Who? also can you explain the blackness in my other previous post? And also please explain how people can speak to their sub at day time please.
Huge porn star. No pun intended. I have no idea. That's weird. It happens after a while, not sure why.
I had a dream that I got banned then facepunch went down then I went pheasant hunting...... oh wait.... Anyways, I've been hitting the WILD naps like crazy. Havnt done a successful one yet, but when I wake up from one, I feel weird. like half bliss half daydream. For simplicities sake I have taken to calling this state "Dusk". From it I can close my eyes and create small areas in my mind and half see them. Sometimes I can move around, sometimes if I try the dusk will crash. I'm pretty sure.
I think I've experienced "Dusk" too. It's a feeling you get when you're woken up too early, but you can close your eyes right back and still feel like you're in the dream again, but know you're awake in real life at the same time, right? Like, if I would be having a dream of fishing, but I wake up in a state of "Dusk" I could lay back down, close my eyes, not sleep, but continue to fish right then and there. I TRIED MY FIRST MILD AND THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED: I went to sleep at 10:36 PM and woke up at 2:36 AM. Maybe I did my MILD right, but I forgot. I couldn't remember my MILD if I did have one not even anything. When I went into the bathroom to apply calamine cream for this god damn poison ivy I started to think of the dream. Two words came into my mind when trying to remember if I had a MILD: "Woody" and "Girl". Motherfucking WOODY? From Toy Story? I'll take the girl, thank you very much. I always think of that creepy woody instead of the Tom Hanks Pixar one thanks to those images that are always posted in the LMAO pics thread. I had two other dreams after that that woke me up, but they're not as interesting as one would think so I'll keep them in my dream journal. I believe I'm closer than ever before to lucid dreaming, I just need to improve my dream recalls and work on my RCs almost to the point where it's muscle memorized!
I think I've experienced "Dusk" too.
I did (do sometimes) all the time to get to sleep, I just closed my eyes started a dream and in 2 seconds I'd be really there. Can't you say it's just a lively imagination? Cause that how I usually started my sleep. Why I don't do I now any more is because I think it helped me sleep so much that I can pretty much sleep in 1 to 5 seconds. I think I could get into WILD pretty quick that way, but I just can't keep conscious. It's like a few seconds before I enter the dream I either get a ''shock'' that I am almost sleeping so I stop paying attention and fall asleep 2 seconds later. Or before the last few moments there's like a cloud blanket that goes over me that takes me away, or it's like a comfy sea. Edit: Thought of this a few days ago, what if one of your dream is so nice that you want to stay there forever. Now comes person A along and is able to dream lucid, so A visits that dream world daily. Can't that fuck up person A's perception of reality big? Like those old people in inception, that live their lives in their dreams.

This new state of drowsiness shall be called Dusk!
Omg! Dusk! That is exactly how I would described what happened this morning. I got woken up my mom letting one of my cats upstairs, and when I closed my eyes again to get back to sleep, I instead was in a really really light sleep, where I was still semi-aware of myself and everything. Because of this, I was viewing my dream I then had from a waking perspective and was able to cycle it on. After a minute of doing this, I was suddenly like "This is a lucid dream!" I tried to call out my sub. I was a little more immersed in the dream at this point, so it was beginning to go out of control. I asked for it out loud, and immediately, sort of transparently overlaying my view of the dreamscape, came some sort of symbol with writing beneath, and I was suddenly filled with knowledge that my sub wouldn't speak to me yet. Was this just a fabrication of what I wanted to happen, or was it really the first reaction from my sub? The dream was so light and sketchy I can't tell :(
UM automerge fail? I hope THIS works

I haven't even been able to summon my sub let alone talk to it. Also, should Dusk be considered lucid dreaming? It's like your mind was so immersed in the dream before it just fills it in for you. So could it be considered that? I really want to get in touch with my sub kind of like how Jake and the others have.
I met Ron Jeremy today.
Really? As in you really met the real Ron Jeremy?
Was this just a fabrication of what I wanted to happen, or was it really the first reaction from my sub?
Obviously both. :p
I asked for it out loud, and immediately, sort of transparently overlaying my view of the dreamscape, came some sort of symbol with writing beneath, and I was suddenly filled with knowledge that my sub wouldn't speak to me yet.
So what was the symbol like?
So what was the symbol like?
I can't remember, other than it being roughly circular and very ornate, something intertwining with it. The closest thing I could describe it to is probably the Dark Mark from Harry Potter, though it wasn't really much like that either. The whole thing was really unstable and sketchy.
That's Awesome, Jess! I haven't even been able to summon my sub let alone talk to it. Also, should Dusk be considered lucid dreaming? It's like your mind was so immersed in the dream before it just fills it in for you. So could it be considered that?
I'd say so, though I guess it depends in what context it appears. Mine happened straight after coming out of another dream and being conscious for half a minute, so I guess in my case it was a little like DEILD (dream exit induced lucid dream). Going straight into it, it's more like a daydream, or a WILD without paralysis, I'm guessing. It seems like a very efficient way to go lucid in any case. Lol, Birdman, I'm now using "Dusking" as a proper term in my DJ.

It'll be useful later.
I was in the city used for the first dream layer of inception, and I'm pretty sure that I was Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and it was in this weird 3rd person view. I don't remember what happened here, but at one point I realized I flew to a wall, similar to that scene when the car crashes through the bridge and Joseph flung towards the ceiling. I ended up in some pillars, and there were some statues below, they were kinda "pixelated" for some reason, and all of them were holding a weird metal symbol (below) that was hooked to a chain. I tried rubbing my hands to not wake up, which in previous lucid dreams made everything crystal clear, but nothing happened. I was still in this weird 3rd person view. Then, this guy walked towards me saying "that won't work", and I kept thinking "this isn't my sub, my sub's supposed to be a girl". IIRC, he was dressed similarly to the statues below, and he had a robe and hoody blocking most of his face. I could tell it was a guy though. He kinda pushed me off the pillars and I was kept there falling in slow motion. Now, what I'm about to say won't make much sense because I don't remember it very clearly, but it went something like this: As I was falling, I heard the voice of this guy saying "All of these [statues] are your sub's" and I was like wtf, and the image that came to mind was Assassin's Creed, and Desmond having all of those ancestors. Then I leapt towards the first statue, which looked exactly like the guy. He said "attack me, and you will die." I was like "ok, I'll take your word for it". I was on the ground already, and the 2nd statue's (which looked like a girl in a robe and a hoody) metal thing fell to the ground, still held by a chain. That metal thing started to glow, and I was drawn to it. It was quickly pulled by the chain and it was coming to it's original position, which was between the hands of the statues. I flew towards the metal thing, and before it reached the statue's hand, I made a weird rope fly from my hand towards that metal thing (think of it like Scorpion in Mortal Kombat), and it made me dash towards this metal thing. Everything turned white, and then the dream turned into a "trailer" for Assassin's Creed 3.
The symbol they were holding looked like this But...uh...you know more symmetrical.

Fine, ruin our fun... :saddowns: ...I'm still going to call it Dusk, but I never knew about C-WILD! I'm going to try this after I wake up from another unsuccessful MILD.
The symbol they were holding looked like this But...uh...you know more symmetrical.
Use imgur.com instead.
Use imgur.com instead.
works even less
Looked in a mirror a month or so ago. I was walking around and realized I was dreaming, so I decided to look in a mirror. It all looked normal but then I froze and everything around me started looping (like a cd player does but with motion). I panicked and got pushed out of my dream. I guess mirrors don't work as tests for me. Maybe because I understand them? Trying to let myself lucid dream but I can't do it like I used to. I need some help.
I literally went into a mirror in my last LD. I did it as a test (I'm taking a rather gradual approach to what I do in LDs.) and when I entered, it turned everyone around me (Myself included.) into kids. I looked around a bit, mostly at the other mirrors I saw. One mirror showed my normal, not de-aged self with glowing yellow eyes, didn't phase me at al and I kept looking around. After a bit, it was like my dream snapped me back to before I entered the mirror. I went all secret agent action star after that and willed weapons after some people in a supply closet took shots at me. But that mirror thing was the most interesting thing I have done thus far in a LD.
are you guys really trying to interpret your dreams dont wanna be an asshole here and kill your fun but its just recollection of past (visually occuring) memories, not much reasoning to make the whole dream thing out to be bigger than it really is. to me its like going into drug discussion and seeing everyone form some culture around drugs i enjoy sleep and such myself but the interpretation stuff is very superstitious
I'm happy for you, but why the hell is everyone calling it Dusk? It's exactly like a C-WILD.
gee, Zin, thanks for pissing on my parade! JK. really though you couldnt have mentioned C-WILD last time I asked you about immersive daydreams? whatever, its k.
Anyways, I've been hitting the WILD naps like crazy. I really have no idea what to think. thanks buuuuuuuuddy [editline]03:56PM[/editline] enjoy your boxes roswell. interpret that.
dont wanna be an asshole here and kill your fun
Well then don't. Besides, the visual memory thing seems much more suspicious to me. For example; blind people. Seriously, if dreams were that simple we would have figured that out by now. In any case, if a person's subconscious wants to let something be known, it'll do whatever it deems necessary, dreams included.
By the way, what the hell is a C-WILD, Zin? I googled it then im like: HURR DURR LUCID DREAMING INST A BIG TOPIC [editline]04:16PM[/editline] Im thinking about registering for a dreamviews mentor thing. If I mention subconscious stuff, will they think im a retarded troll?
are you guys really trying to interpret your dreams dont wanna be an asshole here and kill your fun but its just recollection of past (visually occuring) memories, not much reasoning to make the whole dream thing out to be bigger than it really is. to me its like going into drug discussion and seeing everyone form some culture around drugs i enjoy sleep and such myself but the interpretation stuff is very superstitious
Should I approach this from a theoretical standpoint, or a science one? Fuck it, I'll do both. From a science standpoint, you're wrong. Yes, past memories (like there are other kinds) are often manifested in dreams, and do sometimes make up the entirety of them. However, that's absolutely not all there is to it. Prepare for the :science:. So when you sleep, most of your conscious functions shut off. This is done for a variety of reasons that I know and can explain but don't matter. So basically you're an empty shell recharging for the next day. During this time, your unconscious comes out to play, and generally just romps around your dreams doing whatever the hell it wants. So memories do come into play, but sometimes they play absolutely no part as well. Emotions that you're feeling can manifest themselves in dreams, and these are generally what we talk about when we try to analyze dreams. Oftentimes, dreams can tell you things about yourself that you weren't aware of on a conscious level, or it can shed light on things you're confused about by showing how you honestly feel. You can't tell me this isn't useful, because it's incredibly useful. If you don't understand why we're doing what we're doing, then I honestly pity you. You're more than welcome to keep thinking we're idiots, but you're the one that loses in the long run. Besides, we're clearly far happier people than you are. Why would you try to tel us that we're wrong and stupid for doing things like this unless it's to make yourself feel better that either A) you can't do it, or B) you see that it makes us happy. Just chill, bro. You're welcome to join in to the discussion, but if you have nothing useful to say, there's really no reason for you to be here. Almost always initiates LDs. I wouldn't do that if I were you. I don't really like that program.
God its been a while since i have tried this. Wish me luck and good night.
Is C-WILD a little like DEILD? *Too many acronyms*
The symbol they were holding looked like this But...uh...you know more symmetrical.
So uh any input?

She says shes my Sub, but I still think she could just be a figment of my imagination. Is it possible that she is my sub?
-snip zin what do you mean? [editline]05:47PM[/editline] Better representation of the symbol. I can't really get the colour correctly, it was like a weird white-gold glow.
