I had an interesting experience with WILD last night. I got really far, I woke up at my alarm, layed back down and started counting up stairs. Eventually I went into SP, and started seeing hypnagogic images... I don't remember what they were of. A few seconds later I got this weird feeling. My ears felt like they were getting pounded really softly, like a rush of air through my ears. I lost it after that, and drifted into sleep. I need to concentrate more. The good thing is that I remembered my dream after I fell back to sleep.
Everyone gets different reactions to WILD.
I cant stay aware long enough to see what mine is :saddowns:
What's so bad about it?
It's TvTropes, a notorious time-suck.
I think metafors are very important in dreams
my terrible excuse for a bump ^
i had a dream that i was going to germany for whatever reason, so i got on a plane and bill from hank of the hill was the pilot. the bottom of the plane where your feet go (not the whole bottom) is gone from every seat. as we go, we see another plane. it is flying for a bit and then instantly flips and the tip of the plane is turned up, and then instantly flips back to its original position. sooo after that we are flying still and we go over a powerline (i dont know why we were so low) and since the bottoms of the plane was gone, bill's feet got cut off by the power lines. we crash, but it wasn't an actual crash, we just kinda landed there with no damage to anything. while we are waiting for an ambulance, some of the other passengers are playing with bill's severed leg. not trying to fix it or anything, just playing with it. then, the ambulance comes up and instantly his foot is back to normal. then, the next thing i know, we are in germany. i ask bill "what just happened? why are we in germany already?" he says something really complicated and long that i forgot after i ask. so, me and bill go to some weird temple thing with no roof that has a water slide type thing in it. we go to the top and theres some weird fireplace-like thing in the back that had no chimney. there was some kind of yellowish thing floating in there so i asked what it was. bill then again said some weird and long explanation that i forgot. (there was a ton of stuff that happens here but i forget everything.) at the end of my dream, bill goes up to the yellowish thing and pees in it (i think) and for some reason the whole world explodes, one country at a time.
you cant make this stuff up
also this wasn't a lucid dream or whatever
Failed FILD last night. Multiple times. Just used MILD. Got a lucid anyways :D
Ugh, you never really realise how changing your sleep pattern messes up your dreams until you do it. Since shifting to get up early for my train for a week-long music course, I haven't been able to remember anything but a few sparse fragments, and absolutely nothing last night, even though I was trying to MILD way more than my normal efforts. I even ate a PB sandwich. Blah. Very frustrating, considering my last lucid was so promising.
Great dream. Zombies everywhere and no weapons :S
What's the difference between Lucid Dreaming and Astral Projection? :o
So, for those of you who do WILD, how do you wake yourself up? I would set an alarm of some sort, but since we live in a small apartment, and I don't want to wake anybody up. How can I set an alarm that would wake only me up and not disturb anyone else?
Help...anyone? :saddowns:

Put a vibrating alarm in your pocket, for example if your phone has an alarm, set it to vibrate only and put it in your leg pocket.

Lol, why do I feel like I've been inadvertently trolling you lately?
Anyways, 2 nights ago I had a dream where I attempted WILD. Didn't work the way it should, but I did start hallucinating a video game. It reminded me of Touhou, even more so when it started playing Touhou music. Then this morning I had a Touhou song stuck in my head, but since I couldn't figure out what it was, I realized it was from a dream. It annoyed me all day, then I figured out it was "Border of Life". Only I think it was intended as "Border of Consciousness". Apparently I didn't get it, because I never went lucid. At least, from what tiny bit I remember.
In retrospect, the previous song was Yukari Yakumo's theme, notable because she controls borders.
Kinda sounding like a weaboo here, but it's just kind of cool that my sub has found a way to incorporate that sort of stuff into my dreams, especially after the talk of dreamed music videos and laying it on the line. I thought it'd be cool to do those things with Touhou, and lo and behold, I'm doin' it.
I was kind of expecting to get trolled, though.
Also, I was trying to figure out why I wouldn't get out of bed even with conscious and subconscious support. The answer was apparently that there is sort of a part of me obsessed both with sleep and lack thereof, which might explain why my sleep schedule is based on alternating between 3 hours of sleep per night and 12 hours per night. My sub has been relaying messages, and supposedly the one part's going to help get me to bed earlier tonight. I guess we'll just have to see if I can resist the lure of tvtropes. >:D
My sub kind of communicates with me be getting songs stuck in my head. Either the music makes me realise something, or the lyrics do. Usually the lyrics.
Don't mind me just lurking :allears:
Going for yet another WILD tonight. Since I've never had anything scary occur while I was in SP, and most of the time people do, I'm excited to see if anything scary happens during WILD. Excited and nervous :ohdear:
Speaking of which, what kind of scary stuff DOES happen during SP? All of my lucid dreams (all three of them) have occurred unintentionally. I woke up as normal after them.
Lucid just last night FTW. And this time, the search for my sub is over!
It started with a sunny and clear day on park on a plateau surrounded by a friendly town. I was by a van with a bunch of other people doing TF2 homework. "What are the scout's weapons?" was the homework. At first, my paper was blank. I looked away for a second suddenly, stuff all over my paper. Then I started to do a RC (nose pinch). It failed, but I was like "Eff this, it's a dream" and rubbed my hands. I ran off to side of the plateau and thought of flying. At first, I thought of jumping off the plateau to fly, but then I realized that doesn't work in my dreams, so I tried to something new. I pushed the air with my hands and suddenly, I was flying. For while, I had to direct myself by pushing the air and then flying became easy. I flew around the town. Then I flew down into some underground complex that went down 7 floors without stairs or lifts, only drops. It was all white and everything in it was closed. I flew back to the first floor. Suddenly, my sight blurred as though I just took off my glasses. Then I noticed a person in white down one of the paths washing his/her hands by a sink. I tried yelling "hey" at him/her. First time was like as though my voice completely died out, but it became a little louder. Then I noticed that my sight was fading away and I started rubbing my hands like crazy. By the time my sight was gone, I felt someone holding my arms, and I stopped rubbing my hands. "Is that you Oney (the name of my sub)". I can't remember much what she said, but I did hear a yes for my question.
Last night, I had a false awakening. I rarely have them, so it was strange as hell. I woke up just like normal, thought "hmm, why not do a reality check" and pinched my nose, breathed and.. I could breathe. I said out loud, "WHA-" and then woke up for real. But between my WHA- and waking up, I went into sleep paralysis for a short time, and saw a corpse on my bedroom floor + half of a man's head peeking from the side of my bed a few centimetres from my face. Sure got my adrenaline pumping.
Is it possible to do it while there is another person trying to do it in the room? I don't want to do it alone!
Lucid dreaming can be great for creativity:
I've been lucid dreaming for over a year and a half and have been writing music since I was 16. I wanted to share with everyone a song that came to me in a lucid dream...
I was in a dream and snapped into lucidity. I immediately realized how I could make use of this and sat myself at a piano and told myself that I was going to play a song I've never heard before. Amazingly in the dream I saw all of the piano keys and could hear all the notes I was hitting.
Indeed I played a song I never heard before.
I woke up right after and immediately recorded what I had just played in the dream. To my surprise the piano keys I was hitting in the dream matched up with the waking world. It was a song that after a few months of developing evolved into what I have now.
Extremely boring WILD attempt last night. Don't even think I got into SP. I got that ear rushing but my eyes jolted open. I gave up and went to bed because I had to get up early this morning.

I nearly pissed myself last night. When I said to you over steam chat that I was going to sleep in 10 minutes, and was reading the scary sleep paralysis experiences on dreamviews forums, the house's fuse blew and I lost all power. Such bad timing. And had to stumble to get my phone's light.
Wow. I need someone to analyze last night's dream. Coming soon, school.
By the way I read everyone's posts :)
As a side note, I remembered three of my dreams last night!
Wow, this was a terrible morning. I wake up to realize that I dreamed about this girl I really care for (that likes this douchebag, AND is moving away next fall) ALL NIGHT LONG. Only to wake up and realize it was all a dream. Worse than a nightmare man.
Is it a bad sign that I dreamed about being chased around my college AGAIN?
And that I also saw a horrible wound on my left knee that I could see straight down to my ankle from? (No bone in my left leg, but I could walk fine)
I'm considering WILD, but my mind is a fuckup, and I don't want to see anything scary. However, I always sleep on my side, facing the wall, with the duvet over my head. Would this mean I wouldn't hallucinate images, only sound?
