Or grab things in the dream, that's how i stabilized my first lucid
Does grabbing yourself work?
Apart from that, my dream recall is not working, but, it seems to be messing with my actual memories, like putting in false memories and such.
How do I fix?
Yourself doesn't really work, i don't think anyway, just grab the nearest thing you can see, anything, doesn't matter
Had a dream that I was complaining to my friend on her youtube channel, about how scrubs series 9 didn't give JD a proper sendoff. Then I got a youtube message from this idiot social reject who left my school back a while ago, and he wouldn't fuck off so in the end I just got off the PC and woke up. Odd dream.
Had a pretty awesome dream fragment last night. Me and a group of people broke into a dark warehouse - in the far corner sat a spacecraft (it looked like a really tech-ed up small plane). The other members of my team whoop, happy to find a top-of-the-range model. We then managed to get onto it, taking advantage of the luxury seating. One of the guys went into the cockpit and we took it for a joyride - we shot into space and literally blasted it so fast we went straight across the galaxy in about ten seconds. Happy to test its manoeuvrability to the limits, the pilot then swung the ship round and then speeded back the way we came, dodging past planets. We then proceeded to go on a mission, jumping out and parachuting down onto a beach. Was pretty awesome.

God damnit. That would be my dream... dream.
[editline]10th March 2011[/editline]
I had one or two involving planets and the night sky though. Including one where I travelled the entire solar system in a tiny ship all on my own. Never in my life have I felt such extreme loneliness - and simultaneously, elevation.
[editline]10th March 2011[/editline]
I was right out there on Pluto's surface, thinking about how far I must be from home... the dream had a shortened timespan but it still felt like getting back would take me forever.
[editline]10th March 2011[/editline]
I agree totally with what someone said about exploring the human mind several pages back. Plumbing the depths of our psyche is just as much exploring as is rock climbing, undersea expeditions, or space exploration.
Long live dreamers!
I DID IT, MY FIRST SEMI-LUCIDITY
And believe me guys i still suck at it...
Here's how it went:
I was in this game sorta thing. With a few friends, I remember that I wasn't talking
directly to them since we were on skype. But my body was in "the game".
It had quite some impressive surreal architecture as we went around.
The goal of the game escapes me. But I remember we had to get to the center of the map.
I got there once and had some crazy pickups. Some guys were capable of spawning ramps and objects.
Just like in Gmod. But I don't think I did that. Now the rest is foggy.
Until I was like threatened by a friend of mine, who was playing around with glass & throwing it at my eyes!
I got into a fight with him, trying to use a bottle on his head. But it wouldn't break.
We were already on the ground until I looked at him & wondered, he's a good friend, why are we doing this.
I said to myself, "I must be dreaming" nearly half convinced.. I looked at my hand, & indeed as I thought,
my fingers were bending to the side, just as I imagined they would, I KNEW I WAS DREAMING.
After that I was still in my dream but I think I woke up inside my dream being angry at myself.
Then I woke up for real... Damn
Another weird dream I had after a series of long haul going outs (extreme fatigue):
I was in a typical nightclub which I was at a few days earlier. Drinking alot of good Belgian beers.
A few friends passed but shared no words. Then it goes foggy. Next thing you know I lay myself
down on the chairs I was sitting at. Closed my eyes. or it was already dark in the club, not sure.
Suddenly I notice music stopped. I look around, everybody's gone. Music long stopped.
I was like, should I be moving or is there an alarm? Have they forgotten about me? WTF?
I'm like, nyea, whatever! I lay down & sleep 'till morning, it's good here!
As I stare to the light from the street just by the windows further down on the entrance of the closed club,
I notice 2 things: What am I actualy laying on? I replied, emediately, "my bed". ??? O.O
The second thing soon came to me. The place I was staring at wasn't further away, but because of
darkness could be interpreted completely different, it was the curtains closer to me in my OWN ROOM.
I wasn't dreaming anymore from the moment I got up abit out of my bed to stare around in the so called club.
Weird thing is, I really think, when looking around in that darkness, I still saw fragments of the dream before me.
Weirdest shit ever! But I LOVE IT. Ever since this topic, dreams got interesting.
All I sugest you do is really force yourself of making a habit in looking at your hands, even in real life.
Put it as a recurrent alarm in your cell every hour. You'll get yourself to think alot more about lucid dreaming.
Changing your sleep rythm by going out alot or making your body crave for sleep isn't healthy but might get you somewhere!
Hope you guys get somewhere & I also hope I get more lucid!
Doctor Who themed dream I had weeks back.
my and Rory are on Earth with her family (parents and extended) for a reunion of sorts. Amy's Aunt's phone rings, and it's a recording of the doctor, speaking in code. He's been captured and needs Amy's help to help rescue him. The sky suddenly goes black, and the TARDIS appears in the middle of the room. They see a beam coming toward the earth, so Amy and her entire family rush into the TARDIS. Rory begins explaining how in the past year, Amy and the Doctor and He have all had impacts on everyone in the TARDIS's life, by travelling back through time, and incidentally interacting with them. As each person has their story told, we find out that they all learned something valuable from the doctor, which varied from person to person (I can't really remember), while this is going on, Amy keeps playing the message, trying to decipher what the Doctor means. She eventually slams the phone on the console in a rage, and it starts glowing gold and buzzing like the Sonic. The TARDIS has a course plotted, and Amy yanks the dematerialize lever. They appear on the ship where the Doctor has been captured, and all of the Family is needed to help free him, using the skills that he accidentally made them discover that they had, to save him and the Planet Earth from destruction.
In the dream, I was Amy's brother, and my skill was my ability to repair computers. Which I have in real life, but in the dream, I remember using the Sonic, and going "I gotta get me one of these"
I had a dream that was an odd mix of medieval blacksmithing, Iron man, Terminator, and a stronger, sexier Laura Croft.
I had a hilarious dream where myself and 2 relatives were fighting each other in super hero suits, then we got banned from the gym or something where we were play fighting.
Now, I'm not a cosplay person or a anime or cartoon watching person. I haven't done something like this in roughly 12 years (I'm 22).
We were all adults though and there was lots of funny commentary, i won't lie. Eventually we decided to change costumes so we could go back to the gym and troll fight some more in anonymity.
:v:
I wish I didn't have so much trouble even getting asleep. I went to bed at 8pm and im still not asleep at 2am, and its not from the lack of trying either.
I can dream whenever i want, control whatever i want, Do whatever i want in my dreams with ease, and i didn't even have to practice to do it. Its simple really, Just think of something you want to do then let your mind take control of your actions and then you can move around freely create anything you like whenever you like, and i know this cause i can do it whenever i want!

I hate you, It takes me hours to even get to sleep, and I have to be tired and sleepy first. I rarely dream, I think I might have a problem. Went to bed at 8pm and trying to sleep for six hours until I finally gave up.
So yeah I had kind of a nightmare a few days ago.
My house is a two story one. Anyways I'm walking down the stairs to do something downstairs, I don't know what though. As I was walking down ambient noise was playing (such as the TV, you know stuff like that). As soon as I'm at the bottom all of that sound stops and I hear in a terrifying voice: "Hello Anthony".
So there's a bend in the hallway here and anyways a fucking huge turtle walks out. Well imagine it to be the size of an adult on hands and knees. So anyways I'm just staring at it, then it goes into the corner of the bend in the hallway and does a huge white-ish shit. It then slowly walks up to me, getting on its two back legs and walking nearly like a human and it hugs me, and well I'm paralysed kind of so I can't do anything about it (well it wasn't a lucid dream).
So as it hugs me, it then rubs its shitty arse all over me so I have turtle shit on my pants. I then wake up sweating like mad and paranoid that there's a huge fucking turtle downstairs (my room is upstairs).
Another one I recently had which wasn't such a nightmare but just weird was me and a friend (he's kind of an anti-social and inactive bloke with a fucking huge mane) were sitting at a bus stop outside of a shopping centre. So then the view shifts to third person and I watch as a dozen or so ninjas walk down the street and so my friend gets up, rips off his shirt revealing a 6 pack (rather than a bit of fat, but I haven't seen him shirtless so I don't know) and then beats the shit out of the ninjas. I then look in the background and two of my other friends are sparring for some reason.
One I had just the last night though:
So I had another weird dream where it didn't seem weird at first, so I was BASE jumping off of a really steep and tall snowy mountain (which was pretty fucking cool and felt great), but then suddenly the scene shifts to a frozen over London (except for the Thames river or whatever it is) where I'm watching an inanimate Sarah Palin float through the river and into some sewerage kind of entrance while I'm listening to "Raindrops keep falling on my head". What the fuck. The scene then shifts to my school on the top floor of a building where two of my friends (different to the ones in my other dream) are sparring there. I don't know why the fuck I had two dreams where friends were sparring, but I guess it's because there has been some organised sparring at the lunch times in my school in my year group.
I love dreams sometimes.

You think you might have a problem?
Get help, no healthy person should take more than an hour to get to sleep, in my opinion (can't find any relevant data at the moment). Tell me if I'm wrong, but it also sounds like this happens alot, in which case it's even more important.
EDIT: Sorry for that, I didn't mean to sound *WHATTHEHELL*-y or anything. It's just chronic sleep deprivation is a serious condition that can have all sorts of effects on people... I've got friends with sleep troubles, and I can tell it causes problems in their everyday lives.
Ultimately, you're the one who decides what to do; I'd ask a doctor about it, but y'know, anything you're willing to do should help.
Ugh, I'm blanking on what stuff to try, though, so I guess I'd just look stuff up ("insomnia help"?)
Y'know, if I had sleep problems.
Which I don't.
*Ahem*
Anyways, I think I'm going to go to bed and get about 15 hours of sleep... that should average out the 2 hours a night I've been getting. Then maybe I'll have stockpiled enough to get through math class without hallucinating again.
gl kthxbye
I dont like dreams where something sexually messed up happens in a dream and you realize "My subconscious self made that up".
I had a legendary dream once.
I was with my friends in the school's lunch hall and it was really cold and rainy outside but warm inside. The TV didn't have the boring news channel but instead it was blasting Anthrax - Madhouse! Awesome.
Anyway we sat down and there was a table with all the hot girls at my school sitting at it. So what do I do?
Naturally, I go over there, go to the hottest one and grab her breasts. Then we proceeded to make love on the table and no-one had a problem with it! Sound.
I love dreams.
When i wake up and i've seen a dream that i remember
I am more sleepyer than if i would have seen a dream ..
Why is that i usually die while i dream and lucid dream?
Why is it that im only remembering the bad parts of my dreams...
2 nights ago i had a dream where a rather large chunk of flesh was bit off by a cat (felt the pain and everything) and last night i had a dream where i was tied to a chair and forced to watch as my girlfriend was raped. I have a feeling my subconscious is trying to talk to me, Or its trying to tell me that it hates me. Is that posible? for my sub conscious to hate me?

...well, it can have a serious problem with something you're doing. I'd be all like "HEY SUBCONSCIOUS WHY IS THIS HAPPENING" if I were you, and if you think it enough your sub might actually address the issue somehow (probably in dreams). But as for, like, actual hate, you have to keep in mind that you subconscious is also yourself. So unless you have issues with self-loathing, I'd assume there's more to it.
Well last night, i went dancing with my crush and I think she likes me back.
However, my dream was quite the oppisite. Some horriffic battle was going on, and I was forced to scavenge a gun from the enemies (couldn't tell who they were) and fight. It was a ferocious battle and I saw a lot of my friends die, and then some person came up behind me and shot my knees. It turns out it was my crush.
My crush was on the enemy side. :smith:

I'd like to go to a doctor but I haven't a clue how I would get the idea past my parents while im home for spring break.
I'd like to go to a doctor but I haven't a clue how I would get the idea past my parents while im home for spring break.
1.Well if you your not getting a lot of sleep then you probably have the same thing i have, which on days like this i don't go to bed till the next night, and since its spring break i can do most of them things.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
2.I usually fall asleep when i wan't because if you are warm then you can keep your mind warm to where you want to go to sleep, But keeping your mind warm, is a sense of like. Lets say you have a hoodie on for example and you are warm in it, just put your head inside it and stay warm, and the heat will make you tired.
3.so if you go to sleep with your mind warm you will be able to go to sleep quickly and be able to have better dreams. And if you are able to go to sleep quicker then you can get a lot more sleep and you can dream longer since you have your mind focused on one thing.
4.you can also dream better since if you dream like i do you can just fall asleep, JUST THINK (SLEEP SLEEP SLEEP SLEEP) and you can go to sleep. So i'm saying Sleep Sleep Sleep, Yes i mean Think about sleep mentally and physically, thats the Only thing that stands between you and your dream so think it and you will do it since its common sense to think about sleep anyway you will most likely fall asleep.
5. you have to physically Make your mind feel the stress to make it realize you want something to happen then you will go to sleep Physically, But dont hurt your mind doing so. Because you can hurt your mind easily, and if you are wanting to know, Putting your mind to feel stress may hurt but it also tells your mind you really want something to happen and it just might happen.
6. but if you don't then your mind will keep your subcon awake and it will prevent you from going to sleep. Yes your subcon will keep you awake for longer periods of time if you don't think it and don't know how to tell it you want to see pictures of your day, of your loved one, (WHATEVER) it doesn't matter to me, just make your subcon see you want to go to sleep and see them and you will.
7. so think (SLEEP SLEEP SLEEP SLEEP) and go to sleep if you can, But don't try to hurt yourself doing it, it will do a lot of harm when doing it that way and it will also prevent you from going to sleep anytime soon so just think of it and you will go to sleep. Ya so if you try to hurt yourself it will cause a lot of pain for your oncoming sleep, just think about it and you will fall asleep quickly and be able to dream more soundly, so just think and you will do it!

Lol what
I have no idea what you're getting at. Could you slow down a little and use periods? Put some thought into how you're saying things, because as it is it's just a blob of text that only tangentially resembles a train of thought.
I mean, do you mean 'keeping your mind warm' literally, or metaphorically? Are you suggesting 'putting your mind to stress' as a way of going to sleep? Don't try to hurt yourself doing what?
...you know what, I'm just going to sleep on it. G'night, y'all, may proper English prevail
Orkel: had a dream that someone gave me a ring
Orkel: but it was cursed and Death himself started following me
Orkel: a middle aged guy with a moustache and tophat, carrying a bunch of red flowers
Orkel: I saw him, then he disappeared, etc, repeat several times
Orkel: like was sitting at a cafeteria, saw his reflection on the street from window, turned around and he was gone
Orkel: so I told my uncle and he thought I was crazy, but then he started believing me
Orkel: anyways Death then came and didn't disappear, he started talking to me
Orkel: stuff like "That ring is the cause"
Orkel: "There's one way out of this, give it to someone else within 8 hours or you're dead"
Orkel: but I couldn't, I didn't want to kill someone else
Orkel: so I set up a "help desk" to help someone else during my last hours on earth with mundane tasks and such
Orkel: at one time death turned into a skeleton
Orkel: and it freaked me out and he said "this is my true form"
Orkel: but when I turned away and back he was back as a moustached flowers guy
Orkel: then I died
Orkel: and Death came and said "Now we just gotta take care of your cremating"
Orkel: when I was a ghost.
Orkel: then I said "ok"
Orkel: and he answered
Orkel: "haha idiooooooooooooooooot"
Orkel: "one should have guessed this was a dream by now"
Orkel: and at that instant I woke up
Also a dream where I went back in time and showed Hitler shit off my laptop.
I was walking home from school, and as I am walking, a police car passes me, sirens blaring. I don't think much of it. A few minutes later, another one passes. I begin to think "I wonder what's going on? there's probably been a crash." shortly after, yet another one passes. This time I notice the number to be #234. a few minutes after, another car passes, also #234.
This continues until I reach my apartment, with dozens of police cars lining the street, all #234, guns drawn pointed at something behind my house. I decide that it's a GREAT idea to just walk into my house. I grab a snack, and head outside to my backyard (NOTE: I do not actually have a backyard, but in this dream I did).
I see a 12 foot tall leprechaun, and a 10 foot tall mime. they are not proportional to regular people, they are the same width, just really tall. I ask them "what are you guys doing here?" The mime answers. "None of your goddamned business!".
I walk back into my house, but before I can make it, the Leprechaun steps infront of the door way. I am then teleported to a car crash. A Mini Cooper had driven off the side of the road, and I saw the mangled corpses of the tall mimes. Then Christopher Walken appeared, said "What the fuck?", and the dream ended.
Christopher Walken was right.
(I posted this in the weird dreams Fast Thread, But was wondering if anyone could attempt to interpret this? Is my brain just fucked up?)
I think the reason the car was #234 was because that's the one that patrols my area so I see it a lot. I am Irish, not born or living in Ireland, but my grandparents and such were Irish. So that might in part explain the leprechaun thing?
Basically my dream started like the green mile and I was a prison guard, then I ended up in solitary confinement and my vision started stretching. I realized I was dreaming, so I started rubbing my hands, And then looked at my hand which was of course weird.
I did the steps in reverse order and realized I was dreaming without a reality check, so I think that's why I had a false awakening a couple seconds after looking at my hand. I was in hawaii explaining to my dad what lucid dreaming is, funnily enough, but then I woke up for real.
I'm not too bummed though, because that's some form of progress right?
I had a dream where I meet Alizee, we talked and stuff. The next thing I knew, I was driving around a neighborhood until I stopped at a pizzeria but wasn't ordering any pizza. Woke up after that.
It sounds short but it's long.
Tonight I dreamed something about me and some friend going to America. We were staying at sweet bro and hella jeffs place :smug: My subconscious made up how they would look in real life, they still looked like themselves, but they were also 100% realistic. It was pretty fun :v:
I was disappointed when I read in the main info post that you shouldn't attempt to hurt your subconscious, because that guy is an asshole and I wish to deliver swift justice to his face for all the problems he has caused me.
