So I left Toronto hopefully for good! Moved to Napanee, and I have to say it's 300 times better here already. The people are so friendly its incredible, and after being where I was it nearly brings tears to my eyes Anyone else live out here?

Walmart and big businesses by the 401, shitty run-down mall that's only saving grace is the NoFrills and the downtown section that lacks variety in it's stores? The same Napanee I left for Toronto?

The Mall isn't too bad its just not really a mall, and to be honest with all the new development out at the 401, there isn't a ton missing from town Got grandparents across from the Nap. Motel, and 18 acres of waterfront on the river road I'll hopefully be moving to soon enough. Oh I volunteer at Ark/Community living too, the people there are all awesome Town has free wifi, and its incredibly clean. Compared to every other town around here, it's doing pretty great

Found a few needles myself. I also hope you already have a job lined up / are able to work out of town because the highschool takes students from the Tri-Board School Area which means lots of possible expendable candidates for local employment. There used to be a fantastic Donair shop by the City Hall that closed down and moved because of bad stuff that went on with some customers (Moved to Belleville). Last I know, the Buy Sell and Trade shop around there is still open, which is a cool place to visit. If you move and stay for the summer, there's a hidden swimming spot across a train bridge. Gotta get to the church on the East end of town by the highway and walk across the train bridge (abandoned / not in use) and continue down a trail that leads into a water-filled quarry. Decent spot for swimming and general chilling out. The highschool kids like going there for the "National Skip Day". I guess it's also a decent place to have a house if you live on the west end with all the trees and cozy-looking residential area.
Goddamn, the loonie is basically equal to the dollarydoo right now.
What's the chance it's going to drop to 50 c?
I believe economists are seeing a bottom-out at around 58 or 59c, so i dont think we'll see 50c. Never know though in times like this.
Pretty high.
What's the chance it's going to drop to 50 c?
If it does, traveling to USA for anything is not gonna happen.
Goddamn, the loonie is basically equal to the dollarydoo right now.
i blame the alberta ndp and trudeau.
I blame the alberta ndp and trudeau.
Eeeeh well, remember. The vote for Trudeau was to get Harper out of office. NDP in Alberta on the other hand...
i blame the alberta ndp and trudeau.
How is it possible for him to be responsible for crashing the dollar when he has only been in power two months? Did he hit a big red button on his desk that says "Do not press!" or something?

Did he hit a big red button on his desk that says "Do not press!" or something?
Yes. Everyone knows the Prime Minister has an emergency "crash the economy" button on his desk, and Trudeau must have pressed it by accident after being stunned at the sight of his own flowing hair in the mirror.
Yes. Everyone knows the Prime Minister has an emergency "crash the economy" button on his desk, and Trudeau must have pressed it by accident after being stunned at the sight of his own flowing hair in the mirror.
I choose to believe he slammed down both hands on the table while transfixed in his own reflection. WHY TRUDEAU, THAT IS A MAGNIFICENT MANE YOU HAVE THERE. I CAN'T.. wait, what did I hit over here?
i blame the alberta ndp and trudeau.
Trudeau isn't what caused this at all. He hasn't even been in office for long enough to have this happen because of him. The big reason the dollar is failing so hard is because harper put most of the eggs in the oil basket. Oil has now dropped massively which if the only thing keeping the dollar strong is now really cheap you lose value. As more energy efficient and less oil based products come out it will drop more. It's kinda a really bad idea to invest in something that technology will replace with something cheaper and more efficient. Though all in all we're all fucked as the people of canada until the dollar goes back up so let's enjoy this horrible shit together. On the plus side once weed goes legal it should help get the dollar back up, as long as they don't make it horribly overpriced. Which I'm not sure if they're willing to match or beat the $10/G in BC. If they charge anymore than that though people will still just get it off the dealer and get all the legal benefits at a cheaper price, which ironically would help dealers out.
Blaming Trudeau is ridiculous, the dollar has been dropping for over a year now while Harper was Prime Minister.
If it does, traveling to USA for anything is not gonna happen.
But, but. I have plane tickets for Vegas already bought. Going to the Star Trek Convention
But, but. I have plane tickets for Vegas already bought. Going to the Star Trek Convention
Well if it's already been bought, it's fine. Just don't exchange for USD when it's 50 cents to the dollar
I cancelled my trip plans - 90 c is on thing, 68 is another.
I was hoping to take a trip to Japan this summer, but if the loonie's at 58c by then I won't even be able to afford to go to Timmins, let alone Tokyo.
I was thinking of doing another USA trip in the summer. It was like $1.30 CAD per USD when I went in 2015. I might as well not plan anything at this point.
I am considering moving to the US for a while but thats yet to be seen
Hey. Settle a bet? Canadian weed is better than american weed, yes?
I was hoping to take a trip to Japan this summer, but if the loonie's at 58c by then I won't even be able to afford to go to Timmins, let alone Tokyo.
Has it really hit the cost of travel that much? [editline]sdafsdfad[/editline] Wow, it's like $500 more than last year.
Well my tickets are all ready for Vegas, i just won't buy anything except for food and the hotel cost :v:
I fucking loved the deal I got last year. Free wireless and breakfast. I can't find that good of a deal this time around.
I was hoping to take a trip to Japan this summer, but if the loonie's at 58c by then I won't even be able to afford to go to Timmins, let alone Tokyo.
Ah! I was actually thinking that this week, thought I'd try and see if I can go to Japan before school start as a first trip by myself and also my first time taking the plane. Would be an amazing experience considering I never took the plane or even left North America at all. Depends how bad the CAD becomes next to the YEN though. Seems to be hovering at roughly 1 CAD for 80 YEN but maybe I'll postpone until our dollar gets back on its feet.
Hey. Settle a bet? Canadian weed is better than american weed, yes?
Depends on where it comes from anything from Mexico tends to be pretty shit quality,The Home growers in the states should be on par with the home growers in Canada. the caveat to that is I wouldnt trust pot in Alberta, Hear too many stories of people lacing it with meth to try and get the pipeliners hooked on it.
Trying to persuade a Japanese friend to let me freeload at her place if I go there on vacation, would save tons on accomodation :^)
the caveat to that is I wouldnt trust pot in Alberta, Hear too many stories of people lacing it with meth to try and get the pipeliners hooked on it.
It happens everywhere, here in BC there are people who lace it with fentanyl though you don't hear about it too often.
