I hope you wouldnt mind explaining this technique to us?
even vaguely?
This has to be the 8th time this week I've considered suicide. Of course, I don't think I ever would, but the thought is always lingering in the back of my mind. So much stress, I think it's time to get into meditation, but in this house I'm not sure if I can.
Is it possible for your sub to hold off a lucid dream from you so you get something done that you yourself know that you have to do?
...Allow me to rephrase that, and in the example that I'm in.
I am an extreme procrastinator. I put off everything I don't want to to until the last minute, and even then I don't bother doing things. In this example, I've got shit-tons of homework backed up that I need to get all done by Thursday or I might fail (just a side note, I'm a Junior in high school, that being 11th grade). Now, I know I have to get all this done by Thursday, and I know its a lot, but I still don't feel like getting around to it. Now here is my question, knowing that I have all this work to do within a very short time, is it possible my sub is pretty much saying, "You procrastinate on your work, I'll procrastinate on giving you a lucid dream"?
My idea of this is backed up by the fact that a few days ago, I ended up forcing myself to do some of the work, and that night I had a very short lucid dream (nothing was really accomplished, all that happened was me realizing it was a dream, walking a few steps down a street, then imagining a belt in my hands since my pants were falling off). Of course, since then I haven't done any more of the work, and have had not had any dreams, and not only that, my dream recall is horrific.
Long story short, is it possible my sub is holding off on my dreams because I'm holding off on my work?
almost a decade. jesus.
I sleep on my stomach most of the time. it doesn't really change SP, it's still obnoxious.
Daym. I've only been into lucid dreaming since early 2005.. that would make it almost 6 years now.
Anybody else ever had any time travel dreams? It's fun lol
Yeah, I did. I've had several.
For example, in one I visited myself several decades in the future. I was like 70-80 years old and lived in a small house. It was winter and snowing, and I can't remember much else other than that the car I used to drive to the house with was pretty futuristic.
And in another, I went hundreds of years in the future where mankind lived underground after a devastating nuclear war. Shit happened, and I managed to escape to the surface. I opened the hatch and everything was in ruins. The sky was clear and starry, but wherever I looked I could only see ruins, dirt, dust and whatever. It was night.
I had about an hour long nap
The sun was going to be closer to earth than ever before. The moon would be behind the sun, IE Earth-Sun-Moon. We know that it's coming, and that all electricity would be down as civilization falls. We plan to save ourselves by riding it out, waiting until the sun goes back. I remember sitting in damp, dark cave with people working quietly around me. I'm typing an entry into my netbook, and I glance down to check the battery. I type a bit more and stand up.
I'm outside now, in the middle of an abandoned street. It's not destroyed or anything, just empty. Houses are on one side, sitting behind fences and trees like they always seem to do. Behind my group, on the other side of the street is mountains. The street continues on, very hilly. We're talking with a group who is approaching the sun problem another way. They're living in abandoned houses. The sun is so close that it takes up most of our view. However, we orbit the same. The moon appears behind the sun, larger than it, like a thick stroke around a circle. We're regarding how strange it is with this other group.
I'm at a fine restaurant built into a cliff. It has multiple floors that extend over water. It's goes from the top of the cliff to about 3 floors down, still nowhere near the water. It's a black scaffolding style deck, which can hold about 7-8 tables per floor, plus small bars. The building goes into the cliff, meaning it would have to be fairly hollowed out. However, it all seemed to blend naturally from what I could see. I'm working for them as a waiter, but I feel like I was only there because of the need to tell the customers about the sun. I converse about the strangeness of the sun with a man waiting on his food. As I see how close the sun is (about twice the apparent size of it's real world size), I notice that hamster tubing goes all around the building, and up the spiral staircase. This is very curious to me as There's no reason for it to be there. “Yes, it's very strange.” Said the man.
I'm back near the homes that the other group is living in. My group sees a trampoline on the side of the road, partly on a hill and partly on flat land. The others were going to use this for salvage. I remember jumping on it and destroying it. We got rid of it, and were about to leave as the others came up to us, ready to kill that we were trying to inhibit them from succeeding.
// I guess tribal warfare of some kind was coming into mind as the scene is post apocalyptic. The sun was always a deep red colour like you seen in photos online and never painful to look at, never too hot to bear.
I haven't read over this so if anything is wonky do tell. By the way, I'm making simple 3d models of my dream environments if they're lucid enough.
You should tell us how the future is omg

Dude, I wish I could. I don't know how it works, I just have the ability to write coherently. Like I just start writing and writing, and it's like memories I forgot I had or thoughts I don't remember thinking just flow onto the page. It's like amnesia purge or something. Works with drawings, too. No fucking idea why, and I'm the only person I know that does it.

Better solution is to just do your work.

I used to contemplate suicide all the time. Then I went to public school. Social interaction is a great way to feel better about yourself.
Here, take a <3

But...Minecraft, she beckons to me. I cannot resist.
Not to mention Fallout: New Vegas comes out tomorrow.
Had a dream last night where my friend who I haven't seen in a long time handed me a piece of paper crushed into a ball. When I tried to open it, this sound that sounded like ten thousand bells ringing filled my ears. God that was horrible.
Oh dear god. I never ever want an SP. EVER. I think I had one though. They might have been hallucinations though. Here are the events in numeric order.
1. (situation): I'm really fucking thirsty. It's a drought.
So I wake up. My vision is hella fuzzy. My mom is standing at the door. I'm ungodly thirsty. I ask her for water in a raspy voice. She closes the door and leaves. I wake up and have a juice box. Goddamn delicious juicebox that was.
2.(situation):I'm young.
I wake up, vision is fuzzy. A dancing banana cartoon man is floating around my peripheral vision. I reach my hand out to swat it away. Eventually it splats. I dont know what happens next.
Oops. I meant if they're vivid enough. I've got a blockout of one dream in the UDK. It looks horrible though so don't expect pictures. I plan to make the restaurant.

You, sir, are preaching to the goddamn choir. I have three midterms to study for, but instead spent today building the Mines of Moria.

Well yeah, I'd say it's possible. After all, that's what it's doing to me. Like, exactly the same thing. For real.

Wait, why would somebody give you an informative rating for that?
It's like the complete opposite. EDIT: DERP missed the button... only thing that makes sense
So does everyone here have seasonal affective disorder or what? People up here are seeming pretty dismal (admittedly myself included). And as for suicide, I can't even handle grabbing a knife, let alone cutting myself with it. And choking myself on cords would be just as painful and less effective...
I mean, I don't get in those moods much, but really the main thing that works for me is to let someone know I need a break from sanity, and go seclude myself somewhere. Somewhere where nobody will show up and cuss me out. Of course, this only works if people don't freak out as soon as you return.
Yeah, I'm really glad the people I know are understanding enough to just take it easy regarding work. All "You do know you'll have to do some stuff, right?" "Yeah..." "Alright, let me know when you're ready."
I sure as heck know people who have it worse, even if that doesn't make me feel better. It just gives me someone to talk to, y'know?
So yeah, I get kinda ranty sometimes... [/rant]
EDIT:
Not to mention Fallout: New Vegas comes out tomorrow.
Wait WHAT ROCK HAVE I BEEN LIVING UNDER OMG
Before I begin, I just want to say that I love this thread. It is brilliant just to have the chance to read all of these experiences that everyone here is having.
Now, quick question; How can I tell when I am close to entering SP? I am attempting to use the WILD method to enter a lucid dream (which I have not successfully done yet, I might add) and I was just wondering how I could tell how far along I was in the process of achieving SP (and therefor getting closer to an LD)
Speaking of suicide, yesterday I considered getting in my car and plowing into an oncoming semi. Then I decided I liked my car too much. That is the only suicide thought I have had since 2 years ago.

COUNTER-TROLL TIEM

I raged. I lost... :saddowns:
It's hilarious. He's rated almost every thread on the front page of every subforum with dumbs. This is a dedicated troll, dear lord.
Maybe he's trying for a title?
"Box-Legionnaire" sounds fitting.

I have it because finals are coming up and school makes me feel like the smallest doll in a Russian stacking doll. Plus the weather fucking sucks and I wake up on some mornings and have delirious thoughts where I think to myself that my morning wood is mocking me because it decides to cheerily greet the day on days when I most certainly do not want to cheerily greet the day.
spiderface is a bot
anyways, im killing two birds with one stone. I need to read the great gatsby for english, and I want to do a successful RILD. I also need to work on my turrable dream recall.
But yeah, I remembered a lucid dream from a year or two ago. then I forgot it. eeeeeefffffffff.

OH NO!
THE OLD LUCID DREAMING THREAD HAS BEEN BUMPED!
Page king; Thread music:
I left for idaho for 4 days at my mothers.
As I was there, I spent some time familiarizing myself with that blond girl.
Her name was Ciel, as she stated before she SAID that she was another persons sub, but her mind was broken in ways and she wasn't able to remember. Every time she tried she got a splitting headache.
I asked her about how the sword helps her see things diffrently, and she extended the case it was in, as I grabbed the end of the case I felt the world stretch before suddenly the room became a large grassy castle-like backyard, with a fountain, and a gilded cage, which she was in. I could feel the wind and everything, it was crazy stuff. When I let go the room went back to normal, she stated that she wanted out really bad. But the problem was that part of her is completely out of her control, and takes over at the first SHOT of freedom.
I also appreantly got a big flashback boost of past things, Riza was atleast my second sub, my first was a large egyptian 4 armed sword thing. Im not sure what it was, but I got to see some previous fights with that old sub + whatever nightmare was bugging me. It also previously showed a old nightmare that almost convinced me to destory my old sub, however that was possible. But it of course didn't succeed.
Then she showed me some...other stuff. And after a while I awoke, she also showed me past places I had created when I was younger, including that one white platform with a nice bed in the middle of a ocean.
Looks like every sub seems to have it own story and such.
Mine is just happy to see me.
Same here. He used to always be like I'VE BEEN EXPECTING YOU and all cryptic and stuff, but he's pretty chill now. He is the Kazooie to my Banjo, basically.
This is a dream
Best mantra ever! First time using it and instantly went lucid a few seconds after the dream started.
This time, I did not try to summon my subbie, but summon someone who, in my dreams, usually greets me (which usually causes the dream to end), hoping it's the closing thing to being my sub. Instead, appears a minute later, so I ignored her and just did my own thing.
I downloaded some Binaural beats to my iPod, then kept repeating "I will be aware that I am dreaming" while listening to them. Is this the right way to do MILD? I've read most of these threads, and really want to try this out.
nada for last night
I was at a dance with ( Name Deleted ) we were slow dancing in an underwater chamber. I kissed her a few times. We also talked with a few of my random friends who were there.
That was my first dream, I had another dream which lasted like 5 seconds that I won't mention, then there's this:
I had a dream where I moved to Japan and I was selling popcorn for the BSA there. There was a dude who moved there from America, too. My cousin Lucas was his son or something. The dude was ex-gangster or something. He was 50'sish, white hair, looked like he was ageing.
I never got lucid in the dreams, I am just glad I recalled them. Yay for pre-sleep banannas!
