Hey guys, i got some questions: When using WILD, after you have woken up and remembered the dream, do you chill with your eyes open or closed? What does 'Semi Lucid' mean?
What does 'Semi Lucid' mean?
It means you aren't in total control of yourself, you still do things unintentionally like as though you weren't lucid.
1: It's a coincidence 2: You may have unconsciously known where it had fallen or it caught your eye and you didn't notice 3: Your internal clock tells you you're late I know people really want to believe that you can know things without seeing them and the like, and no offense, but it's not possible at all. Same goes for the whole energy thing. It undoubtedly exists in your dreams (not all the time but especially with nightmares), but in real life there is no such thing. You can pick up cues that you may not consciously notice that make you feel uneasy about something, but that water experiment from Jake's post has been debunked as pseudoscience and the man who performed it was never a scientist at all. Spirituality is internal, it only has to do with being at peace with yourself.
Never said I think I know shit at all, As you see I put all three down to mere coincidences and subconsciously noticing something. I just thought I'd ask as it's pretty cool how the brain helps you out in ways like this. In all honesty I don't believe in any of this spiritual stuff to begin with, I think all the stories about people talking to there subconscious are full of shit, But I'm open minded, I won't completely block it out, but for something so 'rare' it appears there are a lot of Facepunch users that coincidentally know how to achieve this. I'll probably be rated dumb a few times due to this being a 'Sleep & dreams' thread but it's just what I think, and like I said I'm not completely against it I'm yet to just be proven otherwise.
Lol, 2 reposts in one page. I may not speak scribble, but it gives me a feeling of fear, what the fear is, I don't know.
thats kinda what I thought, but I wanted a professional's opinion, ahem, ZIN.
Guys, I've had an idea bouncing around in my head for a couple of days, and I just can't shake it. There's something I REALLY want to try, but I don't know if it will work. It's worth a shot, though. So I was watching Inception today and I kind of thought about the whole idea behind an Architect and...well, in THEORY, it could absolutely work. Which led to more thinking, and then MORE thinking, and now I think I know what I'm going to start doing. I want (as a test), someone to develop a dream world for me to inhabit. I don't know how well this will work, but it could be interesting...
how about google sketchup? I build areas in there when Im bored. I had an idea about trying to have a lucid in my home area (when im good enough).
[img_thumb]http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/2442/explodarbikesymbol.jpg[/img_thumb]
Means you're into swordfish.

I was really saying it for others. As for the subconscious stuff, it's completely accurate. I don't want to bring up religion or anything, but I'm an absolute atheist, and wouldn't believe it unless it appears proven to be. I did a lot of research before I'd subscribe to lucid dreaming as more than enjoying an unconscious fantasy world. If you'd like to read up on some of Wikipedia, here's a few links that would be beneficial. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mind%27s_eye http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unconscious_communication To shorten it all down, your unconscious mind works hundreds of miliseconds faster than you, and uses many of the same neural pathways that your conscious mind does. It can influence your actions and emotions based on internal feelings you may not even know about. The mind's eye explains dreaming, and your subconscious can be a full blown entity in your dreams because it's a logical way for your mind to simplify what it's thinking. It helps if you don't think about your subconscious as a separate person (though given a personality it may seem to be) If you want to learn about cognitive psychology then here you go. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_psychology [editline]31st October 2010[/editline] birdman he's in college he's got work to do and scribbles mean nothing.
Hey guys, i got some questions: When using WILD, after you have woken up and remembered the dream, do you chill with your eyes open or closed?
no one answered first time
-snip- [editline]31st October 2010[/editline] Im an idiot.
Hey all. I've been attempting LD via WILD or nearly two months now, and I just can't pull it off. I have incredible difficulty shutting off my mind, and living next to a main road with four other people who go back and forth to the bog each night doesn't help. I've been trying MILD as well, but it never kicks in. The really aggravating part is that I remember fragments of a dream nearly every night. Can anyone offer any advice?
[img_thumb]http://i639.photobucket.com/albums/uu119/ryanwarguy/Vanitandistrictrough.jpg[/img_thumb] I call it the Vanitan district. It's basically midnight all the time there. The apartment has absolutely no light apart from moon light coming in from the windows and it is empty every corner of it. The buildings there are just for fun. The plaza has street lights and stores, each building is three stories tall. The stores are completely empty and are lit up white. But there is one restaurant thats like 3 stars and is chinese. I have no idea how tall the rooftop party is, but there is light there, as well as minecraft style rail tracks. The whole place is just dark, only lit up by moon light. As for people present. There are midgets that are stronger than me (I can only lift 6-8kg in one hand), but they aren't common, last I saw one was in the apartment. Old friends, which do not appear but merely communicate through phone. The plaza has indians, malaysians, only around said restaurant. There's also this indian man dressed in a white shirt and black trousers with a american accent. The mood is usually neutral in plaza, throw in one or two drunk wine-drinkers. On the rooftop, it's party hard. In the apartment, is just plain emptiness and a bit of negativity. Never the less, hardly anyone talks.
Holy fuck, dude. You explained that INSANELY well. I can see it completely clearly in my mind, except for some reason everything's black and white except the area around the restaurant.
No one answered my question from that other thread :saddowns: I haven't had a lucid dream ever since I met this girl a few months ago. I used to have 2 or 3 a week and I really enjoyed them. Any idea what's going on there?
so hey, for about 2 years now i've been trying to lucid dream. i tried a journal, i tried the whole sleep for a little, wake up, then sleep, and the like. i've yet to get one. what am i doing wrong?
I have just made a discoverey i dream in black and white? does it mean i am going to go blind? :smith:

For the dream journal, how long did you do it? Did it help your dream recall? If not, you probably didn't try it long enough. Also, if you did build up recall, did you ever look for consistent "dream signs" in your dreams? 2. How did you do WBTB(Wake Back To Bed)? Did you wake up long enough to turn off the alarm and go back to sleep? How long did you sleep before? In my experience, it works best if you wake up, start your day, and then go back to sleep after an hour or two. I used to not get any results with it either, but then once I got in college and had enough time for a nap after my first class, I started having more of them during these naps.
I see everything in an old Victorian style.
I saw it kinda grungey detroit-style. trash everywhere. graffiti. gunshots in the distance. [editline]31st October 2010[/editline] Oh wait. Thats california. :iceburn:
No one answered my question from that other thread :saddowns: I haven't had a lucid dream ever since I met this girl a few months ago. Anyways, I would figure it's that if you did LD, you'd dream of her, which your sub doesn't want. Maybe. Definitely a subconscious cock-block of some sort, just maybe not quite that literally.:D
I have just made a discoverey i dream in black and white? does it mean i am going to go blind? :smith:
Um, what? I'm just going to assume that that's some sort of urban myth or something. By which I mean definitely not. I would assume black & white means the same as in cinema; black & white is used to drain the wonder out of the world. Basically, black & white=crapsack world, is what I'm trying to say. Color definitely has a connection to emotion, so draining the color drains the emotion. Pretty much. In any case, unlikely to be happy dreams, as far as I know. What do you remember about what happened in your dreams? Cool conversation going on here. Unfortunately my only noteworthy dream last night was playing Dead Rising 2 at a friend's house. Not surprisingly, I had been playing Dead Rising 2 at said friend's house. *Witty comment* I just can't get over how he eats those pizzas... Oh, and my friend's mom came in and got mad that we were having a party, but that's just because she always tries to act like it doesn't bother her. It does, particularly yesterday. She probably didn't want to Halloween duties. Oh, but there's another thing now that I think about it.... my sub is still trying to be all mysterious, and secretive and stuff, which wouldn't be a problem except that it's paranoid about what I find out. Practically every LD I've had this week, I never remembered having. My sub says it happened, but it keeps making me forget for... some reason. I thought we had agreed to try a more open and intimate relationship, but even after setting up a dream where it told me some stuff, it made me forget it all again. Even my sub admits it's being paranoid. How do I convince it to try taking some small steps to fix this?
[img_thumb]http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/2442/explodarbikesymbol.jpg[/img_thumb] I read scribble, good for you!. To me it looks like rtrto≠
Gonna go see Rocky Horror in a theater. Midnight showing. I'm scared.
I can never remember my dreams. It makes me sad. :saddowns:
I just had a really fascinating dream. It felt like I was experiencing two different moments simultaneously. In the first moment, I was part of some sort of team of people looking for something vague and important. We were in what looked like ruins around an apartment complex, something like what you'd see in the Fallout DC wasteland. We were standing around this object, it looked something like an arrangement of six iron bars about 5 feet long, attached to a ring at the top, in a corkscrew-bend like configuration (exactly like those rotating barbershop poles). On the other end it looked like it was some sort of swivel cannon mount with a corresponding cylinder for the bars attached to the ring. The leader looking person was talking to another person, and I wasn't paying attention (though I did hear something like dimensional cannon) because I was examining the device. When I started to rotate the corkscrew part there was some sort of yellow light in the middle, but apparently the character me along with the other people either couldn't see it or didn't notice it, though the leader said something to the effect of "Ignore him, he just does things to antagonize me" while looking at me. What was strange about the light was it was the only thing in that dream I actually saw which looked like color. Much like the rest of my dreams everything else was just I guess shaded shapes which FELT like the color they were. In the other moment I was someone else, talking to the same team leader in a clearing. The only part of the conversation I actually remember was when her face started distorting (it looked like that effect in film reeled movies where the film starts melting while it's playing) and her jaw looked like it unhinged when she said "You're having this vision because you NEED me" only her voice was distorted and deep. Then whoever I was collapsed and dropped the framed papers he was carrying. The papers looked like they were a mix of English and some language I couldn't recognize. And then I woke up bewildered as why I wasn't screaming because that was pretty scary in retrospect. The cannon looked something like this [img_thumb]http://oi54.tinypic.com/m938qx.jpg[/img_thumb]
[img_thumb]http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/2442/explodarbikesymbol.jpg[/img_thumb] Calling Zin. ring ring. beeeeeeeeep. PICK UP DA FONE! What do you think this means!?
I finally get it. Something bad has happened recently to you and it has scarred(it maybe over exaggerated) you, and now you fear it.(this is only vague)
Holy fuck, dude. You explained that INSANELY well. I can see it completely clearly in my mind, except for some reason everything's black and white except the area around the restaurant.
Why thank you good sir. Can anyone give me a source of written lucid dreams (like a series similar to jake) other than dream view
right on the dot, Oblivion. I went back to the haunted indian burial site. I swear on my cat's grave I saw a car disappear. I do have one little bit of doubt though. This place is directly in the center of three clusters of radio towers. I have heard a little about radio waves and such messing with the brain. place is just messed up. EDIT: 500th post WWWOOOOOHOOOOOOOO
500 is nothing IMO
Fuck. False awakening, forgot to do a reality check and I tried a WILD, but woke up in transition stage. So basically I woke up in a lucid, and tried to go lucid, which made me wake up :v: yo dawg
My dream was creepy last night I saw a guy laid on the floor, bleeding i assume, when this starts: and then i woke up could it mean anything?
dreams don't "mean anything", they're just random shit from your brain and subconscious mind unless you're lucid at which point it's less random shit that you do consciously.
Ah
500 is nothing IMO
it is for me :frogdowns: My sub communicates with me through getting random songs stuck in my head. They usually mean something, but I dont get this: I used to really like this song still do. just thought id share a nice song with you chumps :3 [editline]1st November 2010[/editline] also the ghostbusters theme. THEY PLAYIN AT THE SAME TIME AAAAAAAHHHHHHH
I had a dream in Oblivious' world. It was...interesting.
"Remember. I'll shoot anything that moves, you keep running. Just keep fucking running until we get to the contact. You handle the rest." I woke up to that. I remember I was wearing some sort of weird cross between a Steampunk steamboat captain and something Edward would have worn in FMA. One of my hands wasn't there, in its place was something that looked like C3PO's hand instead. I gave myself a bubble pipe because I felt it fit. My sub was next to me. He (or she) took the form of Sniper Wolf, which i found odd. But whatever. I took a moment to survey my surroundings. We were in the apartment building. Corner office, top floor. The roof was decaying, and there was a visible layer of dust on just about every surface I could see. I pulled on my boots and started stretching. Satisfied, I asked, "Ready?" I looked back and she nodded. I cracked my knuckles, looked up, and punched a hole through the ceiling with my robot hand. We both jumped through. There were several midgets on the rooftop party area across the street. Everything was in a grungy sepia tone. "GO. NOW." I started running towards the party of midgets, and then noticed they had guns and bad attitudes. I imagined an ink grenade in my pocket, then threw it. They disappeared into black smoke. I jumped onto the party roof and started beating the fuck out of midgets. I heard bullets whizzing past my ears, but I knew it was my sub and not some scary midgets. After they were disposed, I focused across the street to the south, towards the Plaza. I knew he was there waiting for us. I whispered into my ear, "Good eye, sniper." Immediately she came back with "I shoot, you run." I imagined a smirk. I took a running leap and launched off the balcony. (Cut to third person view of me jumping across buildings with the moon behind me). I landed and fell through the plaza buildings, the force of my landing shattering the concrete below me. I fell unconscious. I awoke again to my sub shaking me awake and saying they were coming. I looked around and noticed my hand (not the working one, the robot one) was crushed by a giant piece of concrete. I was pissed for a minute, then realized I could do whatever I wanted. I pulled an evil dead and turned my arm into a chainsaw. The time for subtlety was over. I looked up. The ceiling's hole was three stories above me. I jumped, floor to floor, until I got to the roof. i looked over the edge and saw that mobs were approaching with torches and pitchforks and guns, still in near black and white. the flames were vivid red, however. I looked at my sub and she nodded. I revved my arm and swooped off the balcony onto the street below, like a super pissed batman. As I cut swathes through the mob with my fucking awesome arm, I could hear bullets raining from above. This lasted for a longer time than it should have, but for some reason I was impressed with the blood effects, which only got better and better as time went on. Once I was through, I looked ahead and saw the restaurant, in full color. At the front table stood several bodyguards wearing suits and sunglasses, and in the middle of them was an Indian man wearing a blue suit and a blindfold. He was the Informant we needed. "This is it. Don't stop until we have him, or you're gone." I nodded. I started running, trails of dust and concrete spewing behind my feet. His bodyguards stood, pulling fully automatic pistols out of their jackets. I saw the Informant smile. I heard in my ear, "FUCK, I can't see them." I did not smile. They all fired at once as time went into Matrix speed. I jumped over the first wave of bullets and started cutting through the rest of them as I went, never stopping, continually running. (Yeah, you read that right. I fucking cut my way through gunfire with my goddamn chainsaw arm. I love dreams.) I could see his smile gradually wilting as I continued my elaborate dance of freedom. My sub started taking them out, having found a suitable position. I approached the restaurant and cut down two of them as she took out the last one. The Indian looked scared. I grabbed him. "You, sir. Are coming with me. Now shut the fuck up and let's go." He looked at me (well not really, he was blindfolded, but you get my point). "Fuck you." Then I noticed the obnoxiously long knife in his hand. Unfortunately, I didn't think of putting some plate armor on, and the dream ended when I was stabbed in the chest several times by an angry blind Indian.
One thing I will say about the way I record dreams: they always end up in greater detail than most people's.
