read the lp
rild: Rild stands for reading induced lucid dream. I bet you can't guess what we're going to do here. Yep, we're going to read. But what we're going to read about is lucid dreaming itself. The fact of the matter is you get a high 60% increase of chance to lucid dream when you read about lucid dreaming before you go to bed. It's true, just like i suggested in the wbtb method, this is a lot easier and doesn't interupt your sleep cycle. It's pretty simple really, just read some lucid dreams you find interesting, the op, this post, it doesn't matter. Just something related to lucid dreaming. Chances are you'll dream about lucid dreaming and become lucid, in a way of putting it.
That's what I guessed it would be. That sounds like a terrible idea, tbqh. But hey, if it works.
had a random dream last-night. non lucid. read it anyway

October 21st - 22nd 2010
this dream started with me in my bed, when my little brother walked into my room and said "LOOK AT THIS" i couldnt see what it was. i got up and put my dressing gown on. as i was walking down the stairs my dad said the same thing as my brother. when i got downstairs i saw a wrapped present in-front of the TV. i opned it and found a pair of jeans and a game. i put it into the wii? and began playing. it was a driving game. i woke up a while later
what does it mean!?
Today i had a really really really realistic false awakening.
Dammit, wish i did reality checks.

also, zin, RILD worked for me!
You know how we only use like 15% of our brain(google for real %), what if the other parts of our brain are being used, just sending signals too weak to be detected. Those other parts could be the subconsious

the 15% is a myth and isn't true
Another question... When you become lucid does the dream become any clearer? Because even if I remember a dream with lots of detail, it is usually very foggy when I wake up in the morning. When I become lucid will this disappear, at least a little bit? It would be nice to remember a lucid dream as more than just a foggy experience.
Anybody know the answer? And also, last night I had a very cool experience, but no Lucid Dream... I wanted to try FILD because it seems like if successful it's almost a foolproof way to get into an LD. So I woke up and felt very groggy. I layed my head back down and started moving my fingers very slowly. About 30 seconds to a minute later I felt this tingly rush all over my body. My eyes started twitching very fast and I felt really weird. I knew what was happening and I tried not to get excited and stay calm. I tried to keep moving my fingers after I'm quite sure I went into SP, but I either fell asleep or just gave up after 5 minutes; I can't remember which. Oh well, it was a very cool experience and now I know that FILD will probably work for me.
I keep a dream journal, but it doesn't seem to be improving my dream recall. No matter what, I cannot seem to remember dreams unless they're ones from after I wake up and then go back to sleep, and a convenient chance for that is few and far between. I could've sworn I didn't need this to remember dreams until some time this year.

It all comes in time, and how devoted you are to remembering your dreams. How long have you been keeping a dream journal? Try to keep a positive attitude about it. Say things like, "I will remember my dreams tonight" before you go to bed. Tell yourself that you can get better at it. If you are focused on it it is much more likely to happen. Time might also be the key. Maybe you just haven't been working at it long enough.
Got into SP twice last night, heard a scream on the second (creepy SP). But didn't get into a lucid unfortunately. It's a strange feeling when you try to move but can't.
It's a strange feeling when you try to move but can't.
Tell me about it. The thing that's weird is whenever I get into SP, nothing creepy ever happens. I've never felt like something is sitting on me or see things moving around . I just can't move, and I know that I can't move. Sometimes I'm so aware of what's happening when I can't move that I don't get scared, I just get frustrated.
HOLY FUCK
hour long dream or something goddamn
last part was lucid :) However, I only had a few minutes to be lucid (I was told the dream would end). After becoming lucid it got all muddy, but I couldn't remember that I could fix that. I finally remembered and did the sunglasses thing 3 times. I woke up before I could get my sub. I was kind of focused on using catching a bunny. It was trying to change into something (it kept getting pissed because I caught it) but the "game" that was going on prevented it from doing so. I wanted to know what it was.
In other news a baby chick got picked up and almost eaten by a dinosaur :O
By the way, I woke up at 4:40 as I was entering my deepest sleep. I had set my alarm for WILD for 5:25. My internal clock was perfectly on time.
I'm so excited hearing all of these FILD success stories, because that's what I'm going to spend this weekend doing. I haven't gotten an LD out of it yet, but I did get a little sneak preview of what FILD feels like, so I can be prepared for it when I try it tonight.
I was gonna try waking up to do WILD or FILD last night, but absolutely NOTHING can wake me up in the middle of the night. Thunderstorms, NOPE, alarms, NOPE, NOTHING.

Try the water trick. Get a full glass of water and sit it next to you when you go to bed. As you feel yourself getting tired, take a big sip of water (leave some for later, though). You should fall asleep a little while after taking the sip if you chose the right time to do it. You should wake up sometime in your REM sleep and be very thirsty. Take another sip of water if you want. If this doesn't work, try it a couple nights in a row. Soon enough your internal alarm will do this without water.
that sounds good. ill try it
I had two dreams last night, both were emotionally terrifying.
I don't remember the scenario for the first one, but one of my female friends just laid down like on the grass or whatever and she was like "hey, this is pretty comfortable" and I was like "oh really" and so then I did it and then we just had a conversation or whatever and out of nowhere she sits up, tells me to sit up, and then awkwardly kisses me. Hard. And then looked at me expectantly. I was like "uh" and it's awkward because I do like her but I didn't expect that to happen and then she was like "meet me at my apartment in 15 minutes, we need to go to disneyland" and so then I did but it was more like an hour so when I got there both her and her roommate like threw massive fits that I was so late and never can do anything right and blah blah blah and it was painful and stuff.
the second one was i was drinking a glass of milk and right when i got to the bottom, i swallowed something solid and lumpy.
both were terrifying.
the thing with lucid techniques is that "trying" it means using it for 1-2 weeks instead of one night as practising lucid dreaming is long term stuff.
I know this, and that is what I meant.
I think the best way to do DILDs or or spontaneous WILDs(suddenly realize your falling asleep) is just listen to some subliminal mp3s all day while just thinking about "am I dreaming" every once in a while. If you try too hard then they usually go away. but if you don't try enough then you won't set your intent to it and you won't get any lucids. You need to expect it to happen.
So far i'm getting lucids almost every night now using this technique.
Holy shit I had like the most badass dream ever, I think it was lucid because I became aware I was dreaming and then I just started doing my own thing, I ended up flying out of a train with a jetpack and a rocket launcher to catch a criminal.
:iia:
Yeah If you realize your dreaming its a lucid, doesn't matter what you do after that.
Whenever I succeed at MILD I always remember several dreams, but only in the last one do I become aware of that I'm dreaming :v:?

And then I wake up 4 hours early because of excitement
I'm having problems with stabilizing my dreams.
Since this thread popped up I've been following it intermittently but I keep having the same issue, WILD works best for me and does but I keep running into the same issue wherein I construct and enviroment but if I populate it with people, specifically people I'm living with every time I look at them at all I begin to fade otherwise I can walk around and do other things relatively easyily (Still trying to assuming complete control of my actions/ world actions)
Are their any good ways for anyone to completely stabilize and gain complete clarity once in the stage just after transition?

Don't fill the world with shit then. Keep it simple. Clarity is easy: do the sunglasses thing.

Noted I'l give that a go tonight, but what's the sunglasses thing?

I always rub my hands and look at them. Many people spin in order to stabilize, but I prefer rubbing my hands. Sunglasses for clarity.

Imagine dark sunglasses on your nose and take them off. Repeat if necessary. It tricks your brain into making everything brighter/clearer because the "sunglasses" have been taken off.
Ahh I see, right that makes sense. Gonna give that a go tonight and see how it works, been the main roadblock thus far to really getting the most out of Lucid Dreaming

Sorry, but I had to correct this. Actually, the whole percentage thing is an urban myth which is used and re-used through the media. A person actually uses 100% of their brains, but not all at the same time.
Edit:
Wow, didn't realise how late I was >.<
