Not serious war.
Just for shits and giggles war.
This is one of the reasons I've started creating characters to inhabit my dreamworld. We can have a friendly matrix fight every once in awhile, and afterwards we're all good.
Anybody ever seen the movie dark City? (if no I really think you should)
Well in it they have certain powers where they can shift the fabric of things. i.e. move buildings around, create bridges and stuff. In ym last dream me, and two friends wer IN a game, running around. We all of a sudden found out we could shift the levels around. So as we were flying hundreds of feet intot he air and falling back down (like in a game where you get thrown into the air trying to land on a certain point) we would shift the world below us. Was pretty awesome. Until it came to one of my friends turn, we jumped up intot he air, and he couldnt shift right, so I had to pause hte game (while in the air) and fix the level below us. Was also pretty awesome.
What the christ....
I remember attempting FILD a lot of times last night but I cannot remember whether I was doing it awake or in a dream. Weird feeling.
Had like 7 SP moments last night, had the chance of trying different techniques.
-Bruteforcing myself to move out of my bed into the dream world, three tries. Used to work almost always months ago, but not anymore. All attempts resulted in me waking up for real.
-Simply relaxing, two times. See above.
-Trying to look out of my vision. Hard to describe, but basically keeping turning your real eyes to their limit until your dream eyes take over and "blorp" over the physical turn limit and it feels like your eyes turn 180 degrees towards your brain because it's not your real ones anymore. One try, second best success, almost got into lucid.
-FILD, finger movement, one time, although it was more like fondling breasts - movement. Best success, almost got into the lucid but woke up in transition.
Funny how I got so many chances after going to sleep two hours earlier than normal.
Oh and one MILD, which happened when I was watching the simpsons and noticed that Lisa's hair was down. "She never does that!" and I went semi-lucid before going back normal.
I had a dream about a new titanic being built and me and jack black were the capitans. My worst know fear was in it: DARK DEEP WATER.
the dream ended when we were standing on a different ship, watching the titanic sink.
Jack:Well, THAT was a defect.
Me: Yep.
Well. Um. Thank you for...sharing.
facepunch it gets me off to let anonymous people know that I came all over my leg in my sleep!
just checking in!
Last night I got close to wild, but once I realised my hypnagogic imagery was actually taking over, the shock woke me back up again. Wild is a very narrow path, man.
I used FILD, but like always, I fell asleep too early........ or at least I think so....... I can barely remember even trying FILD.
Is this good, bad, wth?
I am officially retarded. I was posting my long-ass LD from a month ago, and accidentally refreshed the page.
Goddammit I knew I should have typed it in Word first
I RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAEG

I absolutely hate when that happens, just make sure you copy your message every minute and you should be fine.

Narrow path.. I like that. It's quite true, too. You have to perfectly balance your mind and body in order to make it through the "path", so it is narrow and hard indeed.
Last night I had a dream I was in an epic battle against various legions of demons and dragons and stuff, eventually I was shot in the leg by some sort of needle projectile weapon and the beast stood over me and I said "make it quick" and then I got shot in the head. But I heard a click like when you hit escape in a game, and I zoomed out into the universe with a HUD and stuff. I could type something in and it'd let me do it, so I smoked weed with Carl Sagan and we discussed astronomy. Then I gave a hug to an elite from Halo and we cuddled under the blankets. (wot wot wot)
That was the good part, and I dunno why but it seems like I wake up for a bit and then go back to sleep, and normally I have horrible night terrors the second time. I had a dream that I was tied to a rock in a hellish place and forced to watch people get eaten and stuff in front of me, the chains holding me broke and wings and claws and stuff burst out from my fingers and stuff and then I sort of jumped to another scene where I was flying over an ocean and a giant blue thing pulled me under the water and I drowned.
Then I woke up all sweaty and yelling. :ohdear:
Quick, listen to this.

It's kind of hard to hug or kiss water. Good luck conquering that fear.

This is basically the same exact thing for everybody's try for WILD. You wouldn't type this sentence unless it was your first try, because after several tries to WILD, the hypnogogic imagery becomes routine.
[editline]9th November 2010[/editline]
Also, I've realized that my WILD experience is extremely short. I don't usually see hypnogogic imagery or hear voices. I usually go from Sleep Paralysis and REM directly into the vibration state. I feel the vibrations for maybe 5-6 seconds and then I either wake up in a dream or fall asleep into a dream where I instantly do a reality check. I want to try FILD and see if it differs at all.

Assuming you actually get to SP.
I'm trying tonight, but my sub doubts I'll be able to handle it.
Besides, doesn't your edit sorta say you aren't the best example of what you're saying?
Anyways, I'm going to post that LD no matter what,but...
... I just want to procrastinate a little longer.
PROCRASTINATION STRIKES AGAIN
Besides, doesn't your edit sorta say you aren't the best example of what you're saying?
I didn't say it happened to me, I've just seen craploads of people who post the same exact thing on this thread. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, I just want them to know that it's not that special.

EDIT: No, I wasn't talking about SP, I meant hypnagogic imagery, the stuff that actually forms your dreams. I was almost in the dream, realized I was entering, and then POOF! Awake.
I was close to a lucid dream (After 2 hours of MILD)
Then guess what?
I fell asleep without a lucid dream :frown:
Irony. How many hours you MILD is not the right way to measure how close you are. I can mild for say, 15 minutes and lucid right after.
Damn, no lucid for more than a week, beating my average of 1 per week :smith:
I think I tried FILD again last night. Either I fell asleep too early, or amnesia happened.
rats.
I just had my second lucid dream, lost my journal so posting here for myself too
It starts off with this large villa/complex, on the left is a dirt hill that leads to a large open desert on the other side (i know this from other dreams) the building is a light, clean grey with many windows and open glass rooms, the floor im stood on is large, unkept grass.
Above me is flak with the sound of air raid sirens, large palm tree's scatter the beach with infrantrymen clothed in american WW2 atire. All battle ready as they face the enemy that is due to emerge across the horizon from the sea.
i begin talking to one of the men, i don't remember any of the conversation but he follows me back from the sand to the grass and then keeps talking to me.
Then i have an itching in the back of my head, my mantra dug in. "this is a dream!" i poke my hand without looking and immediately feel the loss of contact then my heart begins beating stupendously fast again.
I rub my hands, take a deep breath and yell "IM DREAMING!" and everything stops spinning and everything becomes stable.
i conjurer a bench and sit down on it and begin to talk to this soldier, everything else has subsided, the beach is now warm and calm.
i begin really taking in my surroundings noticing everything the first thing i saw was red on the soldiers uniform, in my dreams colors are a little more subtle and a little more grey, or at least there they was. I reach down for a piece of food (i think it was a cherry, but err, Ive never actually eaten one.) and all i re member thinking was "this food doesn't taste fantastic"
All this is going on while me and him are talking about lucid dreaming, more specifically what i can and can't do. (i really wish i can recall this, fucking dream recall is loosing since i lost my journal, just found it now though! :unsmith:)
I eventually hear a noise which is my mobile getting a "Wake the hell up" text and i remember him saying time for you to wake up then, as i closed my eyes and thought to myself "wake up"
Feelin' good.
Hey wait, sonofabitch was that my sub?

Had to just draw it, sorry for the grainy cam, and its really not to scale atall, but its a rough look
Cherry in a bowl, his big metal helmet thing on the left, next to his right hand, building was larger than that and further off, also had a glass door opening behind the wall which wasnt visible from where i was, there was more palm tree's to the right behind me.
HOLY FUCK I ACTUALLY DID ITTTTT
OH MY GOD IM SO EXCITED
I remember being at las vegas, where i regularly visit, and being sad i would be going home (in my dream i felt Las Vegas was my real home), so im getting on the plane and im home.
I remember walking from my back porch into my house and as soon as i saw my uncle, a light was on in a room that is never on, SO I CHECKED IT. BAM. I'M DREAMING.
My face and body gets VERY hot, i grab something, I'm still hot (and it calms down as time goes on), i run outside, some dream character says to me "What's that?" its a red car which had an accident, all of a sudden i hear shooting in the distance, then a SHITLOAD of people start shooting at me, one dream character then another. (About 200 in estimate from movies, comic books and whatever try to stop me)
But they can't hit me, i don't need to dodge bullets. They just can't hit me. So more characters come, agent smith, some guy with a minigun (and they're really unloading on me, everyone is, tons of shells and bullets flying... it felt to me like there weren't any bullets at all, like they were firing blanks), so i SCREAM and FLY away, I'm SCREAMING to gain height (i can't seem to be able to gain height without it) and finally i scream at them to STOP. They all look at me and are very angry they have no power or control over me and decide to leave.
I find my family members, they're all laughing because they seem to find it entertaining i was able to lucid dream, I'm looking for my mother to tell her. I finally find her after struggling to do so.
She says "I'm leaving" and i say, ok, can i come with you?
She says fine, but I'm calling Aunt Sherry (my aunt), she flips open her cell and i open one eye in real life, i can't sink back into the dream. The dream is over, but it is the most glorious dream I've ever had.
Thank you facepunch.
What the hell I know sometimes electronics work in dreams but last night was pretty clever.
I was sitting outside a cafe by a large river with my mates and one of them had an iPad. I looked at it and he was loading up google maps when it said "Waiting for GPS" the next thing I know it shows our location (which is perfect) and the satellite view is all right as well.
Also dammit why is everyone else managing to LD and I still struggle after 6 months, I know I've got the rest of my life to do it but bloody hell.

Don't get too demoralized, this is only the beginning for me. It also isn't too late for you. Whenever you suspect something might be a dream, check it, even when something is odd to you in real life, check it, seriously, get into the habit.
I should also mention i sadly and regrettably didn't have a lot of time in my lucid dream, i was on the brink of waking up the entire time (face and body hot, sweating IRL, things became blurry, i GRABBED things) It was all very cool. Trust me though, the journey is worth it.
I've had dreams during this little journey which i wouldn't trade for a lucid, bet on it.
Once you "break through" it can be quite exciting, but, i still have a long, long way to go. We all do.

I've been reading my book, recording dreams and RCing pretty much everyday :v:
I might invest in a REM Dreamer :D
I wouldn't necessarily recommend an REM Dreamer. Surely all they do is wait until you ought to be in REM then give you a flashing-light-stimulus for your dreaming self to hopefully register, causing them to reality check and so dream. I would try home-methods of this first if I were you, for instance, setting a very quiet alarm on your phone or whatever to play a set song or something, so quietly it won't wake you, but you can hear it. Or, purchase a light timer and some small garden/fairy lights. Stick them in your room, then get the timer to put them on for 30 seconds in the middle of your night - the same would work with a lamp or whatever else you can think of.
REM Dreamers are expensive, and won't necessarily work, so keep it in mind :)
Im downloading some subliminal mp3's that pretty much just sneakily tell you your dreaming on loop. Ima use them as a crutch until I can do it without supplements and mp3's.

WWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAA!!!!!
CRY SOM MOAR!
Does anyone know if you can crack knuckles/joints in dreams?
I have a habit of cracking my knuckles and neck and I thought I might be able to turn those into RC's.
Had the weirdest dream two nights ago.
I had woken up (inside of the dream) and it was 4 in the morning. Now, there's this thing in my house that allows the people at the door to talk to the rest of the house via intercom. I had woken up because there were, believe it or not, salsa salesman at my door. I was thinking, OMG, WTF. I don't want any salsa. But I didn't answer, I just laid in my bed. After about 5 minutes of this, I heard the guy yell "BUY SOME FRIGGIN' SALSA!" and he busted down the door. I heard a lot of gunshots, and explosions. Then, some random guy from my school popped out of the floor of my bedroom, pulls out a 9mm from his pocket, and starts shooting at the salsa salesmen. He gets shot in the head by high-caliber rounds ( I could tell by the giant bloody/gory explosion) and falls down. It's right then when I jump out of my bed, grab the fallen guy's pistol, and hide in my closet. I then think to myself " Hey, this might be a dream. I better do a reality check" and I squeeze my nose and try to breathe in. It turns out I was in a dream, and it really felt like I was breathing normally. I guess I was so excited that I forgot to spin around, or do other anti waking up measures, that I woke up.
My first really lucid-like dream, it all felt so realistic. Questions, comments?

I guess the weirdest part of that dream for me is that you expected him to be selling salsa.
Get many door-to-door salsa salesmen?
Also these are the types of dreams i had before i had my first lucid ^ up there, where i would realize it is a dream but not realize the implications of that, or know what to do with myself. In an earlier post you can see i did this in a nightmare, where when i realized it "might" be a dream, the nightmare was so scary i contemplated killing myself to get out, instead of actually getting excited or having any fun, lol
