Thanks for correcting me.
Well, it's just that I have a lot of experience with this sort of thing; I did a project on auditory hallucination and my dozen ear surgeries sorta validate my experience with those sorts of problems. It sucked like no tomorrow. Heck, my ears hurt just thinking about the infections I had. I mean, I just disagree with the scientific validity of your claims, phagocitic. I've met some damn smart people working off of improper assumptions. EDIT: OH WOW I thought that was sarcasm Well I feel like a dick
You rated yourself dumb, lol. Anyways, reading my journal, I noticed my last two lucids occurred on sundays. If it happens a third time, I'd be thrilled.
No worries. It's not sarcasm. Just being nice, silly :3:
And what do I hope to get out of college? Well, I'm taking Media, English Lit, Music and Graphics. Thought for a long time that 3D Animation was the way to go, but have ended up entering for some music Universities.
yeah, I took 3d programming last year and it sucked nuts. We had to use fucking Alice the whole time. I'm like: dude fuck alice teach us the ways of lua and gmod. Teacher's reaction: no. FML MY DAY SUCKED HARD CORE I CRASHED MY CAR (first time) AND I GOT PULLED OVER(first time) also, I mentally built a wall from reality, because we went back to Gitchi. Nothing happened, but the wall is gonna take three freakin days to tear down FFFUUUUUUUU. What really sucks is that me and some bros went to the mall getting phone numbers (I usually get one or two every time we go) and I couldnt connect to reality. On top of that, my subconscious body language was all like: NO I DONT WANNA. Crossed arms and open legs sitting position = protective body language. [editline]15th October 2010[/editline] phagocitic, I will continue rating you gaybows until you change that awful avatar.

You'll have to elaborate on what you mean by 'wall from reality' and 'Gitchi' and 'couldnt connect to reality'. And why 3 days? If you can't tell this is my confused face > ?(*~*)?
Right. While you guys talk about that, I want to see if this is a dream symbol or a random object I found in my dream. [img_thumb]http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/1925/artefact.png[/img_thumb]
Well, I dunno about the psychological aspects, but I can share some geometric aspects. You see, it tessellates, so if you copy-paste several pieces together it sort of makes an endless field of... stuff. It's actually pretty cool too, because all the lines hook up with other lines EXCEPT for the upper-left line. That just sorta stops there. I would assume this is a dream sign for the simple fact that if it wasn't somehow important, you wouldn't have bothered drawing it. Unfortunately all I see when I look at it is a Bullet Bill. Dang, where's Zin when you need him? However, I don't think I could. PS: This was based on that one conversation awhile back about the symbol that sort of represented the essence of childhood. I was like "Ah'm doin' this" but I gave up on color. Hence this. EDIT NUMERO DOS: Birdman, what do you mean a cockblock to reality? Do you mean that you're stuck in a semi-dreamlike state even while awake?
it seems like ownership or control. anyone else getting that feeling about this? ^ roxxor, the wall is like a safety barrier. a metaphorical cockblock to reality, if you will. 3 days- the time it takes for me to tear down said wall. gitchi is a haunted indian buiral ground near where i live. posted my stories from there 10 pages back or so. serious shit. connect to reality-effect of the aforementioned wall. [editline]16th October 2010[/editline] yes, also a bullet bill.
Wow, I have been trying longer than most of you to achieve a lucid dream. But I got nothing. I feel so left out. :saddowns: [editline]16th October 2010[/editline] Well im going to try Mild. Night all.
DOC, I've had two. one lasted a whole 3 seconds, and the other lasted about 30 seconds. [editline]16th October 2010[/editline] I have come into possession of some ancient source of entertainment. I beleive it used to be called a "book". I wonder if I can use this for RILD... [editline]16th October 2010[/editline] off to try RILD 60% sounds like a good chance. And I used to like to read. Ah, good times.
if i read about lucid dreams for an hour and then use mild, will there be a better chance of a lucid dream?

It's not like a message from your sub or anything, and if it was just a random thing, it wouldn't really be of significance. Still, it's hard to tell from just one dream. See what happens. If it comes up a lot, you'll have your answer. I'm guessing that'd be full of rust orange, dark yellow, and some light red/pink. maybe some blue. I don't know what you want me to do, though. Interpret your childhood through that picture or something?
Tried MILD Last night, I remember several dreams and then when I realised I was dreaming I got excited as shit and woke up 4 hours early :v:
Thought about starting a dream journal. Woke up in middle of night after dreaming and wrote some keywords on it so I can remember it better at morning. Then I woke up at morning and checked my writing. Incomprehensible shit. Almost. Took me 5 minutes to decipher what I had written because the handwriting was so horrible and it jumped from place to place and overlapped at parts. Middle-of-night sleepy writing in a dark room is hard. So it read: "Jackie Chan was a girl" "Grandmother was scared" "High fall" And then I remembered the dreams thanks to those. Jackie Chan had come to Finland, but he was actually a she. We were laughing at the discovery of her secret. And then my grandmother was really scared, she hated stuff like Jackie Chan movies and so. And then in another dream I was at a high minecraft-like tower that had a really deep fall in the middle, and there was a pool party at the top. Also saw a dream where a psycho was chasing me and a girl I knew, it was pretty intense. Eventually I beat him in hand to hand combat and killed him with the butt of a shotgun.
and that is why dream journals are nice. you play minecraft too? awesome.
I once saw a dream about minecraft too. I did beat the shit out of those pigs.
Woke up, and tried to remember all my dreams for my journal at that moment, my brother decides to spring out of bed, turn on his loud pc, start constantly reloading a loud plastic bb gun, and watch a couple of preview videos for skin on css - a game he never plays, all whilst coughing. I never got round to remembering my dreams He's done this pretty much every weekend, and when I'm almost doing WILD, he decides to have a coughing session. I wish I had my own room :frown:
Ok, I'm on my first step towards fully controlling my dreams, and meeting my true self. The Dream: It was only for around 20 seconds, but it was good. before I went to sleep, a friend on steam told me to hold a ranom item, as it may stimulate the brain, so I randomly picked up a baseball (Even though i'm english). (The dream itself)It seemed like I must of blacked out in a room, and while I stood up, I noticed I had a wooden bat and a pistol. I was wearing a red shirt, a bag, some shorts and a headset. I didn't think much of it so I decided to have a little run around, the room had a swing up door, I truned right, where I saw what used to be a farm of some sort. I quickly noticed I was at RED's control point on stage 2 of dustbowl (From the game Team Fortress 2), so I had a little run around. I can't remember much of the running around, but I remember hitting what must of been a spy around the face with my bat. And that was it. tl;dr: In a dream, I was this guy Is it normal to have a dream like this when you first start out?
I would normaly make a RONG joke here
So how about this for a night of dreaming. I spend all day at work, come home tired, go to sleep. Then I dream about work. NO, not cool work like we were flying to get stuff done. Normal work. In the end of the dream, there wasnt a climactic battle or anything, my friend just lost the keys to my car. . . . . Wow. On another note: I started playing minecraft again.
Met my sub last night. I had a serious dreaming derp moment way before I got to that point. To make a long story short, "Man, this game is just like a dream, I can even breathe through my nose when I plug it! :v: " Anyway, I'm a little concerned that my sub is a crazy looking lady with brown hair named (Something) (Something) (Something) Elvira, and the first thing she does is set me up for a jump scare with another dream character. @_@ I woke up after said dream character laughed and became all buddy buddy with me. (After getting in a SECOND scare. :argh: ) This was near the end of a fairly long dream, though it was mainly long because I successfully did dream chaining. And this all happened in my first REM cycle. @_@ I had only been asleep for like... 2 hours. (I managed at least two DEILDs, my firsts ever.) But man was my dream recall fuzzy for the entirety of the dream.
Ok, tonight is my second night using MILD wish me luck
Hi. Im interested in lucid dreaming, but ive never had any luck. Please i need someone to help me. If you can and are willing to please add me on steam.
and that is why dream journals are nice. you play minecraft too? awesome.
Who doesn't play Minecraft? Anyway, is it a good idea to transfer my dream journal from a notepad document on my laptop to an actual, real-world journal? And I also thought of keeping both the notepad document and the real-world journal, and having the notepad document on a flashdrive. Then I would have the flashdrive hang from my neck and every time I notice it I would do a reality check. I figure it would be sentimental, having my dreams always with me, or I'm just an idiot. Whichever. [editline]16th October 2010[/editline]
Hi. Im interested in lucid dreaming, but ive never had any luck. Please i need someone to help me. [editline]16th October 2010[/editline] And what is DEILD? Its not in the LP, or rather, I didn't see it.
And what is DEILD? Its not in the LP, or rather, I didn't see it.
Dream Exit Induced Lucid Dream. Basically where you hop right back into a dream right after you wake up. This can either be something that gets you up during a REM cycle, or just waking up from a lucid dream. (Usually to extend it.) Theoretically, I'd guess it's a form of WILD.
Does it take weeks to get your first, or does it take weeks to stay in one long enough to do anything?
You see this and I'm asking a question about it and you go "You play minecraft too?" Not as good as I thought.
First of all, fuck you. Secondly, this was my answer to your question. Read better.
That MIGHT be a dream sign. I don't really know. It's not like a message from your sub or anything, and if it was just a random thing, it wouldn't really be of significance. Still, it's hard to tell from just one dream. See what happens. If it comes up a lot, you'll have your answer.
I can't really give a better answer than that. Usually dream signs aren't that complex, but there must be a reason THAT stood out. The geometric qualities suggest it's a dream sign, but the upper left bugs the hell out of me. Everything else tessellates perfectly. And you didn't give me great information, either. Was it small? Could it fit in your hand? Was it metal and tube-shaped? Was the red part glowing, or was it dull and scratched up? Was it just lying on the ground? Were you in the middle of a post-apocalyptic dream? Better information yields better answers.
Does it take weeks to get your first, or does it take weeks to stay in one long enough to do anything?
I had my first lucid 5 days after taking interest. (If this was a commercial there would be a disclaimer on the bottom saying "Results not typical") As for length, I find time is a hard thing to measure within' a dream, but my first lucid in total was about 5 minutes... Seemed a lot longer at the time though. The thing that makes your first few lucids so short is the excitement of becoming lucid and realizing you're dreaming. Also, because my first lucid literally ambushed me (I wasn't expecting anything for at least a couple weeks.) the techniques I used to keep things from collapsing didn't work too well, as I had only skimmed dream stabilization techniques. (In fact, I dream spun myself right outta lucidity.) I was pretty lucky I got a second chance to become lucid after spinning. So read ahead, because you never know when you'll straight up DILD, or your MILD works, and it's best to be prepared so it isn't cut short.

[editline]16th October 2010[/editline] And what is DEILD? Its not in the LP, or rather, I didn't see it.
I resisted for a while, but caving in and buying it was my best decision ever. I always have and always will advocate real journals instead of hard drive journals. It's easier to wake up in a stupor and scribble stuff down than to type up something. requires less energy and brain power and you can do it while laying down. I'd say it's not necessarily required to transfer what you already have, but i certainly suggest starting to write down stuff in a real journal. Sometimes just LOOKING at what you've written down can trigger memories of dreams. DEILD is a way of chaining lucid dreams. Once you exit one LD, you can re-WILD and then LD again. It's hard as fuck, but it's awesome if you can do it right. [editline]16th October 2010[/editline]
Does it take weeks to get your first, or does it take weeks to stay in one long enough to do anything?
Depends. Some people do them extremely quickly after they start trying, some people take a long time. Took me a month to do my first one and two months to stay in one for a long enough time to be significant. At this point, I LD an entirely different way than everyone else I've ever talked to, but I'm just unique and unusual.
Well, how long do you think I'll have the ability to perfect my dreams (I started manually Lucid dreaming yesterday, and I sometimes have them automatically some random days)
Months to years.
Also, What exactly is sleep paralysis?
