I've had lots of cool dreams lately. Dreams I remember well I often write down. For some reason in my dreams I often realize 'hey, this is not real, this is a dream!' yet I don't get this 'maybe I should make a lucid dream out of this'. This often happens in scary dreams, I suddenly think 'hey, this can not be real, it's a dream'. Next thing I know is I intentionally piss off the scary dream character if there's any, and then I get out of my dream.
It was lucid since you started realizing it was a dream.
If it happens often, you should take advantage of it. Some people here have like 1 month intervals between lucid dreams, and they don't even last. There are tips on the second post of this topic.

what argument I am confused
also zin you wouldn't happen to have the red version of your avatar I made like a year ago anywhere would you
it said like 'sleep apprentice' or something
achieved 2 dream goals last night, even though I wasn't lucid
those were:
- Fight somebody (I killed a Korean man)
- Shoot something (I sniped the korean man)

detailed snippets
I didn't recall any full dreams today. I would have recalled every last part of each of these dreams if I stayed awake but I was so tired that I kept falling asleep after each one without being awake enough if you get what I mean. I did try to tell myself to do a reality check when I was falling asleep after one of the dreams, but it must have failed.
Snippet A: Korean
I've been playing Crysis 1 a lot recently. I think that's why a Korean soldier appeared in this dream. Two videogames merged, actually. The base in STALKER where the guy tells you to get out of here was the location, and the Korean from Crysis was walking on the platform. He got taken out by somebody and brutally murdered. I don't want to know if it was me or not.
Snippet B: I'm not your buddy, guy
I'm not sure what this snippet meant, if anything. I remember seeing the warehouse area from the previous snippet being here, except now we (I'm fairly sure I was in a group) were on an iceberg. There were several civillians on a peninsula-esque area and we blew up the ice to send them adrift. There was blood in the warehouse.
Snippet C: Super Bus Escape
I was in a very familiar dream location that I often forget. There's this ASDA in Bournemouth that I always got dragged to as a kid, and thus it entered my dreams when I was that age. I completely forgot about it. It's like a giant hole in the ground that connects to what I think are docks, and there's a huge-ass parking lot nearby it too. It's amazing how it works and I always used to have the same dream about it when I was little; my mum would park there, we would go up in a huge lift (elevator) and we would do some shopping. But this time, I was my current self, and I was very lost in the lower levels, where I've never been before. I made my way up to the top using my phone's GPS and I remember going through a garage and picking up a mop at some point.
Snippet D: Kidstuck
In this snippet, some little kids walked past me at a bus stop and I called them something which upset them (not sure what I said). Then they all cloned themselves and pinned me down arm by arm, leg by leg and then ran off with my bag. I grabbed one of them and started scanning the nearby shops (it was downtown) for my bag back.
So those are the strange but exciting snippets from yesterday. I don't consider this to count towards my amount of dreams recalled as they were all tiny snippets, but they were possibly the most vivid dreams to date that I've had. 100mg b6, 15mg zinc and a co-operative B-complex were taken about half an hour before sleep.

Hmm yeah I guess. "I should take advantage of this oppertunity" just never comes up in my mind in a lucid dream for some reason.
I once had a random go at mild, it all went fine but then I felt really weird, it was as if my eyes were going crazy and it opens my eyelids very slowly if I don't do anything. The only way to keep them closed is to try to force them to stay shut, but when I do this, the eye-going-crazy thing goes away. But I also get the feeling that I was close to lucid but I let it go.
I have tried it a few more times, but it always ended with the twitching eye.
[editline]27th February 2011[/editline]
I also felt like I was sinking into my bed so it might be that I was doing it good
sinking in to bed can happen when you're near transition IIRC
depends how you mean by sinking
dunno, feels like I'm becoming heavier, maybe it was just a placebo
I dreamed that I was a rock falling down a hill.

Well, but the consequences of trolling are getting people pissed off at you. The problem being that that might be a good thing as far as he's concerned... he must have come here for some reason, probably that Dream discussions are easily trollable. I'm sure given time, he'll go away, and the less butthurt we get, the less likely he is to come back. So really, he should shut up, but failing that, we should shut up.
And if he's not trolling, I'll eat my para-dimensional dream-hat.
On a much less meta note, I slept for about 12 hours last night. Unfortunately, even though I tried LDing, I failed. It was weird, though... there was one time where I felt like I was just barely in a dream, like I was visualizing stuff, but nothing else. I couldn't figure out what to do, because I was just sitting in bed seeing not much of anything (a very vaguely defined game menu or something), and could feel myself in bed. If I had moved, I'd have probably moved IRL and ended the dream. In any case, it ended.
But then the next dream, I dreamt about Batman and Robin (Been playing Arkham Asylum, pretty cool). I bemoaned the fact that I couldn't really do a whole lot if I'm just watching a scene unfold. Like, without any physical representation. I can't exactly pinch my nose if I have no body, right?
Also, I remember being woken up by my alarm at 10 (am), and I shut it off and went back to sleep. Except I've thought through it, and while it is theoretically possible I left it on since Wednesday (when I set it), I'm pretty sure that I didn't leave it on. But I haven't been home at 10 until today, so... man, I dunno, man.
Oh, and I was borderline hallucinating in math class on Friday. I had to re-read stuff to make sure it was the same as when I had last looked. I got about 2.5 hours of sleep that night, but I've dealt with that before without hallucinating.
Weird stuff, man (but all firmly within the bounds of reality, so don't even bother, Ostegolation)
I got to sleep at about 5 this morning, I was having a really good dream from what I can tell. It ended when someone fell down a shaft me and another person were climbing up it. When he hit the ground, I heard a very loud clap. Then I heard another clap, the person next to me died or something. I hear yet another clap and I wake up to my brother clapping above my head at 10:30 AM, he then proceeded to try to pull me off my bed. What really sucks is that, had I just woke up normally, I think I would have remembered way more than just that part, it seemed like a really good dream. How come dreams always seem to have something react just in time for something to happen in real life?
Several lucids last night, two MILDs and two WILDs. First MILD was when I looked in a mirror and saw myself as a girl with a ponytail. I kinda started wondering "hey, I'm not a girl.. am I? This has to be a dream" and then I ran away. It happened on a spaceship named Hell, which was full of lava and stuff.
Second MILD happened when I came on Facepunch, in this very thread, (I just did a reality check just in case) to post about the previous dream. For some reason my father was here, and he was describing my previous dream in detail. I was about to post "How the hell did you see the same dream as me?" when it all clicked and I became lucid.
Two of the WILDs were as usual. Woke up after dreams, went asleep again, cue WILD and lucids.

You are a closet furfag.
anyways, I fell asleep playing max payne, and kickass dreams happened.
This is hard advice to follow on weekdays, but the basic thing is this:
when you wake up, try to wake up naturally without an alarm clock. Then just quietly sit in bed and think about nothing in particular. I guarantee you'll get flashes of dreams you just had, and once you get those, focus on them. Try to remember things about the dream, the history of the dream, whatever. Then write THAT down. Repeat. That'll help your recall, and it tends to work. I regularly remember dreams I had last night at like 8pm because of random flashes.
This. I totally forgot my dream, but I laid back down in bed and thought what I had dreamt. It was a little odd, I must say.
I was in a park with some relatives (or something) and I ran a footrace with my cousin's daughter (she's like 4). I was taking it easy and letting her win (while eating something), but I realized I didn't want people to think I had legitimately lost, so I sped up and met her at the finish line. For some reason, this was apparently in a Pokemon game, and the graphic representation translated to me goomba-stomping her. Apparently, this kicks out that side of the family, as I apologized profusely. Then it went sorta meta and I was playing a Game Boy Color with several Pokemon games in its several slots. My (other) uncle said it was his, and I complimented him on it. I felt like it was just like the one I had, though, so I asked if it was really his. He said yes, but I couldn't find a name on it. In any case, I noticed a Legend of Zelda game in his Game Boy Color, and I reminisced to him about Wind Waker (Got stolen a few years back, wish I still had it). Somehow this led to me swimming in the Great Sea with... I dunno, someone else. I thought it was pretty cool that it was multiplayer.
Interpretation: My cousin's daughter is tiny and annoying, I wish I still had my Game Boy Color and retro Pokemon games, and also Wind Waker
So not really anything particularly interesting, but I don't normally have such long dreams in 4 hours of sleep, let alone actually remember them. Being 5 minutes late was worth it.

Ugh, Max Payne? Gross
Had a realistic dream about nukes hitting my town, it was just unbelievable. Basically this plane carrying a nuke crashed, and it got set on fire, so I took a fighter jet and flew away as fast as possible, looked behind me and this incredibly bring huge mushroom cloud appeared at the plane, with the surroundings I was in right before being blasted to bits, and the pressure wave starting to expand. I knew it would hit me, so I braced for impact and the wave threw and shook my plane around like crazy.
I then landed and went inside an apartment complex. People were taking cover. I thought "Boy, I sure hope another nuke won't blow up while I'm here" and well, that's what my subconscious did. I ran outside only to see this second mushroom cloud, ran back inside and into the cellar/bomb shelter while the entire building above me collapsed. It was incredibly realistic.
This thread makes me jealous. I don't remember any of my dreams. I just wake up to nothing. :(
I wake up with some cool dream in my mind, but forget all but last 30 sec of it. And then i forget it completely after a while.
Does masturbation reduce recall because I've noticed I remember dreams more at weekends (when i don't wank)
Why are you all here? www.dreamviews.com<--- complete fourm on this stuff with better experts.

See, the thing about prejudice is that you have to separate understanding from empathy.
Geo, I won't pretend to be able to understand, but I know that freaking out at you can only hurt. You have my respect as a fellow human being.
EDIT: Oh yeah, btw I'm talking about the adolescent sex bit, not the Vietnam fetish. I mean, I totally understand the thing about shooting Koreans.

Wow goddamnit I just had another fucking fake lucid dream.
Just go fuck yourself brain. :argh:
First time seeing this thread and it's fascinating and i've got a bit of a strange dream happening myself.
So I keep having this dream where everything seems a completely normal lesson in University but what's odd is i'm just eating tonnes of chocolate and I mean proper munching on it. What's even weirder to this dream is i'm a diabetic and i've not eaten chocolate for 2 years and I wake up with the taste of chocolate in my mouth and my teeth are tingling because I don't eat sugary food and when I do I tend to have a sensitive reaction. For a few seconds after waking up i'm in a state of panic and don't know what's going on and eventually settle down.
Cheers for reading, sorry if it's a bit muddled up but it's the best way I can describe it.

Have to admit, kinda cool, but also depressing. I mean, the carry-over is actually sorta enviable, the reasons for dreaming of the chocolate, not so much.
Oh, um. You may want to make sure you're not sleep-eating though. That would be less cool, and more depressing.
And on an entirely different note, to the extent of having nothing whatsoever to do with the preceding statements, I found this webcomic that details actual dreams people send in. There's some pretty ridiculous stuff on there.

I'm sure there are people here with dreams worth sending in... hint-hint

Yeah I ruled out sleep-eating by checking my blood glucose when I wake up and also I don't keep chocolate about in my room or the flat.
What do you mean by 'carry-over'?

seriously does masturbating affect recall because I'll hold off if that's why I don't remember many dreams
I had a dream I beat a man unconscious on the street, breaking his elbow and kneecap, with my bare hands. I don't know why, but I was applauded by onlookers. It felt good.
