My dream log is now at 20 pages with over 30 entries.
Some are unbelievably crazy and make no sense, and in some cases they flow and connect to each other. Not to mention I am getting visions of the future, at least what I believe is the future.
And because of the dream log I am more aware in my dreams and in some cases I have full lucid dreams. Fun stuff this.
I think this thread needs to be less like facebook and more like a discussion? Am I right?
Yes.
Well roxxor, can you enlighten me about extended LDs?
Um... I dunno, I'd ask someone else. LDs for me have been a bit of a crapshoot lately, dream stabilization included. Maybe it would help if I slept....
....
...Nah.
Nah I'm pretty sure you can "Astral Travel" but it's really just from your pineal gland. Oh and it's almost impossible to find real information on this because it's hidden from you.
Why do you think so many sheltered idiots flame whenever it's mentioned?
Because they don't see past their TV screen, school classrooms, internet, etc.
The people who don't believe in it are the same who think that Canada, the U.S and Mexico are different countries. They know nothing of the world they live in, only what they're supposed to see.
Thats north america silly, and north america is a continent. You need to learn more geography.
I think you need to see into your geography class.

Ot, why should you even care. I know TV is suppose keep you away from the true world and media is actually a bad influence, but thats life unfortunately, and it's either you either live it or commit suicide.
[editline]25th February 2011[/editline]
I think thats pretty much the point of media; to escape reality.

No actually I'm pretty sure you can't. Astral travel implies your dreaming self and your self are two separate things, and as a veteran LDer I can vouch that this isn't so. The only plausible solution to the theory of astral projection is that A) you have a soul, B) your soul is capable of leaving your body without you being dead, and C) there's an astral plane.
A is arguable for some, but I believe it to be true. B, however, is where that argument falls apart. If we assume your soul is so important that it's what leaves when your body dies, than that would make your body a temporary soul shelter. If your soul was able to leave it, why would it want to go back?
And there is not an astral plane. Believe me, I've tried. I can tell you what you feel like you're experiencing, because I know what you're talking about, but i assure you it is purely a phenomena of perception and does not, in fact, actually exist.
People, or "sheltered idiots" as you call them, flame because your idea is flawed and logically invalid, they just lack the ability to explain WHY, they just call you stupid and move on.
Also, LOL. Sure thing bro. Let me ask you a question, then. Let's say you're right, Canada and the US and Mexico are secretly the same country or whatever the hell your theory is, if everyone else in the country believes what we're supposed to see, how are YOU seeing the magical truth?
I know you're trolling but I'll treat you like you're asking honest questions anyway.

good for you, I lost my girlfriend as she moved away somewhere else and then she did some shit and now I hate the bitch
anyway holy fuck facebook just reminded me of a biznasty vivid dream I had last night:
This dream was scary and yet fun. I don't remember what took place when. I dreamt that I was joining a different school, Oakmead (this school does exist in real life, however I have no idea what it looks like). I was being shown around by some old guy and I remember two buildings kind of like the ones in the level of THPS2 called school II, and I remember at some point being in a classroom/office on a second, higher floor with huge crowds of people protesting against something.
The road to the school I also remember. The crowd stopped halfway down it. I remember being in a crowd of students entering the school too but it felt like I had been there for ages.
I was reminded of this dream by stumbling across the name of the school on facebook.
ofc it wasn't lucid because I suck like that

I reaaaaaally fucking hate steam. The only reason I'm ever on it is because it starts when my computer starts and I'm too lazy to take it off. The thread is better, I can reply on my own terms. Steam chat makes me feel rushed.
[editline]25th February 2011[/editline]
And what do you mean? You do reality checks but they're not following through into your dreams?
Takes a while, bro. Gotta make it habit, not just remind yourself to do it. That works too, but you really need to work it down into your unconscious levels. Keep doing them, it'll happen.
I reaaaaaally fucking hate steam. The only reason I'm ever on it is because it starts when my computer starts and I'm too lazy to take it off. The thread is better, I can reply on my own terms. Steam chat makes me feel rushed.
okay then
two questions
1. why don't reality checks leak in to my dream like other things do?
2. once during a WILD attempt I reached a stage where I began to feel a presence above me and my heartrate shoot up and stuff. I can't seem to reach this phase again. why?
I just had the creepiest dream/nightmare this night.
I went to bed, usually it takes me quite sometime to fall asleep but I managed to get into a comfortable position and fell asleep almost right away. Middle of the night, I "wake up" hearing a womans voice laughing in a creepy way and have the sensation that someone is sitting on my back, pushing me down against the bed, it gets closer as if someone is leaning forward and breathing on me, a really cold breath. I try to fight it after I recover from the shock of "waking up" to this but to no avail as I am fucking paralyzed and can't move for about 2 minutes, as hard as I try it. Then I close my eyes and concentrate "just a dream, just a dream", I was finally able to move and turn to realize there was nobody there but also to realize that through all of this I was awake! It also left me with a cold chill down my spine for the rest of the night :v:
Well about the subconscious thingy or that. I went into a LD and asked my subconscious what it would be like to have it run me or something to see what it would feel like.
I tried having more dreams after that but for the past few days I have not remembered a single dream, not even a single snippet of a fragment of a dream. I literally just close my eyes and reopen them to find that several hours have passed.

Because your brain doesn't really assign much priority to them, and they don't HAPPEN to you, you make them happen. It's hard to explain exactly how it works, but basically just make sure you keep doing RC's, eventually they will leak in. Also, make sure you're not just doing it, but you're doing it and then thinking about what that means. (I just did *RC*, and because ______ I'm not dreaming." Then in a dream when it happens your brain will realize that it's not working and hopefully realize you're in a dream.
That's a good stage to be, that means you're close. If you can't reach it again, you're probably not trying to WILD long enough. Try the finger method, I find it works well.

Your subconscious can't really run you because you're already running you. If you meant how would life be if you made your subconscious make all the decisions, try acting completely honestly to everyone and running with every single gut feeling you have the second you have them.
There's a reason we HAVE filters, it's so we don't screw people over by saying stuff we think but don't want to say.
I had a dream that I felt like I was awake (No Sleep Paralysis) and then I started to hear loud beating inside my head which made my vision blurry. Then I saw a dark figure approaching me from the doorframe and then I woke up. It was really scary.

next time that happens you should definitely try to talk to the figure. interesting things happen.

is it possible for your body to try to shut you out of your LD
hi zin
about the heart rate shooting up like geog said, is it normal for your eyelids to feel like its being stretched open during that? i managed to get it twice in one night but both failed because it felt like my eyes were being opened by a crowbar
my eyelids felt normal, apart from the fact that it was almost like being able to see right through them, but you know in a game if you take away the textures everything looks like just a single-color shape? it was like that and I saw the scream

yeah, like that
not really, there's no reason for your body to do it. Your sub can force you out of a dream, but that rarely happens (hint: do not try to kill it)
omg, Zin, how extend LD?
omg, Zin, how extend LD?
You can spin around in place inside the dream to extend it a bit longer, but the other method is called "dream chaining", and I'm admittedly not the best person to ask about it, because I'm really terrible at it. orkel might know, or browse dreamviews.
Basically you go into the WILD stage as you exit and LD and then basically immediately dive into a new one. It's...well, ridiculously hard.
My dream last night was kind of lucid. I could do whatever i want but i didn't really feel lucid.
The dream was about a new game console, which worked like Kinect or whatever but it was a huge ball that you could enter. Once inside, you could play whatever game you want and the ball would turn into a game arena. You could use your full body to do neat tricks and whatnot. It was amazing.
when I become more experienced with LDing (when is more of a hopeful term here) I'm so doing the 'extension dance' in my dream
involves spinning and clapping while yelling 'eaaaaaaaagllllllle'

I'm skeptical about dreamviews because I'm not sure who to trust on it.
My first LD was an accidental dream chain, I went lucid, then I woke up, then I was like 'fuck you i dont wanna wake up yet' closed my eyes and was in another dream.

I've heard about this. I thought it was just stabilizing the dream, so I went with rubbing my hand to stabilize.
I'll try it the next time I go lucid.

I meant spinning and rubbing my hands. The eagle part is purely for aesthetic purposes.

Kind of useless seeing as I would be the only actual living thing in the dream. Everything else would be created by my mind. Shame that shared dreams aren't real.

most of this looks like caveman scrawl because I normally draw this stuff down in the morning or night so that I still remember what I'm actually drawing
How can I improve my dream recall? I already:
- Take 100mg B6 around 40 minutes before bed every few days (These are the days that I try for a lucid, I don't want to give myself parkinsons or whatever)
- Write down every dream I remember (5 dreams remembered since the 12th feburary, which means in 15 days I've remembered 5 dreams) including fragments
What haven't I done?
Are you still trying forms of MILD, Geo?
I'm not sure if I was before, but I tend to say 'I lucid dream' a few times in my head if I feel like I'm about to fall asleep. Hasn't worked yet, but those words have popped in to my head a few times during the day and I do a reality check when I hear them so I'm hoping it goes in to a dream and I RC there. So I suppose. I've been trying to WILD recently, but I've shot myself down because I can never wake up at the right time and it isn't working in the afternoon so I'm just going to do reality checks until they become a habit.

This is hard advice to follow on weekdays, but the basic thing is this:
when you wake up, try to wake up naturally without an alarm clock. Then just quietly sit in bed and think about nothing in particular. I guarantee you'll get flashes of dreams you just had, and once you get those, focus on them. Try to remember things about the dream, the history of the dream, whatever. Then write THAT down. Repeat. That'll help your recall, and it tends to work. I regularly remember dreams I had last night at like 8pm because of random flashes.

I only recalled the dream I had this morning because I was posting on a friend's facebook wall and I saw 'oakmead' and it reminded me of the dream
