Yes, any(wealthy)body can run for Prime Minister...
I'm assuming the other parties work the same? Our system needs some serious reform, primarily to eliminate the vestiges of colonial rule where was centred on wealthy land-owners. Getting rid of or democratizing the Senate would be a great start, as it is now it's a dumping ground for party loyalists to pad their bank accounts and ensure support for bills.
its a bitch to apply for a work permit, the canadian governments website is terrible

Yep, it's whoever can get the most money wins, usually, and I hear that ElCan, or some other government agency, requires potential candidates for PM to pay a minimum of $10,000 to be eligible. Sa Tan (yes, that's legally his name, SaTan), the leader of the Rhino Party for a while, was suing over something like this in BC, claiming it was unconstitutional.

Fifty-thousand dollars just to remain a registered third party? Great way to keep the less powerful out of, well, power. Fuck you Chrétien, and whatever advisers convinced you to pass such a law.

She's got excellent taste.
And is hot.
According to my weather app its a nice sunny day with highs of 23 here in Vancouver.
Understandably its torrential rain.
Also today, Vancouver drivers have decided bus stops are fantastic places to park. Every bus stop has an empty car.
Why are we getting more snow
WHAT HAVE WE DONE TO OFFEND THE WINTER GODS

Yeah this was supposed to be my first fishing trip in Nova Scotia, but nope, snow.
13C on Wednesday though. Thats good!
Woo high of 14 on monday.
So Bell's cocked up installing my new Fibe, so I'm without new until Monday. Then they switch my phone number with someone else who lives in a different neighbourhood. Now I'm trying to study for a calc final I have on Monday by leeching off the Library's internet. I can't even do things outside, like get some practice in for my M test, because it's been freezing raining and cold out.
Either way, who's got a ticket for today's $55 million 649 draw?
Yay
Trudeau won Liberal Leadership.
I actually think he might win the next election
Goddammit Bell, come install my damn Fibe already, I've been relying on my shitty data plan all weekend because of your cock-up on Friday.
Still fucking snowing here and raining also. when the fuck is spring coming....
My dad bought a new house recently and we're going to move in a few months. As I was coming home last week, I saw the Bell FibreOP truck and some people installing stuff on the poles. Fuck.
So because Bell doesn't seem to comprehend the meaning of the term "communication" I'm not getting the Fibe that was supposed to be installed Friday, then today, installed until tomorrow.
I fail to understand why some city councillors won't support a downtown Casino in Toronto, there's going to be one in the GTA anyways, so any possible ill-effects will happen here anyways, but if the casino is in Vaughan or Mississauga instead of Toronto we'll lose out of any revenue and jobs. We'll get all the bad with none of the good if the city says no, because there's going to be one nearby anyways, we might as well benefit from it and use the revenue for, oh Iunno, subways or something useful like that.
You'll be missed Rita MacNeil. ;_;7
God her music was awful
In Toronto soon. Advice?

Cool. Thank you.
