Don't worry about it, Jimm's subconscious. It won't happen again unless you specifically ask it to. Which you will, but not for a long time.
Ugh... I have the feeling that this is going to be one of those times where we never find out what the deal is because the person isn't ready to find out what it all means. Which I hate.... -_- I mean, it's the smart thing to do, but I STILL WANNA KNOW GODDAMMIT EDIT: OH YEAH, my post. I tried lucid dreaming last night, but evidently my shadow (or the general concept anyways, ala Jungian archetype) kept stopping my dreams. I don't remember how, but my sub says I shouldn't remember. Though I doubt it was traumatic, but whatevs
Do tell.
Woke up this morning, ate breakfast went to bed for an hour nap, and felt weird, like on my pillow i kept feel like my head was being pulled randomly and sporadic bits of SP, but i managed to fall asleep (Mantra being "i will lucid dream") Anyway, enter the dream and im playing the 'new' no more heroes 2, and im sat in this yellow lambo driving around town listning to some rock jumping bridges and what not untill i get out of the car. So im walking along and i hear this voice saying "be careful" and its odd, at that point my dream eyes just opened, i began to take every little detail into account then it hit me "i'm dreaming" i did an RC and bam. i was dreaming So i began touching stuff in the dream, this metal sign this brick wall, really taking it in then i got too excited and lost it, tried spinning but everything went black, my heart was beating like crazy. Then had a false awakening where i was under sleep paralysis, where i half got out of bed under the effects of it then i woke up again.
Ugh, does anyone else ever have sort of... this is hard to describe... really indisinct dreams where your mind races and thoughts just sort of overload? It's like mock-dreaming or something. It only ever happens to me when I either have been finding it hard to sleep, or have woken up then tried to go back to sleep, but it's really weird, because it's a sort of a weird between-sleep thing. I'm not sure if I even go into SP or not, some are more immersible than others >.<
This has been happening to me for a while. Pretty strong lately. I woke up yesterday and has such amazing self confidence, I said to my self: Fuck this Ima go daydream a lucid dream. I ended up doing three of them. The third one, I was getting bored and summoned my sub. A chick appeared in front of me (my pastor's daughter :P) and I asked her "are you my sub?" she said yes. The strange forced dream then started to collapse and as everything faded away, I said "If you are really my subconscious, promise to give my a ludic dream next time I sleep. She said yes. That was my test. Last night, I didnt specifically remember going lucid, but she was in 2 out of 3 (maybe all three) of my dreams. Right now I'm almost certain that she is my sub. Through the forced daydream part, I could still control my body, but didnt chose to. It was like I was telling my body to do something, but holding back.
What is this.
dear gawd. submlimenal messaging. methinks [editline]11:31AM[/editline] I have a strange feeling I should keep this paintey .Png
Reading all of this makes we want to explain every one of my dreams... RAWR! Yeah, excuse my newness, this is my first post, but I've been lurking for quite a while  Anyway, when I was younger I had this hilarious dream that was part-reality. I was asleep when my little brother ran into my room, so I half-woke up, and when he opened the door, I saw this huge fireball and heard an explosion in the hallway, then he ran out, closed the door then it just went away. I don't know why, but it seemed hilarious to me.. I also have these weirdass dreams when I have fevers.. In every single one, I feel this strange sense of fear that I never feel anywhere else, and I usually sleepwalk during these. One time when I had a fever, I woke up sitting on my couch downstairs with only my boxers on.. it was weird
Welcome to Facepunch. I sleepwalked once. Fun stuff.
Explain please.
It'll depend on what he was dreaming about when that showed up, and it's hard to explain what it means. It's easier to explain how it makes you feel, but even that's going to be hard. He drew the feeling you get when you think about when you were a kid. That feeling you remember having when you had no responsibilities, when life was just simple. All that mattered was having fun. When you were loved by everyone and just could enjoy being a kid. That feeling you had that you didn't realize you had until it was gone. The one you had until you had to start growing up. He drew the feeling of youth. And the reason I said what I said is because most people just can't handle feeling that when they're not in the right position to do so. It feels out of place. He'll eventually be at a point in his relations with his subconscious that he'll be okay feeling lost feelings and memories, but he's not there yet.
i cant go lucid unless my sub wants me too. i cant force it. i dont remember to do reality checks. what the hell?
Keep practicing. Remember to do reality checks. It's hard, but no one's ever said this was easy or could be done overnight.
We seriously need a "Wise" rating ^
Holy crap Zin, how is anyone supposed to follow up on THAT?! That.... it... just............. wow. Makes me feel like a douche for posting such comparatively stupid crap.
Sorry. :< I do that sometimes. What's really interesting is that I could probably trace someone's childhood experience using that drawing.
Sorry. :< I do that sometimes. What's really interesting is that I could probably trace someone's childhood experience using that drawing.
I get the feeling this isn't really something someone can learn unless they've experienced it themselves. I hope to one day get to that point... Or if it can be taught, I'd be interested in learning. I mean, I am either way, but... Seriously, there's magic all up in this shit
Sorry. :< I do that sometimes. What's really interesting is that I could probably trace someone's childhood experience using that drawing.
DO IT please DO IT
Sorry. :< I do that sometimes. What's really interesting is that I could probably trace someone's childhood experience using that drawing.
Do it. [editline]08:27PM[/editline] But send it in a PM first.
So then...... I was right when I said subliminal messaging? I really like this. Considering weather or not to make it my desktop background. Its like a nostalgia trip, only simple.
What is this.
I think i saw a girl with hair like that
SUP! I've always liked to lurk Facepunch, but when I saw this thread I had to register. I want to start off my introduction with a little story with how I accidentally had my first lucid dream: (Let me just say that prior to this dream, I never wanted to lucid dream and had no idea of how to lucid dream. However, I knew what it was and thought it was awesome.) I think it all began one weekend when I decided to challenge myself to stay awake for 2 days in a row. My goal was to get my sleep schedule back on track. You see, I would be so tired from being up for 2 days in a row that when I would fall asleep early I'd wake up early and thus, reset my sleep schedule for school! This was my (and still is) my distorted idea of "restarting my internal clock".I always feel like I'm trolling my internal clock when I do this, but hey, it works! (sometimes). Anyways, I finally rest my head on my pillow and go to sleep. My eyes open and next thing you know I'm awake! Or at least I THOUGHT I was. "Well, another dreadful morning before school...", I said to myself. I got out of bed, walked to the bathroom, and looked in the mirror. Now this is hard to describe: I saw my face, but didn't at the same time. Everything looked blurry, but clear. As if the whole bathroom was filled with clouds, blurry, blurry clouds. A strange feeling came over me. I stared at my palms and I realized, "I'm IN MY DREAM!" I remembered to keep my cool, but if you've experienced a lucid dream before as an amateur you know that's hard to do. Suddenly, as if the walls of my bathroom were props being pulled away by ropes high above on a stage, I was in some feudal-era Japanese town and in front of me stood a samurai (or a ninja, I forgot). I imagined a sword in my hand without a second thought and ran ON a wall to attack the warrior. When I went to strike I...I... I woke up. Adrenaline rushed through my body thanks to my first lucid dream. It turned my usual painful morning into a joyride of energy and excitement. I played back my dream over and over again as I took a shower. I loved it. I had no technique or idea how to enter a lucid dream prior to this, but I knew about them. However, contradicting to what one might think after reading this, after that, I never became dedicated to lucid dreaming! It's been awhile since I heard about lucid dreaming, but now that I saw this topic, it rekindled my flame, the ambition to really get into this. I'd love to learn how to lucid dream all the time.
I had a lucid dream this morning and I was wondering if anyone had tips on remaining in a dream or staying lucid? I'd fallen asleep around 12:40-12:50 ish AM, went through sleep paralysis (which was terrifying, but I got through it), and almost instantly realized I was dreaming despite the fact that it began with me in my bed as if I'd simply woken up (what's that called again?). I'd rubbed my hands together, started reaching out for objects around my bed, and screamed to gain more lucidity and control. But out of nowhere I woke up again at 1:10 AM and couldn't get back in to a dream.

As a person who is actively training to have one myself this is extremely frustrating, lol, but good for you. :neckbeard:
I had a lucid dream this morning and I was wondering if anyone had tips on remaining in a dream or staying lucid? If you woke up you may have gotten over excited, it is a common problem and you will need to control it. Lucid dreaming is so cool it implodes upon the realization of it.
Hell, even if I never have another lucid ever again, I'm still VERY satisfied with my progress with dream recall over the past 7-8 days. I mean, I literally went from feeling lucky if I remembered one dream a month to remembering at LEAST 2 a night (My record is like... 5 or 6, though some are merely fragments.). On the negative side, all this reading and training into LDs has made the act of actually sleeping 478% harder than before I took a serious interest in it... MILDs more often than not feel like WILD attempts because despite my efforts, I'm always waiting for that jump into asleepidness... Even when I abandon any specialised techniques and really just want to fall asleep... Where before I could fall asleep in an earthquake with a strobe light in my face, now it seems I can't sleep anywhere but a pitch-black, totally silent room. :argh: I'm sure it'll sort itself out eventually.

I guess I'll just try to keep my cool some more next time :smug: Except there seems to be a loooong time between each time I lucid dream; the last time I had a lucid dream before this was maybe a month or two ago :ohdear:

I don't recall as many dreams, maybe one a night on days i am not preoccupied with my real life. I missed two days in a row because i was thinking about politics and then i got back into the dream stuff. Now I'm back on track, i remembered the dream i posted earlier (and writing it down initially, then revising it to post it on the boards actually DOES help me recall bits of the dream i forgot to write down before), I'm getting quite tired now. I'll be dreaming soon *hooray* Also don't force LDs, it is something you need to train yourself to do, sure, but more sleep doesn't necessarily mean more chances to LD, don't burn yourself out. Keep up the reality checking and maintain a normal sleep schedule.

You just kind of have to...know it. I don't know how I do, I just do. My brain just operates in exactly the right way, I guess.
DO IT please DO IT
I can't be specific, obviously. All I can tell from that picture (I forgot whose it was) is that they had a pretty okay childhood, all things considered. Few bumps along the way. I'm guessing three or four things happened to him, but I have no idea.

I'm guessing you moved when you were a kid. Probably more than twice.
Dog died. (Cat?)
I really don't want to go there, but it's a possibility. Parents divorced?
Other than that, seemed okay. (Note that I have no fucking idea what I'm talking about, never tried that before. Just a shot in the dark.)
Is it possible to have a dream about lucid dreaming but not actually be lucid in the dream, because I swear I had a dream where I was lucid but I actually wasn't because it didn't behave the way It should have.
So, appreantly I have a menu in my lucidity that lets me access dream recordings and playback, as well as activate dream scenarios. Fucked as shit, I learned the hard way to not activate Scenario: Shade. It asked me 3 times if I was sure.....
Is it possible that your sub can stop you from using WILD? I've tried it almost every night for about 2 weeks, I feel numb and a weird falling backwards sensation, but I never see patterns, or hear sounds even after lying for a long time I want to speak to my sub so much :frown: I swear it'll help me get out of my current condition, by realising what I'm really like I don't move at all, and ignore all itches of course
Wow that was odd, unlike most days i didn't remember my dream immediately, i was awoken by my neighbors' dogs (fucking city workers like to trespass), anyway, after i sat down on my computer chair and hooked up my keyboard it hit me, bam. HOLY FUCK i had a dream, information rushed to me upon this realization, i mostly remembered i was in a dream because "Jonah Hill" was there but it was the strangest damn thing really, i went from instantly forgetting i even had a dream, seriously, i asked myself that question and i STILL didn't know until after all this, then i remembered EVERYTHING. Heh. Here it is, anyway (I also almost became lucid because i saw him, no luck though, i'll explain)
The dream started in a house, it was atop a mountain in the desert and a winding paved road lead to it, it was pretty high up, i don't remember exactly why i did this but i put on fake army garb and parachuted off the side of the mountain, when i hit it's base there was a gathering of army men who proceeded to poke fun at my army suit, since it was fake i looked nothing like them, sort of like i was playing dress up. (I had on green jungle camo and they had on their beige "American" garb. I proceed to head into town, it reminds me kind of like the 1950s, restaurant where people like to hang out and lots of teenagers and a school which is extremely social. I meet this girl and explain to her that i need to get back on top of the mountain, i had fallen a very long way and didn't have a car to get back up there (ever tried climbing a mountain by yourself? lol, seriously my brain processed this information, even taking the road or climbing up on foot it would have taken forever by my dream estimations) I explained to her that, "Well i couldn't very well climb back up there", she laughed and agreed to try to help, but then a disaster hits the town, i don't remember the exact circumstances of it's demise so i will just say that everyone but me and this girl are dead after it, as well as one Native American man. He decides to join us because well, everyone is dead. We trek to the next town, this one is more like a pit stop and it "dies" too, i don't remember how but we will skip it since nothing major happens here. We finally make it to the third town, we start asking around and telling people what happened and we go through the local high school, i see Jonah Hill and what looks to be his group of friends and i give him this intense glaring stare, like something is messed up because he is there, my "logic" overwhelms me because i don't know, my dreams are powerful, you will see why next. I go to the local restaurant which looks like a carbon copy of the restaurant from the first town, except with different people. Water starts flooding the inside of the place (like rising up, the restaurant's water level was actually rising until water was touching the table tops) and seals, yes, motherfucking seals start attacking people and murdering them, for some reason it the Native American man starts straight up taking bites out of people too, like a seal, the girl who is with me ends up stabbing him to death. The disaster stops and whats left of the town is saved, turns out the Native American man following us was the cause of the problems all along, that is the end of the story though. Dream is over, i wake up. (because of dogs)
Odd place my subconscious.
Is it possible to have a dream about lucid dreaming but not actually be lucid in the dream, because I swear I had a dream where I was lucid but I actually wasn't because it didn't behave the way It should have.
If you mean you had NO control yes it's possible though rarely happens from what I've gathered, if you mean you had control over yourself but random events would occur that is common, solid_jake's stories are a testament to that.
So, appreantly I have a menu in my lucidity that lets me access dream recordings and playback, as well as activate dream scenarios. It sounds profoundly interesting.
Wat, it sounds like your mind is trying to rationalize lucid dreaming by relating it to a computer program. Honestly, the first thing that popped into my mind when I heard this was "GMOD!" Zin, now that you have answered the "wonderful scribbles of emotion" question, maybe you should address the daydreaming (for lack of a better term) issue. I would be very interested in hearing your theories. I'm sure jessbinx would be too; we seem to be experiencing something similar, if not the same thing. [editline]11:17AM[/editline] I always suspected seals were evil...

I just never get dreams. D:
I just never get dreams. D:
Yes you do, everyone dreams just not everyone can remember them. [editline]05:39PM[/editline] Post #500 :toot:
I just never get dreams. D:
Eat banana and peanut butter toast (Sans the peanut butter if you're allergic of course.) and write down ANYTHING you remember the night before, even if its just a feeling you have after waking up and you can't remember zilch the night before. Barring catastrophic stress or a sleep schedule FAR more screwed up than mine (Which I doubt is even possible.) you WILL gain at least decent dream recall in a week or less.
