Last time I checked, you didn't add "sv_" at the end of the command. Nor do you add "mode 1." I might be mistaken, I haven't played any Source games for quite a while, but I'm fairly certain you don't know what you're talking about.

topic change this is now post your oldest dream
topic change this is now post your oldest dream
When I was around 4-5 years old (around 1993-1994) I had a dream that I was in a cottage near a forest, with the cast from Winnie the Pooh, and it was christmas. With decorations and all. Then me and Winnie left the building, and started walking through a dark forest, he held my hand so I wasn't scared.
So yeah that's my oldest dream that I can remember.
that is bad ass. I would post mine but it's not on this computer and I cba to type. L8er m8er
topic change this is now post your oldest dream
I've had this recurring dream a couple times from when I was too young to have coherent dreams. Based on the way the dream worked it's probably from when I was less than two years old. It was a black background, like space, with white lines and dots spinning and forming shapes with literally no understandable reasoning behind it. I think it was a puzzle, though.
I had it again about two months ago. When it happened, I subconsciously thought "oh no, not this", which makes me think it was like tormenting me as a baby or something, like i could never figure it out. so i just toughed through it. I couldn't understand what was happening at all, so i just let it run its course. Eventually I suddenly felt a feeling like I was perfectly at ease, which I took to mean that I had somehow solved the nonsense puzzle. haven't had a dream like that since.
The keywords I typed into my dream journal last night:
"Betrayal"
"Protection"
"Uncle spinning with his car"
"Meeting"
"Porcelain dolls"
*too messy text to read*
*too messy text to read*
"S ball"
"Heta (the name of my grandmother's now dead dog)"
"My uncle wants to find a toy"
"A *too messy to read* present for my grandmother"
I remember the part with the spinning car. I was in it and he kept making it spin so I jumped out.
Also the part with the dog. I noticed the dog outside my grandmother's house and said "But he's dead, how can he be here" but I shrugged it off and petted it and it licked me. I was creeped out but I ignored the facts (I was so close to going lucid when I realized it should be dead, but failed). The rest of the keywords have me going "what".
Is it just me or do people dream better when they're sick?
I dreamt about crocodiles again. What is it with me.
I dont remember my first dream, but I remember my first (and worst) nightmare. I was anywhere from 4-7 years old.
I had a false awakening, and I started walking around my house. Nobody was there; I was alone. I hated loneliness. I walked into my parents room and the bed was made, everything was tidy, and they were gone. I walked into my little sisters room and it was a mess. Then, I heard a terribly distorted evil voice saying something like: SPIT! SPIT! SPIT! I didnt know what to do and started spitting. A lightning storm started, and I was scared as hell, so I went back to my room and hid under the covers until I fell asleep. I woke up IRL and everything was normal.
You guys should seriously all go over to some of the lucid dreaming forums. I mean really, what you guys are doing is unprecedented, on the other forums, anything about summoning your subconscious is vague and apparently hard to do. You guys have made friends with it and go on adventures/dates (I'm talking to you Jake) with them. You've gone past simply having fun and have started destroying your fears one by one and are going into the roots of your thinking. You seriously have a lot of experience and knowledge to share with people.
How come my questions always go unanswered in this thread?
Guess I'll just ask again.
I haven't had a lucid dream since this girl fucked me over.
Does it have something to do with stress?

Possibly, possibly not. With stuff like this, everything is interpretation and speculation. Just try not to focus on it so much, and free yourself up to dream normally by venting any emotion from it in some way or another, and things should get better soon.

I've tried that before. Problem is, some of the stuff I've done is kind of...well, most people don't take too kindly to it. I've been laughed off of a couple forums now.

I guess everyone is more capable of the subconscious thing here because people knew about it and were surrounded by stories of it when they began (assuming that they were introduced to LDing on this thread), so, ofc, they're more likely to incorporate this sort of thing into their dreams.
And Zin, yeah, I've heard of that happening before. Why don't they take so kindly to it? If people want lucidity in order to fly, create things, play god and whatnot, why is it so hard for people to believe that you can allow your subconscious to talk back?
I once had a dream were my house was fucked by a dinosaur and then everything blew up.
argh
i still cant get WILD to work, what should i do?

It's hard to explain. It's one of those things where everyone kind of draws a line. For example, things like astral projection and energy and stuff like that. I believe in lucid dreaming because I've experienced it and know firsthand that it works, and I have the testimonies and facts of other people to back me up. I have no reason to believe in astral projections because I've never done it, I've never heard of anyone that's done it, I have plausible evidence to suggest it doesn't happen, and it's against my general personal beliefs.
Some people believe only certain things can happen in lucid dreams and will laugh at you if you suggest more revolutionary things. It's like religion or politics.
On an unrelated note, if I'm on my friend's 360 and i recover my xbox live gamertag, will rock band songs and downloadable content pass over as well?
I have the messiest handwriting there is, scan it and I will decipher for you.
So do I. The problem isn't mainly in the handwriting though, it's that many words overlap eachother because I can't see where I'm writing in the middle of the night in a dark room. Imagine me, who has bad handwriting even when fully awake, writing in the middle of the night, completely groggy, and those words overlapping eachother.
I hate remember how a dream made you feel and all the emotions you got from it, but not remembering what the impulse of them were, or what the dream was about.
I just had this idea from last night's sleep.
I've found a flaw with MILD. You may say your mantra over and over again, first few times you mean it, the next will simply be forced repeats and then it becomes a chore.
So, I have this idea, which I call, IILD (imagination induced lucid dream). It's basically you envision whatever it is you want as you try to sleep, maybe a lucid dream. Keep envisioning it like a story and don't stop. Eventually, you'll go to sleep and your dream might be based on what you envisioned.
Anyone wanna give it a shot. I still have like 15 hours before I sleep again.
I started doing that over the course of the past few days. I didn't know anyone else had thought of it. First two times I remembered a dream that night (I'm still working on dream recall) although it wasn't the dream that I was "creating". Last night it didn't work but I'm gonna try again tonight.

But you can prove scientifically why lucid dreaming and talking to your subconscious is feasible. I would just go at them with evidence. If they can't back up their side of the argument (if one happens) then you've obviously won.

you guys should type your journals and print them. Much smarter.
I dont have a computer at my bedside.
My notebook is so much more convenient. Especially becuase Im not sharing my dreams with you guys :P

This is why Im afraid to go on dreamviews. They would probably laugh at me and think Im a troll.
any good MILD mantras you guys are willing to share?
