Does your sub ever "shut off" like your conscious does when you sleep?
YOUR SUB IS NOT A SEPARATE THING, YOUR SUB IS YOU. alsdfhaw;fha;osefh;aosfoashef
it might be your dream sign.
A dream sign or MY dream sign?
YOUR SUB IS NOT A SEPARATE THING, YOUR SUB IS YOU. alsdfhaw;fha;osefh;aosfoashef
I know this, but you guys are always going on about how you're talking to your subconscious like it's another being. How the hell does one talk to their subconscious and have "it" talk to you back? Or are you just talking to yourself and whatever you think of in your head as a reply next you consider it words from your sub?
eeeeefffffffffffff. Im pretty mindfucked right now. I dont feel like sharing, but no moar thinking for me tonight. now, to relax and enjoy the mental relaxation that comes from eating. a lot. :) [editline]08:03PM[/editline]
Or are you just talking to yourself and whatever you think of in your head as a reply next you consider it words from your sub?
I think its this ^ but I dont know. my questions about subconciousness never get answered. but hey, at least hes not ignoring the thread because mindcraft anymore EDIT: Rage Rage Rage some more Zin is full of rage that whore My Haiku is win :frogdowns: JK man its all good natured
I had an interesting dream this morning. It was definitely not lucid, but it was the closest I came to it. I wasn't completely aware that I was dreaming the whole time, but I was able to change and do whatever I wanted to. It started out with my dad driving me in his car to this huge hotel-like thing next to an ocean. I get out, and suddenly two of my friends, Colin, and some other guy (I don't know who, but it could be my undercover sub), and three girls; Allison (A girl I recently developed a crush on),Nicole (this really annoying girl I didn't want to waste my time with), and another girl that I forget. We walk into our room, which was divided by a boys side and a girls side (sadly), and my friends and I sit and watch TV for a while. Allison walks from the girls section and tells me to come with her outside. When I open the door and step outside, we're suddenly on a large platform in the middle of an ocean, and my friends, the girls, or my dad are nowhere to be seen. She tells me to look into a mirror, so I turn around and there was a mirror right there. I see nothing. I realized I was dreaming and I woke up because I made the assumption that I would see scary things, but I fell back asleep in a matter of seconds into the same situation. I remembered advice from here, so I closed my eyes and rubbed my hands. I then saw a still picture of me in the mirror. I turned around and across a long open space was Allison and some idiot, Mitchell. They were talking, and I used my EPIC POWAHS (sorry) to bring her back to me. She said, "I didn't really like him anyway". Since I was dreaming, I decided to take her hand and start to fly. We didn't go too high, only about 30 feet, but then she directed me to some huge crane-like thing (no idea what it means). We sat in the drivers seat and she told me to start. I looked at the strange buttons and switches in confusion, and I turn to ask Allison a question, but she was gone. I then see my mom walk around a corner, and we waved to each other. I looked back to the crane, then woke up. What the hell was that? Well, it was interesting, and I haven't been doing MILD, WILD or any reality checks, but I might start some reality checks soon. Anyway, on the subject of "Dream symbols" my friend told me a while ago that he ALWAYS sees a Guitar Hero logo in his face when a normal dream is about to turn into a nightmare.
Can your sub listen to your thoughts?
Yes. This is why MILD works.
Does your sub ever "shut off" like your conscious does when you sleep?
Well, obviously not entirely since you still breathe. [lol, /troll] Deeper stages of non-REM sleep likely serve as break time for your sub. Your brain is never entirely off, but there's definitely less going on.
I know this, but you guys are always going on about how you're talking to your subconscious like it's another being. How the hell does one talk to their subconscious and have "it" talk to you back? Or are you just talking to yourself and whatever you think of in your head as a reply next you consider it words from your sub?
Well, it's easier in dreams because while it is all from your mind, you can't consciously control it all anyways. Your sub can talk to you like a different person because the incorporation isn't as seamless as in the waking world. And as for the "talking to yourself and whatever you think of in your head as a reply next you consider it words from your sub?", I've toyed with that IRL. It gets hard, though, because I can never tell what's really from my sub and what's really from me. And holding a conversation with yourself is just plain weird anyways. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence in your sanity.
I had an interesting dream this morning. It was definitely not lucid, but it was the closest I came to it. Just seems to me to fit the 'dream guide' role more than that one unknown guy. I suck at symbolism though, so you'll have to wait for Zin to come up with something (He really is all that and a bag of potato chips) And the Guitar Hero logo? Have to admit, that's pretty awesome. I mean, not the whole nightmare thing, but just the idea of equating Guitar Hero with nightmares... It's fun to see what people's subs come up with. ^YAY ANSWER SPAM
Wow, I hate being busy. :frown: I miss this thread. But I see its pretty active. :buddy:
-snip- [editline]12:30AM[/editline] Im considering a -snip- thats pretty personal [editline]12:36AM[/editline] yup, snipped.
I slept, collectively, about 12 hours today. I kept waking up every few hours, stayed awake to remember my dream(s), but ended up going back to sleep. I know for a fact one of them was lucid, but I can't remember it at all for the life of me :saddowns:
*swivels flashlight around* Hello? Is anyone there? I don't think anyone made it after the forums crashed... Wait, I think I see someone! Hello, over here!! What's up? How's everyone been since the forums died for about two days? Anyways, my progress has been really good! I tried to do two MILD attempts (yesterday and the day before), but they both failed. However, I remembered 3 dreams from the first failed MILD and 6 total dreams from last night!! I kept waking up in the middle of the night after I slept, but I read that it happens a lot to beginners who have a lucid dream (kamikazemelon). So I have been lucid dreaming apparently, but I don't remember them or remember doing them. They weren't lucid, but they were awesome. I almost forgot about half of them because I was too tired to get up and write so I fell asleep again, but I got lucky. I need to work on my RC's, mantra, and dream signs. Dream recall I think is pretty good at the moment, but then again I just started, so I'll need some more work.
The new forum layout bugs the shit out of me. Anywho, my sub made me familiar with another part of my mind. It is this weird underbelly of my mind, she warned me that anything or anybody that I meet in there must NOT escape that specifc area, no matter how cute, how seductive, or how believing the person or creature is.

Or halo.
We should make a Sleep and Dreams group since Facepunch brought groups back.
Someone should make a group in the new FP [editline]05:42PM[/editline] great minds think alike. ...at exactly the same time??
-snip- newpunch is still slowpunch. Time to try out our new ZING ratings!
Is it effective to do multiple strategies at once to achieve lucid dreaming? Could you do RILD and MILD in concert with eachother and have them be more effective than either one alone?
Is it effective to do multiple strategies at once to achieve lucid dreaming? After I wake up from a MILD I try to do a DEILD. I get a lot of dreams this way! No lucid dreams yet, but I'm still a beginner. I know it's not what you're talking about, but maybe you can slip in a DEILD if you wake up early from a RILD/MILD session! Also, yo, Birdman101 (awesome show btw) should we let one of the veterans make it?
probably, zin might spew forth rage from his fingers across the internetz to thine copmutar monitor. Thanks to a post in the LMAO thread, I got to thinking. What would happen if somebody was deep asleep and you shined a very bright light straight into their eyes. Im assuming they would just wake up. But im wondering if it would wake them up suddenly or not.

Would you sound like God to them? Maybe you could alter everything around them in their dream if you did...
lol. I remember a few times, when I barely knew what REM was, I saw my asleep little brother with his eyes barely open, going into REM. I put my walkman on his head (back in the day) and started blaring Metallica. Good times :smug:

She began to stretch and rub her eyes so I put my head over her's and made the biggest, creepiest smile ever. When she opened her eyes, well, let's just say her reaction made the rest of the day awesome for me.
I'll make a group, once I figure out how to do it. [editline]02:24AM[/editline] http://www.facepunch.com/group.php?groupid=1751 Join that.
What is really annoying is that whenever I start going to sleep, I close my eyes and there are always these sort half thought related pseudo dreams that go on and that are sort of imposed over the general static, and I always think about them but then I prolong me being awake by doing that. :saddowns: Also, how long does (or should) it usually take to achieve a lucid dream if you are using both RILD and MILD (and maybe occasionally CILD)?
Good job Zin. I joined. -snip- I'm dumb [editline]09:51PM[/editline] agh so many acronyms. Ima make a cheat sheet
Recently I have remembered my dreams with scary accuracy. But the bad part is its only for a few seconds. The interesting this is that the dreams run a whole day. Normally my dreams only last minutes, this is the first time in my whole life Ive had such a long dream. In my last one me and a friend were driving all over the place all day, and there was a drill sergeant. I wish I could remember the whole thing. Im going to try MILD tonight to at least remember.
nice, doc. anyways...... anyone know of any particularly good reading for a RILD? 60% chance is pretty attractive. [editline]12:44AM[/editline] wait..... was it FULL METAL JACKET!?!?
So, I ran into a beautiful woman while exploring this..Underbelly. My subconcious dosen't enter room dues to it probably causing problems. So far it has been. 1. A large possibly not-human man in titanium chains. 2. A large dog that is about the size of a tank, purple skin, bright red slit-like eyes, and teeth as big as probably a shark. Seems to like me though. Then a interesting one, it is a beautiful blonde girl, as I entered the room. A piece of art flashed infront of my eyes, although it was a japan-animation style drawing, it compared it well. And threw reality into the mix, fixing the eyes and skin and stuff like that. As I entered I heard a piano music, but yet no piano in sight. As I got near her she finally noticed me, as she turned it showed that she wore a long laced dress of white and red, with a large rose in the middle that is probably a fake. She had a sword on her lap that seemed to have excellent craftsmanship, engraved with alot of interesting shapes. As she attempted to get up I heard the rustle of chains, noticing it was strapped to her wrists, she was only able to get up to her knee's at most. She let out a hand to try to get me to help her. I was compelled to, but as I was about to try, riza stormed in and pulled me away. This woman let off a small scowl at her, but not toward me, before she sat down again with now more of a slouch.
Makes sense. Fascinating that something like her could be a fear or something else important.
