Alright, Eastlink is officially pants on head retarded.
Bell introduces their 300 Mbps and 960 Mbps Fibe packages not too long ago. I was thinking that Eastlink was going to either improve speeds, cut caps on the faster packages or reduce rates to compete.
They did the complete opposite.
It used to be that the cheapest internet package from Eastlink was between $60 and $70 a month. Pricey, but it was 25/2 with no cap and it cost $5/month to get bumped to 50/5. It's reliable, I always get my speeds even at peak hours and they don't block ports. I'm content enough that I didn't bother going ahead with my plan to take over paying for the internet at my dad's place to get 300 Mbps or 960 Mbps from Bell.
Today, I saw that Eastlink made the 50/5 package the "cheapest" one and bumped up the rates to $82/month AND they're starting to cap that package at 150GB a month with $2/GB overages to a max of $75 in overages. WTF? I'd expect that if they're trying to offer say, a $50/month basic package for light users.
I'll definitely be checking out Vianet, since they resell Eastlink for MUCH better rates. Vianet may also offer Fiber where I am, which would be awesome. Vianet deals with the company I work for, and everyone I've dealt with there has been great.
Canadian telecoms are renowned to be absolutely garbage, IIRC in most of Europe you can get top tier internet for the same price we'd get basic internet here.
And yeah, Canadian border guards are assholes for some weird reason.
I hate how Canada loves privatizing natural monopolies.
Ontario Hydro, or is some other province fucking around too?

Hanging around downtown Toronto is fun when you find great friends to hang around with.
Well the beer was a success, now to try cider. Each one is labelled with the yeast used and any additional notes.

Calgary's Airport had a petition to be named after this individual: ______________________
I'm a lazy sack of shit and left 2 assignments until the absolute last minute, as they're both due tomorrow at 11. Then Wednesday I have a midterm I haven't studied for at 9AM and another assignment I haven't even looked at due at 1PM. I have work Tuesday night from 5:30-9:30, so that kills a lot of my time to do anything productive. Then I have at least 1 assignment due Friday.
At least next week will be a little calmer.
I should probably stop handing in papers on the very last day.
Apparently I'm good for ~$1600 in returns.
GPU Upgrade, here I come (As soon as AMD releases the flagship "Polaris" card)

I started my paper like 3 weeks ago, then thought okay I've got lots of time. I then forgot about it until last night and it was due at noon. Luckily I got it done by 3am and off to the prof. I then crashed and slept through all my classes today
My reading week just ended, I don't want to do anything :v:
I'm slowly accepting the fact that I'm not getting any meaningful sleep tonight because of my procrastination. This math is taking forever. It's so long, annoying, and intimidating that I'm on FP instead trying to take a break and prepare myself for calculating the next iteration of this massive matrix on Wolfram Alpha. Then after I'm done, they want me to work backwards and find the parameters for a matrix they give me, essentially wanting me to do all this fuckoff math backwards.
I really should have started this yesterday...
There's a number of projects I should have started weeks ago, or at least gotten done during my reading week but nope, I was being a lazy person for the past 2 weeks, doing basically jack shit nothing, again. It's probably going to bite me in the ass in a week or two but oh well.
I feel like everyone else here in is the STEM fields, then there's me the music major
Tradesman here.
Uneducatable here.
I'm a history major. Though, also in the same boat as many of the rest of you with the several overdue assignments. :(
On the flipside, I'm moving outta Toronto on the 30th of April! It'll be nice to leave the concrete jungle.
I'm convinced that I'm going to fail this assignment, that I failed the midterm for this class, and that I'm going to fail it overall and be held back a year. I should have transferred to another elective when I had the chance.
