help with LDs as far as actually getting to sleep, but otherwise they suck.
Do bananas and milk really help to sleep better and faster?
Depends on the person and their diet. In any case, overdosing on B6 does not help.
Ok, I need help to spark up my interest in lucid dreaming. My recall is dead and I don't even know what to do when I go lucid. I could call my subconscious and ask what to do, but I'm sure it'll only last a few seconds, so what do?
Well, you could ask for help with recall. Or ask for help with extended LDs. Or ask for your sub to find a different way of communicating that is less dependent on LDs. Like songs stuck in your head, that's always fun :D
You guys know anything about hypnosis?
Yes. It'd be cool if Youtube hypnotists weren't such creeps, though.
I wish I had dreams like that. The best dream I've had recently was some dream about me being Butthead, with Beavis, and it involved some radio towers being destroyed. If anybody's interested I'll paste it from my DJ.
I'm interested. Did you act more like you normally are, or more like Butthead?
I figure i might as well ask for help on this matter here, before i go completely insane. Recently i have been having dreams where a somewhat negative version of me appears. Recently its been doing simplethings like playing jokes on me and misplacing objects without me noticing. Over time though it appears to have gotten violent, In recent dreams its challenged me to fist fights, sword duels and various other things. I wake up exhausted from fighting with this...Whatever it is... Its even started affecting my grades in school, I cant concentrate because of the reoccurring thoughts of the fights. Every time i encounter him i realize that i am dreaming but im unable to act upon my own free will, I dont chose to fight him, I'll even say Im not going to fight you but a force will drag me to his face and begin by throwing the first punch. I dont know what i should do, Im starting to become afraid to sleep, My negative has been appearing beginning to allow me to dream normally, and then appear later on, sticking with the theme of the dream, yet still scaring the living shit out of me. What should i do to fight it?
Try to figure out the guy's problem, and come to an arrangement. People in real life don't mess with people for no reason, why should it be different in dreams? ...Okay, so that's assuming the dick in question understands what he/she's doing. But why wouldn't a part of yourself know how you feel?
Welcome to the bandwagon. Anyways, recalled a fake lucid from friday, which became lucid 'cause i was like, this is a dream. Problem happened: I didn't know what to do. Last night my dream had me going to a graveyard which lush green and hilly, with roads. The thing about this graveyard is that it's not the first time I've been in that graveyard. It seems I've been there about 4 times in dreams about many days ago, and every time I'm there, my mind is at peace and I usually think clearly over there. Last night, I was sitting on the hill next to a tree talking with someone, no idea who it was, I wasn't even looking at him/her. He/she asked where my dad would go after I dunno what, I said Canberra, 'cause thats where my family and half-sisters are. Then suddenly, hyperactive active monitor lizard out of no where, and I felt a bit of nostalgia. Explanation on graveyard portion please.
It seems to be your special place, where you go to feel at peace. That may sound creepy, but death being evil is a societal construct anyways. In fact, graveyards usually seem creepy because of the peacefulness, so if it doesn't bother you I wouldn't worry.
Holy Jesus of fucking Christ. I just finished watching Inception HOLY SHIT. I'm afraid to go to sleep. Whatever, see you, I'll be up in about 90 years dream time. FUCK.
I'm pretty sure you're joking, but for the sake of any other readers, I have to point out that that's ludicrous. Time compression typically happens because your brain only has to process stuff you're aware of, which means it can use more brainpower to simulate the passage of time. Of course, you can always dream that years pass, but it'd be more a montage than actually living it, since you wouldn't sleep long enough to dream all that up in detail.
Okay, so I felt pretty relaxed and the thought of a WILD crosses my mind. I lay down in bed with the curtain closed at about 3:15. The only sounds were the occasional slight thumps from another room and some birds chirping in the distance at one point. I was completely still for 40 minutes and I counted my breaths up to about 40 and then decided to just visualize a red door but I didn't get further than that. I was in that state for about 30 minutes and it's 4:12 at the time of writing. Before, I've done the exact same thing and I began to feel a presence above me and my heart rate shoot up. That was the furthest I've got, so what went wrong?
There's too many possibilities to cover. Try to think of everything that didn't help, and minimize their effects next time around if possible.
Do any of you guys also travel with Astral Projections?
Nope.avi
In the new world order they don't, for people like you.
Troll much?
My dream predicted the next 6 hours accurately minus one difference.
I'm going to go on a limb and say you probably want someone to ask what that difference is. Related story; a friend had a dream that the schoolbus broke down going up a hill, and we sat in a parking lot while we waited for a replacement. That came true (supposedly even the specific hill and parking lot). The part where men in black sedans came and shot everyone did not.
Then why don't you astral travel?
Trollollolo.avi
I hate my sleeping pattern, i'm supposed to have it so i go to bed at 0AM and wake up at 8 AM but it's fucked and i fall asleep at 2-3am and wake up at 8AM and then fall asleep and wake up at 1pm, anybody have any remedy's for it?
Really just the typical stuff; have a routine you do before bed, stay on schedule as much as possible, um... try to use your bed for just sleeping, and if you aren't asleep in 30 minutes, try getting up and doing something else for a few minutes. You want to associate your bed with sleep, not laying there awake. People tell me all the time that getting up when I'm supposed to and just powering through the sleep deprivation works, but I think they're full of crap. Try it if you want, I guess. Yeah, I'm pretty sure there's stuff out there for stuff like this, but I can't think of what I'd Google for... maybe 'insomnia tips'? Related subjects, at least... You can definitely do stuff without conscious thought, so to some extent it's a matter of... well, extent. Drugs wouldn't really cut it, since it'd mess up the 'consciousness' of your sub as well; shutting down inhibitions wouldn't help if your sub has inhibitions... Hypnosis is probably the most realistic option, but in short enough time-frames you could just start thinking about something while doing stuff, and sorta run on auto-pilot. And the auto-pilot would be your sub. Sort of? Eh, heck with it, ignore me and listen to Jessbinx
In that situation, you'd be likely to just die. Specifically, with no other source of stimulation, they fiddled with the water bottle instead. Incidentally, they actually grew more connections than stimulated mice, if only in the part for tactile stimulation. Sorta screwed up the theory that more connections is better... neurons need pruning to keep from just being a bundle of junk. Am I right?
Nah I'm pretty sure you can "Astral Travel" but it's really just from your pineal gland. Oh and it's almost impossible to find real information on this because it's hidden from you. Why do you think so many sheltered idiots flame whenever it's mentioned? Because they don't see past their TV screen, school classrooms, internet, etc. The people who don't believe in it are the same who think that Canada, the U.S and Mexico are different countries. They know nothing of the world they live in, only what they're supposed to see.
