I had another dream last night. Twas cool. I think it was a continuation of the night before's dream.
I was in some type of plane, and I jumped out. As soon as I hit the ground, I was in the same penthouse as the last dream, leading me to believe that the plane was from WWII (just read my last post). This time, I was sitting outside on the balcony at night, with that girl that I asked out in another dream.. She seems to be the focus of my last few dreams. Her name is Tess. We just sat next to each other, looking over a city. It seemed like we were still in a relationship, which lead me to believe that this was a THREE part dream, (since I asked her out two dreams ago). I told her that I had to go. She just told me to meet her somewhere when I was done. Suddenly, I was on the streets of the city, with my school P.E. teacher. He told me to go get something in a building. I walked to the top floor, which was dark and deserted (at night). Though this would have creeped me the fuck out if I was more aware, it seemed normal. I turned a corner and ran into a janitor, and we just engaged in a friendly conversation. It was strange. The scene switched to me looking over the railing of a yacht at a sunrise. I was still with Tess. I said I needed to go, and I was sorry I couldn't stay long. I ran alongside the edge of the boat, and took a bullet to the head, waking me up.
That dream was kind of boring, but at least I remembered it. Here's hoping that I remember my dream tonight. Maybe I'll go lucid or something, but whatever. Goodnight ladies.
Did anyone else have hallucination-esque dreams when they were very young?
Like, you're in bed, see something next to you, reach out to grab it, and there just isn't anything there and you're awake by the time you're about to touch it?
I just remember having those constantly, then being disappointed after. :saddowns:
I can never get a lucid dream intentionally. I always end up twitching when trying to do a WILD.
How do you guys do it :saddowns:
had a dream I got a remote controlled plane which was quite flimsy, yet it took ages to build and could carry a TV on the front of it. didn't get to fly it though.
Last night, I had a dream where me and my entire english class were transported into S.T.A.L.K.E.R Call of Pripyat. Most of them died either because of the local wildlife killed them, or the anomalies. One of my fellow classmates, a hot girl named Kateri, got caught in a Burner Anomaly and died, even though I told her not to go into the direction. I knew there was an anomaly there because I had an anomaly detector. Also, in the dream I had the ability to speak in fluent Russian.
Had 3 false awakenings in a row last night, I did a reality test after each one and became lucid, it was a pretty good night (in terms of dreams). I woke up by the end of it and my reality tests didn't work but I was convinced I must of been having my 4th false awakening I got up and did a bunch of tests.
I successfully dreamed last night! Twice, actually! :buddy:
First Dream:
A dream I've had before. The beginning is a blur of fancy dinner parties in a city, and finally I'm in car, diving up a mountain road. When I reach the top, there are 6 identical houses, each with a different color roof. They are all 1 story, 1 room houses, with their door smack in the middle of the front. One window is on each side. They're arranged on a round-cornered rectangle of a summit (This is the top a mountain), and they all resemble the dwarfs' house in Snow White. The house arrangement:
H = house, T = Tree/bush, M = me 1, m = me 2, ^ = the driveway up, O = old man, G = golf cart (I'll work on this map)
TTTTTTTTTTTTTT
............TTTT
............T..H
............TM..
............T..H
.....G..........
....O.m........H
.^.TTTT.H.H.H.
From a sense of deja vu, I knew what my task was. (When I had this dream before, I'm pretty sure my task was to kill all six people living there (who happen to be the people from the parties), without anyone else at the top knowing, so they slowly shrunk in numbers. There was a groundhog day mechanic in this, so I had to do this over and over again.) I hid behind the bushes next to the far set of houses, watching through a small hole in the shrubs. Much to my surprise, a nice old man, reminiscent of Mr. Rogers, pulled up in a golf cart. I walked over to him and talked to him (but I don't think we actually said anything), and then more gray blur.
[editline]19th March 2011[/editline]
Second Dream:
I think this one also has recurrent parts. There is a large, non-spatially correct house (the recurring bit), but this time with a family in it. The house is sitting on an endless field of grass. Inside are hundreds of confusing, shifting rooms that have absolutely no point. I'm trying to get up to the top floor, to see the family living in the house, for reasons I no longer remember. Once I make my way to the top, I find them in a room about the length of the house, and around half the width. The floor is hardwood, a dark brown with a glossy finish. There is a window on a side wall near the end, next to a large switch. When I pull the switch, the view from the window turns 90 degrees to the right. After this I have another bout of gray blurriness.
I have a feeling I shouldn't have read Problem Sleuth before going to bed :\
today i had this horrible dream, I was in my holiday house and suddenly there were evil spirits there that shut the doors and other bad things happened. There were certain spots in the house that had high spirit activity and whenever I entered one, I felt weird and wanted to get out of that spot as fast as I could.
Then I remember this fragment of my dream where I was actually lying in my real bed here where I am now and I saw the door opening slowly. It almost fully opened and then someone shut it very hard.
It was scary because I remember a few people entered my room this morning (around 10am) and took something. I asked today and my brother took a pen and my mother took my scissor.
The worst dream i had was for like 4 days ago when i fell asleep. It was a scary as hell nightmare. I woke up in Norway at my friends house, when i walked out of his house i saw blood everywhere. it was like nothing in the world excisted. when i looked at a house i saw it vanishing part after part. i got scared and ran away to save myself, but when i continued i saw a big mob of zombies standing outside my house and i fell down and saw my mom and dad getting eaten alive, I started crying and ran for my life to save myself from the zombies. I got tired and stopped for some second, when I heard someone walking like 10 meters away from me. It was a zombie. I closed my eyes hoping for me to wake up, but it didn't work. So i closed my eyes again thinking of some weapon I could get so i tough of a sniper. But the problem was that the sniper was behind the zombie. (maybe i got scared and didn't stop thinking about the zombie) so i ran toward him jumping and did a kick like Nero did on dante at devil may cry 4. he fell and I got the weapon. I turned around and shoot down the zombie, when i heard a mob running towards me. I ran as fast as i could so i could reach my old school there i could climb up to the roof and camp there until all of them runned past. I turned around and saw a zombie behind me came right at my face and POOFFF i woke up with a VERY big headace
Learning to sleep better, still no serious dreams. Anyone know if sleeping pills help or what?
I had an incredibly stupid dream today.
I was riding on a bicycle with my mom to Trakai. But on the way to Trakai, we somehow took a turn to the right that led us into some kind of a field. After taking the turn to the right, I, for some reason, teleported 10 meters above the ground and shouted "WHAT THE FUUUUUCK", I heard my mom shout "I heard that!".
The landing wasn't even painful, when we reached the end of the road that magically came out of nowhere, I waited for my mom to catch up. When she did, I said "Well, that was a nice evening ride, time to head home". I turned back, and for some reason my dad was there. I asked him how he got here, and he said that he had no idea. I asked him if he wants me to give him a lift back, but he said that he's "better off on foot".
And then I woke up.
This entire dream is the cause of me missing cycling from where I live to and fro Trakai that I did during Summer (after Summer it's school, no free time, and then winter and spring which is cold = cycling only during Summer).
Barely anything last night, just a brief memory of toilet sitting on a short stone column (short enough that you can still stand on it), that was broken, and some guy I know from school sleeping on the ground.
Oh wow, just realized there was some stuff people said that I was wondering about, but never got around to asking about. Feel free to rate me a late
I was talking to him about what he can do about lucid dreams at first. He seemed chill. He said he won't make me lucid and that I have to do it myself. So I asked him if it had anything to do with being chivalrous. He said yes. And then that thing about being forgetful. I couldn't understand the response, I was a pen held by a chain. I guess thats when it started. I assumed it was just me losing focus or something. I asked some more stuff, it shook again. I asked him if it was him, he said. I asked him to do it again, and he did it. And then I stopped talking.
Right, so I thought about what the pen held by a chain could mean, and I came up with the idea that the pen is your ability to tell people stuff, and the chain is your subconscious, thus your sub controls what you are able to tell people using the metaphorical chains. Dunno about the accuracy of that, that's just what I thought of.
Also, I was just focused on the whole 'creepy as hell', 'felt like I was possessed' stuff, and I just thought that there wasn't much point in making you feel that way unless your sub was trying to make a point, i.e., was pissed. Naturally, the i.e. part was flawed logic, so I'll have to retract everything I said except for the bit about how he shouldn't do it again if it creeps you out so much. Unless you ask, of course.
And yeah, it sucks when subs refuse to give LDs just because you need to make some sort of personal effort or some crap like that. You hear that, me? I'm getting tired of having to try ;p
Had another talk with my subconscious last night, in a WILD. This time he was a cat instead of a seagull. A couple things:
1) After viewing a bunch of incredibly detailed book and DVD covers created by my brain, I asked him if he was able to boost my skills to draw that stuff in real life, he said no. Asked it three times and always no.
2) I asked him how much 1 dream minute is in real life. He said "1 minute in a dream equals 6 minutes in real life". No idea how true that is but that's what it answered.
I then ended the dream by making a passenger jet crash into my neighbor's house. Started fading and found myself awake.
1) Well naturally; just because you can imagine them doesn't mean you can reproduce them exactly. Stuff in dreams seem to have some sort of special something most of time that just doesn't translate well. You could, however, ask to imagine up these things in super-high detail, then try reproducing them as best you can.
2)I dunno the specifics either, assuming that such specifics exist
more or less, yeah. i've timed it.
it depends, though. six minutes in a dream to one minute in real life only holds if you're trying to emulate real life, otherwise it can be months or anything you want it to be, because your brain is capable of working at any speed it wants.
Well yeah, it can speed up so long as you sacrifice detail. Ends up being more like a montage, really. Which I suppose is what you mean by 'trying to emulate real life'. Funny thing is it even when 'trying to emulate real life', it works faster because it is sacrificing detail, just stuff you aren't paying attention to. Which might explain why things can pop up out of nowhere, because your brain hasn't been thinking about what that spot you weren't looking at was doing, so once you pay attention to it, it decides it could have been doing anything, hence nuclear-powered unicycles
I'm curious, though... how did you time it?
EDIT: Oh yeah, and in personal news my sub apparently supports the idea of being a talking sword throughout multiple dreams, which is an awesome change. Though I guess its problems before were with showing up as a specific person.
Clearly this is because I hate humans
My sub occasionally makes me lucid for no reason, even if to try to train me to do it myself.
My sub occasionally makes me lucid for no reason, even if to try to train me to do it myself.
Yeah same here, I had a dream where i told myself i was dreaming and i was lucid for a moment.
I had a dream last night that I'm kind of confused about and was wondering if I could get help interpreting it.
Basically all the dream was, was me talking to my friend. The thing was though, she had dyed her hair. The entire dream was just us talking outside. I don't remember what we were talking about, but it had to have been something weird or awkward, because there was a lot of silence at certain parts. Her and I dated 3 years ago if that helps with anything.
Sorry if this is either something easy to interpret, or if this isn't even the right thread to ask about this in.
I just had a dream I'd rather not record, let's just say it involved hacksaws.
What is wrong with me? :saddowns:
We all have messed up dreams occasionally.
Nothing is wrong with you.
I had a dream last night that I was somehow in a time travel incident and ended up at E3 in 09 and I was trying to prove I was from the future but didn't remember what came out that year, so I couldn't do it. And then my clothes got all dirty and i tried to go to my hotel room but because it was two years ago, my stuff wasn't there. ):
and then I got trapped in narnia. Not sure how that happened.
ugh I hate it when I have a dream and then the memory of it is in my head but I still don't know what the hell happened

Well fine, since nobody seems willing to reply, I will.
Not much to say about it though... clearly you're still thinking about her in some way, though without detail it'd be hasty to assume any specific reason why. It could have been you two talking about your relationship that is now firmly in the past (certainly awkward enough, imo), but again, I have no clue so you should seriously see if anyone else has some better idea of what it means. And by 'see' I mean 'harass them to the point of rage', naturally
As for whether this is easy, or the right thread for it, I have to say that I know of no thread better (then again, I know of no other threads whatsoever), but that dreams often have layers of meaning. Hence interpretation is more the journey than the goal, if that makes any sense.
If it doesn't, then I'll just say that dreams can never be totally figured out, because there's always something you don't think about/remember that actually means something. Or maybe it doesn't mean anything but you think it does. Anyways, you just have to judge whether it's worth interpreting any more.
God, I need to break my habit of starting by answering someone's questions then ending with a long and confusing rant about the inherently difficult-to-explain.
I got a Lucid nightmare story to tell you. I also want to ask why did it happen.
So, It starts out when i was NOT lucid.
This one guy was chasing me, he had a razorblade or some sort, and he tried to make deep cuts to me, and beat the shit out of me or whatnot.
When i crawled in a narrow tunnel thing, i noticed something and realized im dreaming. I turn around and think "Im gonna whoop his ass" I knew he was running my way, so i ran against him. I saw the shadowy figure come from behind the corner and BOOM! I smashed his face with my fist. or... should i say, i smacked her face with my fist. The person i hit was my mother.
Now here stuff got interesting. I first thought that "oh hahah my dreams are sure weird", and i just thought "its just a dream character." However, suddenly i started feeling bad. like i did something wrong.
i thought to myself "Why am i feeling bad? This is just a dream" an my mom in the dream just looked at me looking very confused, holding her hand on her bloody nose.
Now at this part i start feeling sort of scared, and my dream became to collapse. everything started to fade. I KNEW that here starts the nightmare, somehow.
Now lucid nightmares are bad. Whatever you think that might happen, is probably going to happen. I appeared in a big, dark bathroom with sauna and shower space. There was a little moonlight coming in from the only window. i heard a leaking water tap, which made a drip of water on regular intervals. Just like i thought where i was gonna end up. And boy was i scared. I was so scared that i couldnt move. i couldnt move a finger. I couldnt even move my eyes, because i was so scared. i just looked straight forward, and feared for the worst.
The same second i think "Whats gonna happen next, and i imagine what could happen, it happens.
I see red eyes of some sort of wolf or something. Just like i feared. It approaches me, I still cant move. Well i could have physically moved, but i didnt, because of how scared i was. I tried to wake myself up from the dream. I couldnt. I was stuck. I thought of Zin's advice on nightmares.
Remembered the lines:"hug it, kiss it and the nightmare could turn out to be something else." I just thought "Oh hell no im not gonna hug that." I still just watched forward, only hearing the water drip.
The wolf started to rip my hand. It bit through the palm of my hand and rips it. Still cant move even my eyes. The wolf sort of submits to me as i think of zin's advice. It started to lick the wound on my hand. I pet him with my hand. Still so frightened, i didnt look at the wolf. Thought that i must hug it to get this nightmare go away, but i couldnt.
Then the wolf just... jumped up and sank his teeth into my face.
I wake up.
Now for the questions. Was my mother in the dream my subconcious? cause i dont seem to find the reason why i felt so damn bad, even though knowing its just a character of my imagination.

I'd just as soon go the easy route and say it was because your dream didn't go according to plan, hence your mom's reaction, and your sense of having done something wrong.
While the idea that your sub would have planned out a dream about you being chased down by a guy with a razor blade is a little unusual to me, I totally believe in the idea that some dreams are made to follow a script, and becoming lucid can screw up the story. Sometimes.
And for the love of god people, when someone asks for help with a dream you should respond instead of all becoming mysteriously silent for tens of hours at a time. I don't like being the only one responding, because without other opinions I can't tell just how full of crap I am at any given moment

I was going to make a sarcastic response to this but I need to go to bed. Insulting the quality of your 'help' can always wait till the morning, after all
In related news, I'm apparently a grumpy old coot that hates kids, especially when they're on my damn lawn
You know, judging by my latest posts
Gonna need ta fix that at some point
Few posts and this thread is gone. Anybody working on V3?

Well it was really only going to be about how you said 'Bah humbug, I'll help', then left it at that. In retrospect, I suppose you could have meant you will help in the future, but that's not quite how I took it.
Ugh, was falling asleep in math class today... again. I was having that weird thing where I was like 'no yeah, that makes sense, after all the aliens wouldn't... wait, what'. Or I'd look at something and see something else... I could have sworn I saw English in all that algebra
Likewise at work, I was stuffing letters for a mass mailing, and I kept on sort of half-asleep-edly see something specific to the person in the letter. I was just hallucinating though.
I had a dream last night that started out with some Touhou characters near my old high school, which was bombed then orbital artilleried. It somehow transitioned to X-Men, and Rogue was sort of the focus, only her power was to nullify all nearby powers. She struck out on her own due to some conflict, went back to my school looking for shelter from a storm, when some mutant thugs came by and struck a deal with her to strengthen up the place. Then the thugs partied and were surprisingly not dicks to Rogue, though she was secretly wanting to bring her parents there to keep them safe in the storm too.
I'll admit the only thing I see as meaningful is the repeated location of my old high school; surprisingly, it was not a godforsaken hellhole. In fact, I'd go so far as to say I miss it, and I guess it shows...
Oh, and I was actually sleeping through a thunderstorm, so it might have transfered into my dream.
Tl;dr for Oblivious1: Stuff
I had a dream that was pretty much Bulletstorm. Even had charge shots, and I was fighting the mechaton monster that was only 5 stories tall. It was awesome, no control though. It also took place on a small map that was mostly construction and a bit of sewer. I could probably draw it from memory as well as the dream. From what I remember I was fighting the mechaton As it burst through a concrete wall I shoot it as I run in an arc left and dive under into a concrete sewer pipe. The mechaton released Land sharks(From the DnD 3.5 monster manual look like a shark and a dog mixed together but with a hard exoskeleton) I ran away from it into a glass blast door. I closed it behind me and the land shark tries getting in. Then the mechaton starts smashing the roof causing a metal I-Beam to crush the land shark and I run out the blast doors again out the same sewer pipe And primed a charge shot from the Bulletstorm assault rifle and shot a giant fuel tank that it was next too. Explosion and my dream changed to a Giraffe fighting a Zebra. Ill upload pictures in a bit.
[editline]22nd March 2011[/editline]
Well here's what the zebra and giraffe fight looked like.
