So decided to post here because my friend keeps pestering me too (waits for the abuse from her..). Anyway, quick post about a dream I had the other night. I doubt I'll do a DJ (which, again, I keep getting pestered to do >_> ) but hey ho. Basically the dream was a few nights ago, so I'm sketchy on most of the details now. I remember I was being chased, and was with a couple of friends. The thing chasing us was something unknown, but we knew it was bad. Anyway, the friend who pestered me to come on this thread was there, and looked at me as we were crouched behind a low wall in some dark poorly-lit streeet. She looked at me and said something reassuring, and then I realised I was dreaming. She already knew this and was like "you know what to do." So I hopped over the fence and the thing was some sort of giant green glowing blob that looked a bit like a giant bacteria of some sort. So anyway, I hopped on over this wall, and I put my hand out like something from the matrix and pushed the air and made it fly back. Then I woke up, went and told my friend and girlfriend about it. I went to work, and then, this time, I woke up for real. See this is my problem, or at least, something that bothers me. Lately most of my dreams seem to have more than one "layer" to them (in the way that was explained in Inception). I rarely have a dream that is just a dream; more and more lately I'm having dreams-within-dreams, or three-layer dreams. Has anyone else had this/know why it happens/have anything to say on the subject at all?
So to do something like RILD all I have to do is to like read the [del]OP[/del] first post of this thread before sleeping?
Pretty much, But it might take some time
I finally get it. Something bad has happened recently to you and it has scarred(it maybe over exaggerated) you, and now you fear it.(this is only vague) Why thank you good sir. Can anyone give me a source of written lucid dreams (like a series similar to jake) other than dream view
Ld4all has a dream journal section, but I think you have to register to see it.
LD, again. I flew :downs: Dream started. I had created a video game community in my school (being the nerd I am). It was some sort of game where people had to jump from rock to rock and finally land on a large rock where they would have to mine for coal. The water was black and threatening looking, alligators leaping from it. It looked like Starcraft, how old it was, but it was virtual reality... I remember that much. One day I was walking home from school, that game in mind. A girl walked close behind, yapping with her friends, gossiping. I despised her, heard her speak of me behind my back. The anger didn't build up, it just stayed. It was manageable, I knew. I wouldn't stand up. Why would I? I'm just a little ant compared to her. She's a social titan. Crushed, I'd be, perhaps even physically. I continued to walk, coming up on an intersection. The road was fractured, a canal built on its side. The pond normally at the side of the intersection was now a large river, flowing beside the street, finally draining out into a sewer pipe (water was flowing towards me). At this point, I RC'd. Nose breathe. (Interestingly enough, this technique refuses to work when I'm in a nightmare.) It worked. I was definitely dreaming, I knew. No rush of surprise, I didn't care to stabilize. All I did was jump, do the breast stroke mid-air, and fly. It was exhilarating. The air rushed past my face, pushing back my hair, drying my eyes. For a moment, everything was perfect. Then, for some reason, stopped. I was now in a small cut-out part of the canal. The water was so shallow that none came into the cut-out area. The entrance to the water was sealed off by a chain-link fence. I stumbled over a dead cow's body. I wasn't phased. My principal appeared. "I'm sorry," he began, "for the inconvenience. You should get out as fast as possible." I could barely hear his voice over the girl's, but I didn't hesitate to take his advice. The task at hand looked easy at first, but the cows' bodies required massive effort to climb over. Finally, I got up. Stealing a final glance at the beauty of the waterfalls that fed the small river, I decided to be back at the school, and I was. I was in a long hallway, with windows on one side. I closed my eyes tightly, and told myself my subconscious would be behind me. I don't know whether the person behind me was my sub, but I was mortified anyways. He was one of my friends. He sat criss cross, wearing the dumbest smile I've ever seen. I didn't know how to respond. Dream ended. Flying was sweet, though.
I had a dream following this song really close, but instead of us being eaten by a whale I shot him dead and burned him.
Played beerpong tonight. Made eight cups in a row and won with a shot that bounced off a cupboard, the fridge, and a pan in the sink. I am a god.
I had a dream in Oblivious' world. It was...interesting. One thing I will say about the way I record dreams: they always end up in greater detail than most people's.
:smithicide: If only that happens when I go there.
I had four short dreams recently, so I guess I'll put them up here. (I've noticed my dream recall is getting a little better) Night 1 : I seemed to be in an underground parking garage with my mom, and some woman with black hair and a (I don't own fallout, I had played it for my second time at my friends house that day) Vault 106 jumpsuit from Fallout 3 was standing at the top of a ramp. She led us out to the surface, which was a very small island, only a few yards out from the mainland, though. There were 2 sections to the island, It was shaped kind of like an 8, with a narrow bridge connecting the two segments, like the bridge that connected it to the mainland. I soon realized I was dreaming, but didn't really do anything and forgot in about 2 seconds. I remember walking around doing pointless things for a few minutes, then my mom and I got in a convertible (apparently hers in the dream) and she told me she needed to get it repaired at a shop, so we went there, and she told me that the mechanics were planning to assassinate her. In a split second, my mom had a bullet through her head and was dead. I ran at the mechanic and the second before I got there I woke up. It wasn't really a nightmare, and I didn't feel that sad. Night 2, maybe the best of all : I was with a bunch of people at my school, on what seemed to be the same island from my previous dream, but at night. They were playing extreme (EXTREME) dodgeball or something that involved pegging balls at each other at 700 mph from the separate islands. I was flying around above them, which was awesome. (I don't know if I was lucid though. I might have been slightly aware through most of the dream) In my dreams, ever since I flew the first time with that girl Allison (old dream, few pages back) I've had superior flying skillz . The match-type thing was over, so I flew back to the mainland where my friend, Keith was standing there. He was in some type of virtual (I've never played Halo before) Halo video-game world, and he brought me into it. We messed around playing Halo (I guess) for a little, then noticed these two girls sitting on a bench. (They appear later) I didn't notice any significance in them. They weren't good looking, and they didn't pay attention to us. I turned around and my friend, Spenser was there. He always encourages me to skip classes in school (which I don't). Apparently, we were in school, and he led me to some winding train track thing, we got on a mini train, and starting going on the track. We arrived at his old elementary school, and we were caught there, so we ran back to the train and the two girls were sitting in it. We paid no attention to them, and we started driving back to where we came from. Next, somehow, we appeared in an interrogation room, where this guy was interrogating Spenser. As soon as it was my turn, I woke up. The beginning was fun, but the end got boring Night 3: I was on a show of Whose Line is it Anyway?,(an improv comedy show, for anyone who doesn't know) which starred me and kids at my school. I managed to improvise a song-thing about Slender Man and how I was pissed off that the Marble Hornets entries weren't coming sooner. The show was over, and Slender Man was standing outside. Me and my friend started flying (again) and we started this huge chase thing that involved blowing up random stuff. It was fun. Eventually, Slendy disappeared and I (for some reason) was trying to get the attention of my teacher in what seemed to be the huge ocean-side hotel that was there for my first semi-lucid dream with Allison. He wouldn't answer, and I woke up. That dream was cool . Night 4/last night : This dream followed the story of the Odyssey for some of the parts, which we had read sometime in school. It followed the story normally, but as soon as we reached our destination on a boat, we got on this Zeppelin (No idea why) and started flying to some weird mountain thing, we crashed our Zeppelin and got in another, fast one (which I flew again) and I woke up. There were some other insignificant details on board, which involved me and my best friend talking about random stuff. Sorry to bore you with this crap, but I felt like writing it down. It should help me with dream recall and lucid dreams Edit: HOLY SHIT! That's longer than I thought it would be!
So decided to post here because my friend keeps pestering me too (waits for the abuse from her..).
*abuse* That is all. Dream recollation is back up and running again now sleep schedule is back on track. Had a pretty epic Doctor Who based dream last night, will write up up when I can. I love it when dreams give me inspiration for my writing :)
Just so you guys know, this thread made me change my major. Biochem/Chem to Clinical Psychology. Long term goal: forensics psychologist.
why did you do that?
Just so you guys know, this thread made me change my major. Biochem/Chem to Clinical Psychology. Long term goal: forensics psychologist.
Woah, that's awesome, I hope that goes well for you.
why did you do that?
I majored in Biochemistry because at the time I sort of liked Chemistry and had some vague aspiration to be a doctor. I realize now that I like learning ABOUT chemistry, but I don't really...LIKE it. And fuck math, it can go die. So I decided to play to my strengths instead. I took a career assessment thing like my school told me to, and it judged a lot of things about me like personality, skills, values, etc. Basically, here's how that breaks down: - I fucking LOVE reading people. I love figuring out why people act the way they do or predicting how they WILL react. - I demand a position that will give me recognition. I want people to know who I am and know I am smart and know that I know things they do not know. - I work best one on one, not in a group. Face to face, I will get my job done, I guarantee it. - Also I like interpreting things like signs or patterns. (And I'm good at it). One of the suggestions was forensic psychology, which, after reading up on it and the courses it requires, seems like literally THE perfect job for me. It will be awesome. The job itself involves talking to criminals and determining motives and patterns, as well as talking to juries and other stuff I forgot. It sounds great.
fuck math, it can go die.
AMEN BROTHA glad to see some people are going somewhere with their lives. anyways, I have promised myself to get to sleep by 11 every night. 15 more minutes to procrastinate homework....
Last night I had a dream that took place in what appeared to be my backyard, but there was a random arrangement of dirt blocks from minecraft allover the place and three hot asian women chilling in the middle of the grass. I approached them. Suddenly I'm in a reverse rape orgy with them, shit's getting really hot and lava starts dropping from the sky. The world starts falling apart and everything after that is just nothing. I can't remember the rest. I need to lay off of the porn and minecraft.
Its good to see this thread so alive. Wish I could contribute. :frown:
This may be the first time Facepunch has ever POSITIVELY affected someone's academics.
This may be the first time Facepunch has ever POSITIVELY affected someone's academics.
Good luck catching up on psychology.
My sub is staging lucid dreams. They aren't really lucid. My thoughts aren't mine.
Yeah, I hate that
A month or two ago I destroyed my dream journal to try to prevent my lucid dreaming because it started becoming a routine thing and I started encountering my subconscious every fucking night. I don't want to go into detail but it was really fucking with my thinking during the day so yeah. Anyway, now whenever I sleep and don't lucid dream, I don't dream or even feel myself sleeping at all. Basically it's like falling asleep and then it feels like the next second I'm waking up. It makes me feel really unrested and blah, so I was wondering what I could do to make it so my "dreaming schedule" just goes back to normal before I ever started lucid dreaming.
God, I'm in such an awkward situation. The girl I like (who's also one of my best friends) just broke up with her long distance boyfriend of two years. So she's pretty upset. However, she's kind of had a crush on this other dude (also one of my good friends) who I THINK might like her as well. I was the first person she told about her issue, and she kind of just grabbed and clung to me for a while. Which was totally fine with me. Giggity. Anyway, so now I'm in an awkward situation. I keep trying to give her completely neutral advice while simultaneously hiding my own feelings and making sure neither she nor my other friend say or do anything stupid, given the current situation. I'm balancing a love triangle on my fingertips.
Well good luck Sounds tricky
I got my first Lucid Dream last night!! I won't go into great detail because I'm on my phone, but God it was exhilarating. So I woke up at I guess somewhere between 3 and 4 because I couldn't sleep. I thought to myself "hey I might as well try a WILD". I got into, as far as I remember, sleep paralysis, and then I lost it. The thing is, I lost it into one of the most vivid dreams I've ever had in my life. I had what I think I remember to be a false awakening. I felt like somebody jolted me out of sleep, but it turns out someone jolted me into a dream! I did a reality check while laying there in bed and... it felt like I was dreaming! Jesus Christ I got so excited I don't know how I stayed so calm... I guess my subconscious likes me. I got teleported into my school and now I knew I was dreaming. Of course I did reality checks every time something too good to be true happened. I also rubbed my hands together nd I was amazed at how clear the dream became. I was also amazed at how well I managed to keep control of my excitement. So I tried making a person appear but to no avail. I tried making fire with my hands like Orkel recommended, to no avail. I decided if I couldn't make people appear, I would go to them. I went into another classroom and the dream lost sudden clarity. I saw a really sexy girl so I grabbed her :3:... anyways, the dream became clear again and we didn't necessarily have sex, but I ended up getting very close to that. Of course if I ever get another lucid, I'm going to do something much more productive, but I wanted to keep the clarity of the dream. So I managed to keep the lucid going for about 5-10 more minutes, double checking that I was dreaming the whole entire time. I can't remember when but I lost control shortly after. I woke up and am sitting here now typing this up. I'm so glad to have had my first lucid, because I feel like it only gets easier from here.
FUCK I FORGOT TO VOTE TODAY goddammit
Meh, Ill never give a rip about voting. anyways, I had a pretty vivid dream that took up almost 1 1/2 pages. Havent had one like that in a long time.

Aww yea, had some lucid dream sex last night, fucking rocked.
What happened to that jailbait you went to disney with?
Why does that make me sound like such a terrible person? We still keep in touch. The guy she was after is now dating my sister, which is awkward. Other than that, nothing to report.
