I had a dream earlier. I could have written it down but for some reason I can't remember I didn't. It must have been embarrassing.
Yeah I ruled out sleep-eating by checking my blood glucose when I wake up and also I don't keep chocolate about in my room or the flat. What do you mean by 'carry-over'?
By carry-over, I mean the idea of what happens in dreams having an effect in reality when you wake up. I've heard stories of people who dreamt they lost an arm, and couldn't tell they still had it when they woke up. They got better, of course, but just kinda cool, imo. Oh, and guys, I LDed last night and I'm gonna post it, but I have somewhere to be soon. I can post it there, though (teehee). It was pretty boring as a dream but pretty interesting as an LD. Also, I hit 'agree' on AtomicWaffle's post ('cause that would feel good), but instead of 'Rated!', it says 'farmatyr says hi'. ...what.
I'll post my dream, soon. :)
keep forgetting to rc ugh
Okay, so first off, I have to say that I've picked up a hypnosis mp3; pretty standard stuff really, which is a little surprising considering the hypnotist in question is an absolutely disgusting guy. ANYWAYS, as I listened to it, I told myself I would go to sleep quickly, LD quickly, and wake up at 10 to get ready to go (why I neglected to set my alarm, I'll never know). So I did that, went to bed, and as luck would have it, I LDed. Well, sort of. I dreamt that I got up and did typical stuff, totally missing the fact it was a dream until my dad moved our very non-portable TV to our kitchen then asked if I'd prefer it back where it belonged. I thanked him/myself for letting me in on the fact I was dreaming, and did a nose-pinch RC. Now, the weird thing about this LD is that on a tactile level, it was the most realistic LD I've ever had. When I rubbed my hands to stabilize (as my sight was fading in and out), there was friction, and I could feel my hands warming up. I pushed on my palm with my finger, and it sort of went through as though there was some small hole there. I tried phasing through a wall, and my hands hit the wall, like it was actually there. Anyways, that was about it for my LD, but I had another dream (it might have been an offshoot) that started off with Aladdin, then showed another sequel where some Russian thugs meet a fortuneteller in Saudi Arabia (though the worldmap zoom-in that started it misplaced Saudi Arabia), who they anger and are thus brought to the age of Aladdin. They got to that one cave with the gold stash, somehow became part-illusion, and resolved to impersonate the princess, or something. This somehow (over time) changed into an evil witch (like Jafar, but not) trying to stop these 6 kids with magic powers from stopping her secret take-over attempt. The kids befriended animals, and mermaids and stuff, and one of the kids unlocked a secret level modeled after Alice in Wonderland, where the point was apparently to go through and collect items you could use in the main game. It was a 2.5D sidescroller (like TMNT), and it was complicated by the fact that you could combine items, just as in the main game, so you could make space. He died trying to collect something, decided to risk his stuff by going back for it, but settled for a lesser drop. He also created a electro-cannon using mushrooms. So really, it was just weird stuff that didn't make much sense (though in retrospect, I see the Disney connections: Aladdin, Little Mermaid, Alice in Wonderland). It was really only unusual in that it was all one dream, whereas in 10 hours of sleep my dreams are usually much more fragmented. So after all this, I jumped awake in my bed, then wondered why, since it didn't have any connection to my dreams. Then I noticed it was 11-o'clock. Guess I realized what time it was as I slept, and panicked. Cool. I was able to get ready on time anyways, but I didn't have time to post my dream, so now here it is. So the hypnosis mp3 did its job quite well, and I'll be messing with it some more. That said, people respond differently, so just because it worked for me doesn't mean it'll work for you, especially considering the fact that I've practiced being hypnotised. And geo, I wouldn't know the answer to your question (does masturbating affect recall) ...is that a self-diss? Anyways, I'd chalk it up to the 'weekend' part, since I only LD on weekends (and Wednesday) because that's when I actually get enough sleep. Maybe it's similar with you, I dunno. Oh, and in psychology class today, my professor forgot what he was saying while talking about working memory. He acknowledged that was very meta.
Here I am again guys, to let you know still no luck. Been trying since September of '10 and have only had a 10 second segment. Wet blanket....yeah.
OK, one of my most recent dreams involved me meeting a girl who shared the same taste in music, but I'll spare you the boring details and get to the point. In the room we were sitting in, there were Christmas decorations lying around, and the girl pointed out how odd that is. Was the girl my sub trying to get me to turn lucid on my own or something?
I think I had a bad dream last night, but I can't remember what it was. :< I just woke up feeling uneasy and I've been having flashes all day, but nothing enough to put anything together. hate when this happens.

I've found that my mind gets bored and I tend to remember any dreams I had.

Maybe the projection is trying to make you think it's not a dream by telling you that it was odd, making it seem real. If it was trying to tell you, it would just tell it straight to you. Idk
seriously does masturbating affect recall because I'll hold off if that's why I don't remember many dreams
Idk, but how about you try go for a few days without fapping and see if it gets better. [editline]3rd March 2011[/editline] It can't hurt to go few days without fapping
Been having lots of school dreams lately and a dream where I was in bed and my underwear was full of snot, but that probably just a one time thing. Most of the time, I remember that I don't go to school anymore and become lucid, but I always end up wasting it.
Turns out that being ill really does weird things to your dreams. I've been struggling through the last few days with a dire fluey cold, but the dream's I've had have been like HD clear, and I've remembered a LOT about them. Visually, I'd have to say they were the clearest and most awesomely visual non-lucids I've ever had. Even if the latest dream did involve having to watch a guy get pulped to death by a giant gorilla... that wasn't so nice...
ugh today I woke up at 7am. At 8am I usually leave to school but at 7.40 I was so goddamn tired so I decided to just skip the first two classes, putting my alarm clock to 9.40 am . It was the longest 2 hour sleep, when I slept, I dreamt I woke up and got too late for school. I woke up for real and slept again and similar dreams occured, all about me waking up, sometimes late and sometimes not. Each time I woke up, I checked the time and only like 30 minutes passed.
Hrm. Went to bed at 5 am, had to get up at 7. But I said I probably wouldn't be able to dream in such little time even if I tried, and I guess my sub decided to test that theory. It was a pretty long dream, a little longer than my last dream. It's hard to explain, though... it was this movie-type thing that was part Akira part Fight Club, with this messed up protagonist trying to utilize a rollercoaster to break space-time, while dealing with the paranoid stepmother he's trying to murder and his girlfriend. At one point, him and her broke out motorcycles, and it morphed into a Sonic Racers-type mini-game (rings to pick up, though the environment was more Grand Theft Auto). Yeah, that's pretty much all I've got on that, and I'm too tired to bother commenting on any posts (except the underwear full of snot; that's just messed up, though maybe not so much if the snot was actually *ahem*) Gotta say, the most important step in having lucid dreams is getting sleep. I need to keep that in mind when I stay up all night reading webcomics...
an akira dream would be badass i'm thinking more towards the [sp]end of course where shit really goes down[/sp]
guys would you like to read part of yesterdays dream? i only just remembered [sp]My penis fell off and I tried to reattach it but then it became a rock and I tried to eat it[/sp]
[sp]Tasty[/sp]
Haven't remembered a dream in a whi- OH DAMMIT. I HAD ONE LAST NIGHT AND IT WAS LUCID. The only part I remember is rubbing my hands together. And there was a girl. :byodood: What did I miss?!
Does Vivid Dream = Good memory? I kinda want my dreams to be more vivid.
... I'm afraid I don't understand the question. Got 2 hours of sleep last night, had a dream or two. I'm quite surprised.
The most vivid dreams are the ones where you open your eyes and you realize you're not in a dream. I get those very rarely, and they're normally negative/scary enough for me to feel VERY relieved when I wake up.
I had a very special dream. All I remember is that I was near a Vespa supersport 180, I might have been looking at it, driving it, buying it, or receiving it as a gift. The weirdest part is when i was waking up, the point where I could feel my physical body and was slightly aware of reality but still dreaming, I orgasmed. I'm starting to become desperate for even SP. At least from there I could enter a dream.
Tried something amazing in my last lucid: Has anyone else held an idea or a concept? I'd try to explain it but it isn't possible, really. I held happiness last time. Afterwards I wondered what it would be like to hold fear but when I got close to the concept it just felt utterly horrible and I had to destroy it.
-snip- Nevermind Fuck that shit Im passing out on the floor tonight. dreams yay oh shit im tired
I had a lucid dream but then went back into a regular dream. I tried to turn on a light, it didn't work so I immediately knew I was in a dream. I became overly excited so I tried to spawn a hot chick, it worked so then I thought of spawning a celeb I like, I couldn't remember the exact details of the face so I went on my computer. I searched through my folders for a picture for her and spent the rest of the dream searching for a picture of her. That's where I woke up.
I usually go for a nap when I get home in the evening. And usually remember the dreams I have, since apparently it's easier in the daytime. Anyways. I had this crazy dream about a friend I don't see anymore (saw him last week though) it was about his relationship with his dad. In the dream his dad was a homosexual and had divorced his wife to live with his new life partner (a dude who looked like a hideous woman, saw him driving a van or some shit down a street). My friend's relationship with his dad was strained due to this, and apparently the whole thing was a secret and I was one of the few who knew about his gay dad. It's hard to make it sound interesting, but it was one of those dreams where you wake up feeling it had some real meaning, even though it didn't. Shit was vivid as fuck. I'm pretty sure the dream stemmed from a mutual friend of ours whom told me the dad I was dreaming about was WATCHING HIM SLEEP, one night he spent the night there. Apparently he woke up to see the dad and asked "What are you doing Bob?" to which he replied "Go back to sleep, bud."
OH FUCK YES I found a bottle of codeine in the medicine cabinet. DREAMTIME, WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Dream 7 - Jedi That's right. I was a motherfucking jedi in this dream. I was in a field with some tents to the left side, with some typical forest trees far away. It was fairly warm, with a gentle breeze coming through now and then. I had a lightsaber which was red, and my friend had a blue lightsaber and he was standing, ready to fight. I charged at him with it and swung, and our fight went on in short bursts, until I did a badass deflecting thing and then cut his lightsaber in to pieces. After the fight, a chat window came down like in a video game, and some people typed 'GG'. But the weird thing was, people I knew in real life were typing on it and what they typed was said out loud to me. Fragment 1: I was on my PC with a friend using crysis 1's editor. I opened a map that I made in real life and that's all I remember. Fragment 2: I was drawing a dream logo thing in my sketchbook, and I wrote 'do a reality check' on it so that I would do it in a dream. If only I followed my own advice.
I had a weird dream about being in a satellite in orbit of Earth and then watching out of a window as a nuclear war erupted. I could hear the explosions, it was quite unlike what I'd imagined a nuclear war would sound like. Rather than 'thud, thud, boom' it was just a huge explosion, like I was standing next to and feeling the combined force of every single nuclear device detonating. Probably because of playing Fallout too much.
